If you cause a car accident in Kansas, your minimum-coverage policy won’t cover any of your needed vehicle repairs. For that, you need a full-coverage policy with collision and comprehensive coverage. It’s also a good idea to increase your liability coverage limits beyond Kansas’s minimum requirements to avoid a financial burden following a serious accident.

Cheapest full-coverage car insurance in Kansas: State Farm

Full-coverage policies include collision insurance, comprehensive coverage, and higher liability limits for drivers who want protection for their own vehicles. Kansas is in Tornado Alley and averages 81 tornadoes per year, according to the National Weather Service.[2]

As a result, car owners in Kansas need to protect their vehicles against potential damage from storms, including falling debris and hail, so a full-coverage policy can be worth the added cost. On average, Kansas drivers pay $134 per month for full-coverage insurance.

The table below shows the companies with the cheapest rates for full-coverage policies in Kansas.

State Farm - A Company That Has Lost Its Roots
Reviewed in Kansas on March 20, 2026
State Farm has changed a lot since big losses with forest fires and hurricane losses in California and Florida. They "established" their claims department as a separate profit center, and claims are difficult to get done. Home insurance is also very difficult as well. As an example, five homes around my home have had their roofs replaced due to hail damage. I have been with them for thirty years, and the company is not the same. Profits are driving all decisions! Getting quotes to change.

Methodology

Insurify data scientists analyzed more than 190 million quotes served to car insurance applicants in Insurify’s proprietary database to calculate the premium averages displayed on this page. These premiums are real quotes that come directly from Insurify’s 500+ partner insurance companies in all 50 states and Washington, D.C. Quote averages represent the median price for a quote across the given coverage level, driver subset, and geographic area.

Unless otherwise specified, quoted rates reflect the average cost for drivers between 20 and 70 years old with a clean driving record and average or better credit (a credit score of 600 or higher).

Liability-only premium averages correspond to policies with the following coverage limits:

  • Bodily injury limits between state-minimum rates and $50,000 per person, $100,000 per accident
  • Property damage limits between $10,000 and $50,000
  • No additional coverage
Full-coverage premium averages correspond to the same bodily injury and property damage limits in addition to:
  • Comprehensive coverage with a $1,000 deductible
  • Collision coverage with a $1,000 deductible

Quotes for Allstate, Farmers, GEICO, State Farm, and USAA are estimates based on Quadrant Information Services’ database of auto insurance rates.
