PEMCO offers a variety of home insurance coverages and their agents will make sure there aren’t any gaps in your protection for your home and your possessions.

Available coverages and discounts may vary by state, but will most likely include:

  • Dwelling Coverage: Covers the repair or replacement costs of your home if it’s damaged or destroyed by fire, smoke, storms, explosion, vandalism, burglary, and burst pipes. Dwelling coverage does NOT cover floods, earthquakes, or normal wear and tear. PEMCO includes sewer backup coverage, up to $5,000 with this coverage.

  • Personal Property Coverage: Covers all of the belongings in your home such as furniture, appliances, clothing, jewelry, furs, computers, etc. It also covers items you take with you on vacation/travel.

  • Replacement Cost Coverage: Covers the replacement cost of your belongings if they’re stolen or damaged. This coverage will reimburse you with the amount those items are priced as today, not what you originally paid for them.

  • Other Structures Coverage: Covers damages to repair or rebuild other structures on your property such as a detached garage, shed, or treehouse.

PEMCO also offers Earthquake insurance as a separate policy.

PEMCO’s auto insurance policies will cover bodily injury and property damage to others, no-fault personal injury coverage for your vehicle's occupants, physical damage coverage for your own vehicle for collisions or other perils, and rideshare insurance coverage.

Available coverages and discounts may vary by state, but will most likely include:

  • Collision Coverage: Collision coverage pays for damage to your car from a crash or rollover, whether you were at-fault or not. If you have a car loan, your bank will require this coverage.

  • Comprehensive Coverage: Covers damages from something other than an accident including theft, fire, vandalism, and glass . If you have a car loan, your bank will require this coverage.

  • Underinsured/uninsured motorist, Property Damage Coverage: Covers damages if you’re in an accident with someone with little or no insurance.

  • Towing and Labor Coverage: Covers cost of roadside assistance if your car breaks down and needs work on the side of the road or needs to be towed to a repair shop. This coverage is a less-expensive alternative to an auto club membership.

  • Rental Reimbursement Coverage: Reimburses you for the cost of a rental car while your car is being repaired.

  • Auto Loan Coverage: PEMCO will pay any unpaid amount due on the lease of finance loan of your vehicle if it is deemed a covered, total loss. The car must be less than 3 years old and your loan must be more than what the car is worth at the time of the accident.

  • Personal Injury Protection (PIP) Coverage: PIP coverage is optional, but recommended. It will cover medical expenses, income loss, and more for anyone hurt or killed in an accident in your vehicle.

  • Underinsured/Uninsured Motorist, Bodily Injury Coverage: Covers medical costs for your or your family if you’re hurt in an accident and the other driver has little or no insurance.

  • Accidental Death Coverage: A benefit of $10,000 will go to the driver’s spouse or estate if they are killed in a car accident.

  • Liability Property Damage Coverage: Liability coverage is required by law and pays for the other driver’s car and property damages in an accident. It will also cover defense costs if you’re taken to court.

  • Liability Bodily Injury Coverage: Covers medical bills and court defense costs if you or a family member is found at-fault for bodily injury to another person.

  • Rideshare Coverage: Extends your coverage limits when you drive for a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft.

  • Loss of Use Coverage: Covers living expenses if you must stay somewhere else while your home while it’s being rebuilt or repaired.

Renters will receive a discount if  they also insure their vehicle with PEMCO.

Condo association insurance only covers the exterior structure of your building.  However, a personal condo policy ( “HO6 policy”), covers replacement or repair costs of drywall, flooring, light fixtures, plumbing, other internal amenities, and any upgrades you’ve made within your condo unit.

Medical Payments to Others Coverage: Covers medical bills if a guest is injured in your home, whether if you were found at-fault or not. This coverage will also cover cost if you’re hurt while visiting someone.

To purchase an umbrella insurance policy with PEMCO, you must first have a home and auto insurance policy with them. Additionally, your auto liability coverage must be at least $250,000/$500,000 for bodily injury and $100,000 for property damage. You also must carry homeowner liability limits of $300,000.

Umbrella insurance increases your liability protection limits beyond the limits set for your auto, home, and boat insurance policies. Your umbrella policy will kick in once the cost of damages exceeds your individual policy limits.

 

You can buy umbrella insurance at limits of $1 million, $2 million, or $3 million.

PEMCO offers coverage for your boat and other watercraft vehicles year-round. This protection is valid whether your boat is docked or out in the water and include inland bodies of water in the continental United States (excluding Alaska) and Canada. Customers are also covered up to 75 miles off the Pacific Coast of either the continental United States (excluding Alaska) or Canada (including the Queen Charlotte Islands, but not more than 12 miles off their western shore).

  • Damage to Your Boat Coverage: Covers accidental damage to your boat, motor, or trailer.

  • Replacement Coverage for Personal Belongings: Cover up to $500 for replacing unrelated items like clothings and sporting equipment while on board your boat.

  • Agreed Value Coverage: If your boat is deemed a total loss after an accident, you’re covered for the amount written on your policy, not the depreciation value.

  • Emergency Service Coverage: Covers the cost of labor, towing, and fuel, oil, or battery delivery costs if you breakdown.

  • Underinsured Boater Coverage: Covers medical bills if you or a family member is in an accident with a boater with little or no insurance.

  • Medical Payments Coverage: Covers medical and funeral bills for everyone on your boat in the event of an accident.

  • Loss of Income Coverage: Covers up to $200 per week if someone is hurt in an accident and cannot go to work.

Liability Coverage: Covers defense costs if you or a family member is found liable for bodily injury or death while using your boat.

While pleased w/PEMCO's cheap rates, the fiasco that passed as "service" for towing my dead car {22 miles from Portland, OR to an outlying small town} last Sat. afternoon was so disappointing I am determined to change companies.
