I am being overcharged for the most inexpensive coverage they have. At $80 a month for the lowest coverage liability that basically covers nothing, it is a poor choice. I've only been in one accident over 20 years ago. So Direct will cover you, just not as well as they say they do.

Good service online and face-to-face; however, when an agent leaves or an office closes, there's no contact, no warning text, no friendly goodbye letter. They are history and may even forget to finish your requests, such as an address change or email question. This has happened three times to me. Who do I blame for the lack of follow-through? The old agent is gone, it's not the new agent's fault, just no system of continuity. Otherwise, it's a good company. You have to be proactive.

I had a bad experience with the Burlington WA staff. They never contacted me proactively and continued to collect my money without canceling my policy when I requested it. They also double-billed my roadside assistance. I miss my old Bellingham agent. When he retired, I was transferred to this office.

I am now searching for new auto insurance with a price under $65 per month. That is what Allstate quoted me, but after the $95 initial cost, each month then went to $82.83, so they misled me.

Allstate raised my car insurance rates. When I called to ask why my rates increased, I was told it was because I turned 65! We hadn’t filed a claim in over 15 years, no tickets, nothing! They never returned the call. The third time, I was told the district manager, the regional manager, and the store manager would call me to solve the problem. I called my agent at Allstate. He called Safelite several times and told me Safelite would call me back. They never called. So my experience with the 'safe hands' people is a spoof. They don't do anything to help. One customer service representative advised me to make a new claim and have Allstate replace the windshield again. I told them they made the mistake twice. It's their problem, not Allstate's. I have questions about my rate after 50 years with Allstate and no traffic infractions or claims in more years than I can remember. My car is 14 years old with very high mileage, and I requested to cancel any collision coverage, yet my rate went up again this year. Esurance is an Allstate product. It's the most inexpensive one I could find. I had one claim for vandalism three years back with a dented fender that was a bit of a "cluster," but I finally got a check for a portion of the repair fees. My sketchy and budget-rate renters insurance (MSI) surprised me, and I got a nice reimbursement for a break-in of my car (homeless dude) where a bunch of stuff was stolen and the interior was messed up. I appreciated that and got my car put back in shape. I carry a high-ish deductible ($250), so my new windshield replacement (from vandalism) was not covered ($212).

I am getting a rate increase, yet I have not had any claims or issues with my coverage. Also, I am very dissatisfied with paying a $5.00 fee because I choose not to use automatic electronic payment. While it is said that it is a service to me, it is more a service for ALLSTATE. But either way you sell it, it is a charge to the customer, unfair.

I have been a loyal customer with AllState for years. They had great coverage amounts, including rental cars and roadside assistance. However, in recent years, my premium has doubled and the Drivewise option to supposedly lower costs does not provide any discounts due to it not being flexible enough to consider local driving habits and pedestrians. They treat you poorly and don't stand behind the policy. They try to find things that were wrong with the house before a storm damaged it and blame you for it, even though I had only lived here for nine years. They knew this was an old house and didn't even come out to look at it when I took out the insurance. A tornado came through and destroyed my roof and dining room ceiling, and all they wanted to pay was $600. In truth, they did pay $679, but that's it—nothing else. It cost me $12,999 to get my ceiling fixed. What good is it to have insurance if it doesn't cover the property you're supposed to be covered for? I would tell anybody not to choose Allstate because you're not in good hands with them. That's the price it cost me to get my roof and ceiling fixed. I am 78 years old, and they are treating me poorly.

They told me my policy would be $300-something, and it ended up being $400-something for 6 months, plus my car payment. That's highway robbery! I've never been in an accident or had any tickets.

Allstate recommended their collision service, which provided a repair estimate and promised completion in ten days. They changed the repair to a total loss without our knowledge. The original estimate was $5,800, and the total loss was $14,000. Poor service, poor communication, and we were never contacted by our local representative. The total experience was very poor and several hundred dollars higher than all other companies. Don’t expect recommendations from myself or my wife. This is the poorest service I have ever had with any insurance company!

Don't use this insurance company because they will give you a decent rate in the beginning and the next year increase the premium way too high.
