Overpriced Insurance!
I love USAA and have been insured by them for 35 years. Unfortunately, their rates have skyrocketed and I can no longer afford them. It saddens me that after all my years as a faithful customer, I am being forced to seek insurance coverage elsewhere.

USAA has been great, other than the slow processing of our claim when my husband had an accident. They still haven't paid the hospital bills. I haven't had a terrible experience with them, just looking for something cheaper if it's available.

Disappointed with USAA
They increased my monthly payment by $125. They only explained that everyone in VA experienced a rise. When I asked when it would decrease, they did not provide a specific time. I would like to point out that my car's catalytic converter is under the hood and attached to the cylinder head, not underneath the car.

USAA started off well, but the price has increased without any explanation. We had trouble with their driver monitoring system. It took several calls to get it fixed, and it still doesn't seem accurate.

Not Happy with Liberty Insurance
I would like to pay my bill myself, but I can't access the payment section to make changes. They keep raising rates, and I'm forced to pay insurance on a car that doesn't run. I don't think this is fair.

I tried to lower my rate and drop a vehicle, but then I got a rate increase. My wife was rear-ended by another USAA policy holder. I have one ticket and have been with them for 5 years, accident-free except for my wife's incident, which was not her fault! I got a quote for $762 less a year, which will be even better when I also switch my house insurance. I'm sure I'm getting a bad rate. If they cared, they would automatically drop my rates. They did a little bit during COVID, but it was far from what I should have paid because for 4 months I drove maybe 100 miles.

The executive team, consisting of generals and admirals, is making operational decisions that are detrimental to the general membership. These decisions include selling investment brokerage services to Charles Schwartz, increasing auto and home insurance premiums without notice or negotiation with the customer, and paying below market interest rates on savings and CD rates.

When I first purchased car insurance, they offered a great price. However, in the two years I’ve been with them, my insurance premium has increased twice. I’ve never been late on a payment and there have been no issues that would have impacted this change. It went from $119.00 to now $160.00.

A couple of years ago, this company started using a third-party organization to rate its members for insurance purposes based on their credit and risk. My rate jumped nearly $100 a month because my credit was impacted by a foreclosure and bankruptcy after the market crashed in 2009. Despite never having an accident and being a member for 20 years, I was told there was nothing they could do for me. Absolutely ridiculous.

Like most carriers, liability rates for very experienced drivers are outrageous. Despite having no citations for many years and no major citations ever, it seems like there might be Red Lining in certain areas. I remember when rates for collision were higher than liability. I suspect Las Vegas is a target and drivers like myself have to pay through the nose. I feel like I have no choice. They're all the same. Liberty Mutual spends big bucks on advertising, but won't even give me a quote. It's amazing to me the billions that are spent annually on advertising for my auto insurance.

Looking for new insurance. I'm disappointed that you call yourself a military insurance provider, supposedly to help us save money. However, all you are doing is raising my rates, despite the fact that I've had no tickets or accidents for over 4 years. You should be lowering my insurance, not increasing it. I'm also not a fan of your security questions. You don't know my daughter's age and phone number, so how is this relevant to security questions? It seems like you just want her contact information. She's not interested in your services because of how you've treated me and overcharged me. I've found cheaper insurance for $60.00 a month, compared to your high charge of $130 a month. I plan to share my experience with your company on social media.

I am really disappointed with USAA. Last year, they raised my payment for no apparent reason. Now, they want to raise my payment because of a claim, which is absurd. They say I am a risk, despite the fact that I have never been in an accident in the 42 years I have been driving. I have three cars insured and two houses. I will be looking for another insurance company that is cheaper. I am very disappointed, as I thought USAA helped disabled vets.

My husband had a couple of tickets, including a DUI, and the company raised my rate, which I do understand. I had insurance for the next three years, then the company dropped my policy, citing my household's driving record. However, they covered my vehicle for three years after my husband received the other tickets.

I had full coverage. Then I was in a car accident. I found that their app had a glitch that removed my collision coverage. They claimed that their IT team's investigation revealed that I had declined the collision coverage in the app. However, I had everything else for full coverage. When I asked when this supposed change happened, they said October 20, 2018. That's the day I bought my brand new 2019 Kia Soul+. What they interpreted as me declining coverage was actually me adjusting my deductible to $1000. The app glitched, but they blamed me for their mistake. Now, I have to pay $3100 to get my brand new car fixed. They didn't cover the repairs from the accident, even after I proved that it wasn't my fault. My father has been a loyal customer of their insurance and banking services for over 20 years. I was required to have full coverage to leave the dealership. They didn't listen to me and seemed to just not want to pay. I am extremely frustrated with them and feel like they're taking advantage of me.

When I called to make a claim, the representatives seemed to be trained to deter people from filing a claim. They sign you up for their service like they appreciate your service to the country, but once you sign up, my auto rates were raised $150 to $200 every 6 months without any claims. When I did have a claim, even though the accident was not my fault (a bad driver ran a red light and hit me from behind), they listed the claim on my driving record because I had to use my insurance. When I called and asked about why they updated it as a charge against my driving record, the agent stated that if you file a claim and use your uninsured motorist coverage, USAA has the right to update the claim on my driving record as my fault. I asked for a supervisor and was constantly transferred to every other department except for a supervisor. Once they updated it and would not remove it, I could not leave USAA because the prices were so high due to the way they listed the accident on my driving record. I could not afford anyone else, and then they increased the premium by $300 every six months. This is the worst experience ever!
