Worst car insurance that I have ever had!!! Will not ever recommend them to anyone. Damage Adjuster did not know what the heck he was doing and everyone else is horrible.

Spoke with claims rep Steven Yi, the man was rude and extremely disrespectful during the intake of my claims conversation. I kept thinking to myself are these calls being recorded? He raised his voice several times during the conversation during the claim intake and kept looking for ways to deny my claim. He was the absolute worst claims rep and I would stay clear of this company. When we pay the insurance is premium for coverage is a piece of mind knowing you have coverage in place in the event of a covered loss. Now when there is a claim how the company responds. is extremely important! Being nasty on the phone to customers will result in polices being cancelled and negative online reviews. Stay clear of this company this is how they handled auto insurance claims.

At the end of September, my vehicle was rear-ended by an Encompass-insured driver, who in the process of hitting me, pushed my vehicle into the car in front of me. It’s February, and I am still fighting with Encompass just to get to to cover the full vehicle damage from the wreck, and they have not once offered to refund me the $2k I have been forced to spend on a rental car while dealing with them. I was told point-blank the other day that they will not send someone out to re-evaluate the damage. I was told by my insurance company that Encompass would have to be the one to declare a vehicle total. Their refusal to do so is costing me money every single day, and what should have been originally been a matter or a week or two, has turned into a 5 month long nightmare, that still shows no sign of ending. Additionally, it has been nearly impossible to get in touch with the claims agent who is assigned to my claim, and this agent got upset with me when I requested an adjuster be sent out at a time that I could be there. She raised her voice and informed me that essentially, it doesn’t matter if I am frustrated with them, as I don’t have my insurance through Encompass. Ironically, my insurance company? Is Allstate. Guess who is somewhat related to Allstate? Encompass.

We purchased a town home 10 years ago and Encompass was the insurance carrier. We had no claims on the property. 2016 we purchased another home and Encompass was the insurance carrier. 10 months into the purchase of our new home, an letter can from Encompass stating the company was dropping coverage on both home, as of February 2 2017, because the new home had shingles missing and needed maintenance. An inspection report was done prior to purchasing the new home in winter 2016, nothing was noted at that time that the roof was in need of repair or was an issue. Encompass then stated we need an estimate for roof replacement and or repairs to the roof. It is in the middle of winter with snow on the roof and hard to get a roofing company to come out and get an estimate at that time. Tried to file claim for damaged shingles due to wind and severe weather, Company said we could not file a claim. Our agent tried several times to explain the situation to only be dropped anyway. Poor customer service. Then Encompass debts our account for car insurance for months after insurance has been dropped. Still haven't received the money back for what was debited. Would not recommend this company to anyone right now...

I deal with the broker, Weaver Bros. of Bethesda, who are excellent and very helpful. I don't know yet how much the insurer will raise the premium following a recent claim.
