Too High Monthly Payments Reviewed in Texas on March 5, 2026
The monthly payment is way too high. Even though I was with them for many years, the premium kept going up.
Reviewed in Florida on March 4, 2026
Not great, but better than $300 a month.

The agents have all been top-notch since I was 16 years old. I went with Progressive for a few years but have come back to them. I'm 61, a retired crane/heavy equipment operator for 40 years. If you have any idea about the operation of machinery and the concentration it demands, that bleeds over to personal life decisions daily. I have had no accidents since 2003, no DUI or speeding tickets in I can't remember how long. I pay $393.12 a month.

High Priced, No Really Good Discounts Reviewed in New York on March 3, 2026
It seems I'm paying a higher rate every time I look at my bill.

Much too expensive. About $2500/year for three cars driven, in total, less than 5000 miles.

I want better rates. I've had no accidents or incidents in 20 years, but the rates keep going up.
Gradual insurance price increases force me to change providers Reviewed in Ohio on March 3, 2026
I switched to Progressive because they offered a quote at a third of the price State Farm was offering me.

The price only goes up, never down or stays the same. They do not take care of people who have been with them for years. I was with them for over 20 years, and all they did was raise the premium every 6 months. Reviewed in Texas on March 2, 2026

I have been insured with State Farm for over 30 years, even though they keep increasing my payments. In August, I had a slight fender bender that was not my fault, and no one at State Farm would help me until late November when I stopped in, once again, to see if the other party had filed a claim. A young man, whom I had never talked to before, told me we could file a claim ourselves. I was astounded, and within a month, it was settled. Reviewed in Washington on March 2, 2026

After decades of loyalty, I continue to pay more (3-4x) and they continue to pay less.
It wasn’t my fault in the accident and we’re getting overcharged. Reviewed in New York on March 1, 2026
It's no good. All insurance companies have steady growth, and we, the good drivers, are paying for it! I'm 46 years old, and I've never had a ticket. I was in an accident in August. It was not my fault, and now my payments are going up to $350 a month. Why? It wasn’t my fault, and I never got a ticket. I'm 100% not responsible for the accident, but it doesn’t matter what company I go to, they're all overcharging me. I got quotes of $170, $290, and then suddenly it's $273, $300, $354. I'm like, what the heck?

My problem with State Farm is that to get a discount, they require a transponder to be installed in the car. The transponder communicates with a cell phone to feed data back to State Farm. The only problem is it doesn’t work, and I’ve spent an hour or two on the phone with my agent trying to get it to work with no luck. I’m retired, so I hardly ever drive the car. We have driven it as much trying to get the transponder to work as I would on a normal basis.
Customer service is good, but overpriced Reviewed in Montana on February 28, 2026
I appreciate the customer service, but I feel they are overpriced. I have been comparing with other companies, and SF is twice what others have quoted me.

State Farm has become remote and inflexible with me. I've not had a ticket in over 4 decades, not made a claim with State Farm for house or car...EVER, and my rates only go up. I've spoken with a number of representatives at the Curtis Hansen SLC office, and none of them offered any coherent insight on how to lower my rates.

State Farm Insurance Not Worth the Cost Reviewed in South Carolina on February 26, 2026
Very expensive and keeps going up in price, not worth it. Roadside assistance is also very expensive. You can't use the tow service because it only covers 10 miles, and then it's $200 for a tow after that. Overall, very much not worth it. I'm not happy with this company at all.

State Farm has terrible customer service and took months to process two separate claims. My car needed $7,000 - $8,000 worth of repairs, which my body shop said could have been completed in two weeks. However, I dropped my car off in early December and didn’t get it back until mid-February. I asked the shop what the delay was and was advised the insurance company was refusing to pay for quality, factory parts. On a separate claim, my wife hit a deer which totaled her car. We did receive a fair payment for this loss, however, it took several months as we were constantly bounced around several departments with little to no communication.
