Terrible customer service! Very rude agents, and just unprofessionalism all around. When trying to get answers from representatives they give you a tone like your annoying them. Have been waiting for a claim for over a month have been given different explanations every time. Really sad that the company you trust with your insurance liability are the ones that are most against you trying to get your car claim submitted when you are the one who was hit by a distracted driver. My advice if your thinking about going with WESTERN GENERAL keep shopping around to hopefully avoid this problem for your selves.

Don't recommend. Tried to get my policy changed and a new insurance card and they sent me to a third party but wouldn't help the third party either.

I really hope they pass **** kind of law enforcing that this so called "insurance company" pay claims for which they have stated THEIR INSURED WAS AT FAULT. I don't even know where to begin with these jokers. I have currently a pending claim from 2 YEARS AGO, and all I keep getting is the run around when I have literally sent them everything they have asked for and they have already accepted liability. Shiela from claims dept is a complete cun* and I honestly don't know how the animals working there sleep at night. The worst company of any kind on the planet, for that western general takes first place. Disgusting!

Western General is a horrible insurance company. I was involved in an accident about two months ago and I am still waiting for them to review my estimate. Their inability to work quickly and efficiently on my claim has forced me to start paying out of pocket for a rental car. Not even my mechanic can get a hold of them to get an update. I am seriously considering driving to their offices to see what is taking them so long.

-XXXXXX stars!! This "business" is a joke. I got hit by one of their drivers and they told me only almost a year later, it was my fault! I had to call to get any information, they lost my contact info AND statement which they took twice! They wouldn't give me an adjuster and closed the claim without ANY communication. The collision repair they sent me to for estimate told me they are the absolute worst insurance company they deal with and that they give insurance to people without licenses! Beware of there customers as they too, are the lowest of the low... Side note-anyone else ever think of starting a class action lawsuit? Seems to have enough people they burned to do so.

In this day and age where you have tons of choices for insurance companies, there is absolutely no excuse to be as incompetent as Western General. If you're in an accident with one of their insured, just start praying because you're more likely to get answers personally from Jesus Christ himself. I'm not going to knock their employees, at least their customer service reps because they were all fine. Whatever system they're using is so flawed you might as well have been hit by someone without insurance. I was in an accident with one of their insured back in SEPTEMBER. I made a claim the same day and got the same answer back over and over. "We're still investigating and waiting on additional info from the other driver." I was in frequent contact with the other driver who was always sending them the info. I still get letters in the mail saying they're investigating. No one ever came to look at my car. No one ever called me or the other driver, I had to do the work for them. I'm lucky I wasn't hurt and that my car was still driveable or I would have been screwed going on 5 months now. I bit the bullet and made a claim with my insurance company who had everything fixed within a week. There's no excuse to be this inept as an insurance company when in Texas you are required by law to have insurance. WG is a sorry excuse for it.
