Saved me money.

Allstate really helped me out in getting insurance for both my car and house, and helped me save money.

They always pay for my claims.

Always friendly and ready to answer any questions. I just need to pay a lot less.

Esurance was the biggest mistake in insurance we've ever made. With the lowest coverage possible, it was still $250 per month with awful customer service. We switched to Allstate and received amazing full coverage and added perks for less than half the price we were paying. Esurance is such an epic ripoff I'd go as far as to say it's a scam!

I think customers must be informed of their options without reservation and not just focus on the bottom line for the company or representative. If a customer qualifies for a much lower rate according to all established rules, then why not go over it with the customer, explaining the details?

I tell people you're a good company. I know the prices depend on coverage, so I think in comparison you're fair. Personally, I would never go with a bargain/cheap insurance company. After all, you get what you pay for.

Allstate was excellent for a multi-user, multi-car policy with homeowners. Unfortunately, after my spouse passed away, the cost for just one vehicle and renters was almost twice what we had paid for all of the above.

Nothing wrong with Allstate. The cost is extremely high considering the coverage and age of the car. I am the only driver and I don't use it every day. I feel like we're being punished while driving. I drive for myself and others. Speed has nothing to do with driving fast and hitting the brakes hard. I hit my brakes to prevent running over drivers who pull in front of me or cut me off while changing lanes or stopping immediately in front of me. I speed to avoid being run over at times, depending on the circumstances. I have a hands-free phone.

Mediocre. I think Allstate should have guided me more on my auto insurance because later I found out I was paying way too much. It would've been nice if they gave me what I really needed. I am 83 years old and I do not drive but maybe two or three times a week, just short distances. I've never had a wreck or a ticket, but I'm paying the premium for my insurance and I need that money for other things. I live on Social Security and I don't have much to go around. Nearly $2000 every six months is outrageous. Do your homework on an ongoing basis. Don’t just stay where you are because you’ve been with them so long.

They treat you poorly and don't stand behind the policy. They try to find things that were wrong with the house before a storm damaged it and blame you for it, even though I had only lived here for nine years. They knew this was an old house and didn't even come out to look at it when I took out the insurance. A tornado came through and destroyed my roof and dining room ceiling, and all they wanted to pay was $600. In truth, they did pay $679, but that's it—nothing else. It cost me $12,999 to get my ceiling fixed. What good is it to have insurance if it doesn't cover the property you're supposed to be covered for? I would tell anybody not to choose Allstate because you're not in good hands with them. That's the price it cost me to get my roof and ceiling fixed. I am 78 years old, and they are treating me poorly.

Very high prices and they said it would cost one amount but drafted a higher amount from my bank account without telling me!

They told me my policy would be $300-something, and it ended up being $400-something for 6 months, plus my car payment. That's highway robbery! I've never been in an accident or had any tickets.

Allstate recommended their collision service, which provided a repair estimate and promised completion in ten days. They changed the repair to a total loss without our knowledge. The original estimate was $5,800, and the total loss was $14,000. Poor service, poor communication, and we were never contacted by our local representative. The total experience was very poor and several hundred dollars higher than all other companies. Don’t expect recommendations from myself or my wife. This is the poorest service I have ever had with any insurance company!

Don't use this insurance company because they will give you a decent rate in the beginning and the next year increase the premium way too high.

I would hope that a driving record such as mine, with no tickets and no accidents, would qualify for higher discounts than what is currently offered to me.

The rates are constantly increasing and are not competitive with other companies. The discount for being a good driver is non-existent if you never have an insurance claim. I was told my insurance increased because the state allowed for it to be increased, not because I had a claim. It increased because Allstate had to pay out for housing claims, so that falls on my back even though it's not my fault.

Prices were going up every 6 months without any reason for both car and home insurance. I just canceled with them. No other experience as they were just taking money, and I didn't have any claims for years.

I had a terrible experience. I paid my bill on time and then received a cancellation warning. I called and they assured me it was paid. I got a cancellation notice from Allstate, called again, and was told they showed me as paid and to disregard the letter. Next thing I know, I got a letter from MVA that I was in trouble for having no insurance! Eventually got it all straightened out, but it was crazy.

