The representative performed well, but USAA needs to reconsider and significantly lower their rates. They are not the Nieman Marcus of insurance.

I see ads for much lower rates and I was just looking to see if there are lower rates out there and if USA would give me a lower rate. I have no plans to change my insurance.

After receiving a quote of $54 for the first payment, and $40+ per month, Suzi insisted on 'reviewing' the answers I submitted online. She took this opportunity to add coverage I didn't request or want. When she finished, her offer was over $200/month. No thanks, 'Suzi'.

They treat you like a fraudster with their pin and password, SS number verification. They are not very friendly either; they act like you are inconveniencing them and just want to go home at 5 pm. My anxiety increases when I call them.

If you can't make your payment on time, they will charge you. I called to let them know that the day they had scheduled to take their payment did not coincide with my payday. It was two days later and they are going to charge me $15.00. I don't think so!

At policy renewal time, my premium became price prohibitive, causing me to switch carriers for over a thousand dollars in savings. While this company is rated as number one by Consumer Reports, it's just too expensive.

Absolutely terrible. This company left me without a car for 8 months. They couldn't decide whether or not to total my car after it was already repaired. There were so many mistakes on their end and all I received at the end was a voicemail acknowledging their mistakes and an apology. You're constantly providing incorrect information and are unwilling to properly cover claims. You're also argumentative and wrongfully raising rates by coding them lower and charging higher!

They raised rates by nearly 43%.

I had a terrible claims experience with them. They did nothing to compensate for their poor handling of my claim; in fact, they increased my premium even more. The claim was for a 'hit-and-run' while my car was parked outside a house and I was in the backyard. It was broad daylight, around 12:43 pm; I had parked at 12:41 pm, which means I barely made it out of the car in time to avoid being hit by this vehicle. I was not at fault. USAA increased my monthly premium by over $100 each 6-month renewal period. I never planned to ever leave USAA in my life. But, honestly, the lack of addressing my terrible claims experience, during which they left my claim open and unattended, was disappointing. My entire claims payment/appraisal process required to complete the repairs on my Infiniti Q50 (around $14,000 in the end) was just sitting there, basically on hold for no reason. When I politely asked for answers to my specific questions regarding why my premium has more than doubled in the past 3-4 years, it seemed like they were trained not to give specific answers related to 6-month auto premium increases.
