This place is horrible you better hope you don’t get into an accident even if it isn’t your fault. I was with this place for a year and they are disgusting their adjusters and appraisers are ridiculous. Look on consumer affairs the list is so long for one star reviews if you’re in a place like Nashville where there are horrible reviews go with progressive or geico because these people aren’t worth your money.

Dont do anything through this company. They dont answer and they give vague answers. I been chasing my claim for over 2 weeks and they have not issued a rental. My car was said to be a total lost and they have put no effort in to make sure im safe on the road. This has a few adjusters that are rude and really dont care what you got going on. I been missing work because of this now whos gonna make up for the missed money.

I HATE The General Insurance- Horrible company- Terrible Customer Service. The worst choice for auto insurance. They charged me over $200 to reinstate my service and then charged me $200 4 (FOUR!) days later for the next months service. When began, last year I was quoted at $119 per month, but that was a lie. It immediately shot up to over $150. I have spent hours on hold trying to find a reason for my rate increase- spoiler alert, they dont know...They're customer service hotline is useless. They will straight-lie-to-your face because they have no idea whats going on in their own company. Full of criminals. They charge $10 to pay online???!!! If I ever meet Shaq, I will tell him to his face- THE GENERAL is CRIMINAL.

To all considering going with the general for your auto insurance, and even those that have The General. Jump ship!! They are great if you just need to have insurance to be legal but if and when it comes time to use the coverage you will be sorely disappointed with them. My truck was hit while parked in the parking lot of a store, the person who hit me did not leave any information and I came to my truck to find the entire front right fender, right side of the bumper, right headlight, the cab and door and right side of the front part of the bed damaged, along with a large gouge in my front right tire. When driving the truck I noticed that my alignment was no longer true and was out of whack and the steering wheel slightly cocked to the right and pulling right. When I filed the claim everything was going smoothly I thought, "cool there wont be any issues," as I do pay for uninsured motorist coverage.. well I couldn't have been anymore wrong. When it came time to get the estimate the insurance adjuster told me to go to the link they will email me and that they will assess the damages and give me a quote, also said that I can go to any shop and get one in person. Well now looking back I would NOT have had them do it on the link they sent with just looking at pictures of my truck. They appraised the damages at 904.56!!! There is absolutely no way all that could be that cheap let alone under a thousand dollars. When I took it to two different shops, because by law that is your right, to have the repairs done at any creditable body shop, one appraised it at $4,102 and the other at $3,992. I sent them over the lower of the two and they were not going for it. Mind you the lady I spoke with for my claim, Cassandra, said that they are expecting the damages to be more than what the estimated and that when the shop sends over the info that they will submit a supplemental payment to cover it. Well that did not go that way at all. They turned down the estimate and fought with the body shop and told them that they need to call salvage yards like LKQ for parts and at the last resort to use OE. Well it was three weeks and one day for my truck in the shop before I got it back just today. I had to pay for my $250 deductible (of course) but on top of that since they refused to use LKQ parts and got OE I had to pay half of the cost of the front bumper and skin an additional $438.85 also the refused to replace the head lamp with a black bezel even though that is what the other side is so I got it back with only one headlamp. I got online and had to purchase my headlights myself for another $235. The body shop I took it to tried everything they could do to try and get The General to budge but they started not replying to their emails. The store manager of Bluebonnet Collision reached out to the corporate headquarters and now because of their dealings with The General on my claim the entire Bluebonnet Collision as a whole is no longer accepting any claims from people who cary The General auto insurance. So as I said before, jump ship now before you have to actually use the coverage you have been paying for, or if you are considering The General for a new insurance DON'T DO IT!!

They are so easy to use and are cheaper than anyone else out there.

Methodology

The car insurance quotes displayed are based on an analysis of Insurify’s database of over 40 million quotes from 500 ZIP codes nationwide. To obtain representative rates, Insurify’s data science team performs frequent comprehensive analyses of the factors car insurance providers weigh to calculate rates including driver demographics, driving record, credit score, desired coverage level, and more.

Insurify’s analysis also incorporates the Insurify Composite Score (ICS) assigned to each insurance provider. The ICS is a proprietary rating that weighs multiple factors reflecting the quality, reliability, and health of an insurance company. Ratings used to calculate the ICS include Financial Strength Ratings from A.M. Best, Standard & Poor’s, Moody’s, and Fitch; J.D. Power ratings; Consumer Reports customer satisfaction surveys and customer complaints; mobile app reviews; and user-generated company reviews.

With the above insights and ranking methods, Insurify is able to offer car insurance shoppers insight into how various insurance providers compare to one another in terms of both cost and quality. Note, actual quotes will vary based on unique attributes including the policyholder’s driver history and their garaging address.
