Quick Facts
  • State Farm, USAA, and Mercury are the cheapest insurers in Oklahoma.

  • Oklahoma is an at-fault state, which means a driver responsible for an accident must cover the other party’s resulting damage and injury.

  • The overall average cost of car insurance in Oklahoma is $124 per month.

3 of the cheapest car insurance companies in Oklahoma

State Farm, USAA, and Allstate are three of the cheapest insurers in Oklahoma.

Because rates vary by driver, you should always expand your search to compare quotes from multiple insurers. While these three insurers have the lowest average premiums in Oklahoma, that doesn’t guarantee they’ll have the cheapest rates for you. Consider your coverage needs, budget, and driving record when looking for the best coverage.

Money hungry, not loyal to their CUSTOMERS
Reviewed in Delaware on November 2025
I've been with State Farm since 1959—that's 66 years. How much money do you think I've paid into this company? Your prices are way too high for us seniors and your loyal customers. I've had all my cars and home insurance with State Farm all these years. I have always owned three or four cars insured at a time. I am retired and live on my Social Security and pension. I am shopping the marketplace for better-priced insurance. The internet is bombarded with all kinds of bargains. Insurance is just a scam that I've put up with for years.

They keep raising the insurance price, and their answer for doing so is ridiculous because of the area where I live. I have to move for my rates to go down. Where do I have to move to? I like the people there; they talk nicely to you and are very helpful, but it's just not fair with the rates.

Why I Chose to Leave USAA After 17 Years
Reviewed in California on November 2025
USAA insurance company is great for filing claims quickly and easily. They pay claims promptly and are super helpful. However, when it comes to truly caring about their members, it's disappointing. I have credit cards, bank accounts, my car loan, and car insurance all under USAA. Personally, after battling cancer and health issues, getting USAA to show compassion for my situation was nonexistent. They only seem to care about active duty members, which is the only group they will help in a financial crisis. For that reason, I am really disappointed in USAA as a whole. I think for the money, it's not worth it. There are other companies that will insure my car just the same for cheaper. I don't need to carry the USAA brand and overpay when they won't do anything for a member going through something catastrophic.

How to get the cheapest car insurance in Oklahoma

Car insurers consider several factors when setting your premium, including your age, gender, driving history, ZIP code, and credit history.

Here are a few tips for finding the cheapest car insurance in Oklahoma:

  • Look for discounts. Insurers offer plenty of discounts, so make sure you know which ones you may qualify for. Common discounts include rewards for bundling coverages, remaining accident-free, and setting up auto pay.

  • Raise your deductible. Increasing your deductible will lower your premium, but you’ll have to pay more in the event of an accident. Always set a deductible you can afford to pay if you need to file a claim.

  • Shop around. Insurance companies assess your risk factors differently, so premium quotes can vary. Compare quotes from at least three different insurers, and make sure to look at the same coverage levels and deductibles.

Cheapest liability-only car insurance quotes in Oklahoma: State Farm

Oklahoma law requires all drivers to carry liability insurance. This coverage will pay for the other parties’ legal and medical bills related to injuries and damages when you cause a car accident, but it won’t cover your injuries and damages. Carrying liability-only coverage is a good idea if your vehicle is older and youd replace it after an accident instead of having it repaired.

In Oklahoma, liability-only insurance costs an average of $83 per month. Here are the cheapest insurance companies in Oklahoma for liability-only coverage.

Car insurance requirements in Oklahoma

Oklahoma drivers must carry a minimum amount of car insurance to drive legally in the state. The minimum liability requirements offer protection if you cause an accident that injures the other driver or causes property damage. You need to carry the following amounts of bodily injury and property damage liability in Oklahoma:[1]

Coverage

Minimum Requirements
sort ascsort desc
Bodily injury liability$25,000 per person / $50,000 per accident

Liability insurance doesn’t cover your vehicle or injuries, so you need to consider buying additional coverages to pay for your damages. Here’s a quick overview of some optional coverages you may want to add to your policy:

Cheapest car insurance in Oklahoma by driving record

Insurers consider your driving record when determining your premium. If you have incidents on your record, such as speeding tickets or at-fault accidents, you’ll pay more for coverage.

If you have a DUI charge on your record, you’ll pay a much higher premium due to the severity of the offense.[2]

How much you pay will depend on the frequency and severity of your incidents. On average, Oklahoma drivers with an incident on their record pay $98 per month for liability-only insurance and $194 for full-coverage insurance.

Methodology

Insurify data scientists analyzed more than 90 million quotes served to car insurance applicants in Insurify’s proprietary database to calculate the premium averages displayed on this page. These premiums are real quotes that come directly from Insurify’s 500+ partner insurance companies in all 50 states and Washington, D.C. Quote averages represent the median price for a quote across the given coverage level, driver subset, and geographic area.

Unless otherwise specified, quoted rates reflect the average cost for drivers between 20 and 70 years old with a clean driving record and average or better credit (a credit score of 600 or higher).

Liability-only premium averages correspond to policies with the following coverage limits:

  • Bodily injury limits between state-minimum rates and $50,000 per person, $100,000 per accident
  • Property damage limits between $10,000 and $50,000
  • No additional coverage
Full-coverage premium averages correspond to the same bodily injury and property damage limits in addition to:
  • Comprehensive coverage with a $1,000 deductible
