Protect your home and everything in it with an Esurance homeowners policy. A standard home insurance policy (also known as an HO-3 policy) can cover you from losses caused by fires or lightning, windstorms, hail, explosions, riots, aircrafts, vehicles, smoke, theft or vandalism, falling objects, weight of ice, snow, or sleet, and freezing of plumbing or other household systems.

A home insurance policy with Esurance typically offers:

  • Dwelling protection
  • Other structures protection
  • Additional living expense coverage: Pays to relocate and shelter you when your home is considered uninhabitable after a covered loss.
  • Water backup coverage
  • Personal property insurance

Esurance offers a variety of condo insurance coverage options so you can protect what your condo association’s insurance doesn’t. Your condo association insurance will typically cover structures outside of your unit such as the walls, ceilings, and common areas.

Also known as an HO-6 policy, your personal condo insurance is meant to cover things specific to your unit including:

  • Personal belongings
  • Interior structure: Coverage for things like flooring, inner walls, countertops, and fixtures within your unit.
  • Improvements: Coverage for renovations you make to your unit.
  • Liability
  • Loss assessment: Covers damage to common areas, land, shared amenities, and exterior structures that exceeds the condo association insurance policy limits.

An Esurance renters insurance policy will provide protection for your personal belongings whether you’re renting a house, apartment, or condo. Your landlord’s insurance will not cover your personal belongings, but rather the building’s exterior structure. So, it’s up to you to protect your belongings and valuables with:

  • Personal property coverage
  • Personal liability coverage
  • Medical payments
  • Property damage to others
  • Additional living expenses: Pays to relocate you when your apartment is considered uninhabitable after a covered loss.

Additional renters insurance coverage options include:

  • Replacement cost: Covers your lost personal belongings at current market value instead of the actual cash value, meaning it won’t account for wear and tear of your items.
  • Sewer or drain backup
  • Earthquake
  • Insurance riders: Provides additional protection for valuable items like jewelry, antiques, etc.

A standard home insurance policy doesn’t cover flood damage so it’s important to have a separate insurance policy through Esurance and the National Flood Insurance Program.

Flood insurance will only cover damages directly related to a flood. If that is the case, your insurance will provide coverage for:

  • Building property: Pays for damages to the insured building and its foundation, electrical and plumbing systems, central air conditioning equipment, furnaces, and water heaters, refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, permanently installed carpeting over unfinished flooring, permanently installed paneling, wallboard, bookcases, and cabinets, window blinds, detached garages and other buildings, debris removal.
  • Personal property: Pays to repair or replace personal belongings such as clothing, furniture, electronics, curtains, window air conditioners, microwaves, washers and dryers, freezers and the food in them, and certain valuables like artwork. These items will be replaced with actual cash value, meaning depreciation and wear and tear is included in factoring their worth.

Esurance offers umbrella insurance, which acts as a secondary liability policy if you should exceed your home and auto insurance liability limits after you’re sued for an at-fault accident.

Poor billing procedures or information changes to billing procedures has messed me up significantly causing me financial burdens and coverage problems beyond comprehension. Was uninsured without knowledge, dropped coverage for no fault of my own. Then offered a chance to reinstate and once again no letter with attached statement for billing. Only thing received was a letter of debt collection for $49.00. now I'm trying to fix your mistake and it's costing me lots of time which info not have and hundreds if not thousands of $.