My experience is not good because you change the premium very often. My car's price is $15,000, and you charge $4,443 yearly, which is very high. You take the whole price of my car, a Kia Soul, within four years. It's not good.

You have to do all the footwork for a claim. Even if you're not at fault, your insurance still goes up.

It's very hard to get answers when filing a claim. It's also difficult to get a response when you have a problem.

I recently switched to Progressive and will be saving $40/month. I’m going to like that! It was easy to get a quote online and purchase my new policy. I got automatic payments set up, so I don’t have to worry about remembering to pay the bill! It was all so easy!

I would not recommend this company at all. Although my agent is very nice and has helped me as much as possible, the actual company, Allstate, has let me down significantly. When I transferred one policy to another, they told me I had full coverage, and then when I was in an accident, they informed me that I do not have collision coverage. This should never have happened because I am financing this vehicle, so I needed full coverage, which includes collision coverage. Now I just keep getting pushed to the side, and no one knows how or why it happened, and no one is rectifying this mistake, so I am literally in limbo waiting for someone to fix their mistake. I am out of a vehicle because I can't get my rental due to the lack of collision coverage.

I had Allstate for over 20 years. I found a policy with the same coverage that was 30% cheaper.

They start out great, a lot cheaper just to get you to change to them, but go up about $100-$200 a year on homeowners without any claims.

Allstate is extremely overpriced. It appears that they increase the premium before applying discounts, so the discounts don't even make a difference. No tickets or accidents in about 12 years, yet our premium consistently goes up. The only explanation I get is that we're paying for all of the uninsured motorists. So I guess if you pay for insurance, you get penalized for everyone who doesn't. At least that's how Allstate looks at it.

Compared to other insurance companies these days, I am paying more than double what I could be paying. I don't have towing, nothing covers my clutch or any mechanics. I'm getting penalized because of the SR-22, which was over 3 years ago. I'm trying to find another insurance company where I could pay less. I'm a poor man, I live on one security check a month, and when I can't even get towed from an accident, that really sucks.

I’m no longer with Allstate. I switched to State Farm 2 years ago, who gave me a much better rate.

It's State Farm. I have been very disappointed with them. I was checking my monthly payment and somehow I hit the pay in full option. I almost fainted, being on Social Security! Immediately, I tried to cancel it, but this company doesn’t give you that option! I had to stop the payment (which for the first time I did this), and there is a $33.00 fee. After a half dozen phone calls and a week of waiting, I did finally resolve it, although I am still out $33.

Pricey. Homeowners have poor coverage for roofs. They do, however, insure our seasonal home in Delaware.

Allstate is terrible. It took over a week for them to send out an adjuster. They had poor communication skills with the repair shop. The repair shop told me they never had so much trouble with an Allstate claim. Then they sent me a check in the mail which took 10 days to get to me. And they don't let you rent a car that is similar to what I drive. So I had to pay an extra $15/day because I needed a car that could adapt to my handicap. The repair took 2 days but it was in the shop for 3 weeks due to Allstate delays.

They continue to raise rates, and my family has not had auto incidents in over 10 years.

Do not use Allstate. They offer you lower rates initially and then raise them higher than your previous insurance company.

It used to be worth spending more because I felt like I got the support and customer service I needed. Now it’s a lot of doing things yourself and nearly impossible to actually get to speak to your agent.

They are crooks. I have been a licensed driver for 44 years, insured, and this company had me for 3 months on pins and needles with their incompetent ways of taking information and putting the wrong numbers for my account even though they were on auto pay. They charged me for late fees for their errors, and at 69, I could not handle so much. They said my bank declined payment, and this went on for 3 months. Finally, I went to the bank, and my bank told them they had not received a request for payment from them. They still said I had to pay the bill with a late fee. That day I had an appointment with a doctor. Because of all this, I got lost and even got into my first accident. Then they tried to take my vehicle for $1,500. I was able to take my vehicle back and fix it myself for less than those $1,500 dollars, which they said was a total loss. I will not recommend this company.
