Freeway Insurance provides auto insurance policies to people in all fifty states but currently has offices in twelve. These states are:
- New Mexico
- New Jersey
- New York
- South Carolina
If you’re not located in these states, you can contact an agent through Freeway’s national telesales call center. You can also begin the quoting process via its website and receive a call from an agent without having to wait on hold. Agents are available to speak with both English- and Spanish-speaking customers. In fact, Freeway Insurance specializes in servicing Spanish-speaking drivers and traditionally underserved drivers.
Freeway offers several car insurance discount programs, including:

Freeway Insurance works a little differently than typical insurance companies like State Farm or GEICO. When you call in to receive quotes, you aren’t actually speaking to an insurance agent, but a broker. What’s the difference?
An agent works on behalf of the insurance company while a broker works on the behalf of a customer. Similar to the work we do here at Insurify, brokers can compare rates for their customers. They also work to ensure customers receive the best policy, at the best price.
Unlike Insurify, however, brokers are paid a fee for finding the best insurance company. This fee is paid by the customer and not by the insurance company, which means you could pay more overall for coverage. With Freeway Insurance, you may or may not be required to pay this fee.
It all depends on whether the company with the best rate is part of Freeway’s insurance family. If a company outside the Freeway family is found to have the best quote, drivers will be required to pay a one-time broker’s fee. Freeway Insurance’s online customer experience
When obtaining insurance through Freeway, you will be required to fill out an online form.
After submitting the form, you will receive a phone call from an agent who will verify your information. After that, you will be directed to a broker/agent in your state. The agent will find the best price from either Freeway or its partners.
From there you can decide to accept the quote, or you can inquire about the other quoting data the agent has uncovered. Again, be sure to ask about the broker’s fees and any other fees involved in purchasing the recommended policy, and inquire about any fees that might reoccur at renewal time.
When I went through the Freeway flow, I received a quote slightly less expensive than my current carrier, though also containing a one-time fee. The entire process, from filling out the form to asking questions after receiving my quote, took all of 15 minutes. The overall process was, honestly, a little clunky, because I spoke to two different people on the phone. However, both representatives were considerate, kind, and helpful.
