Disappointed in the rate increases each quarter.

I have always had good experiences with them. If I had a claim, they were prompt with payment. I had friends who used Progressive and it was a problem getting them to pay up. I don’t like State Farm for the same reason. Getting a good discount is not worth it if, when you need to file a claim, you have to fight them in court for your money.

For me, it's too expensive.

Considering how little we use or travel in it, the price is a bit high. We are seniors.

Since I transferred to a new Allstate insurance company in Stockton on Pacific Avenue, I have been impressed. I enjoy being with Allstate. Thank you.

I pay $129.72 monthly to Allstate, which covers my 2005 Honda CRV, 2007 Ford Ranger, and my home insurance. I feel comfortable with them because they have a local office and are readily available for all my concerns. Can you provide the same service at a lower cost?

The price keeps increasing. The discount for good drivers doesn't help at all. Probably the only way to save is not to drive your car at all. Maybe that would be cheaper.

I canceled my Allstate policy due to limited coverage; I should have inquired prior to accepting, but I received excellent customer service from the representative who explained in depth why this was the case. The claim was handled expeditiously and very professionally by Mr. Peterson. Tips for friends: ask questions. My dad was an Allstate customer for many years. Continued success Allstate. Blessings!

Decent but expensive.

Prices rose a lot very quickly and I am one of the safest drivers out there. I was with them for 10 years.

Allstate is one of the worst insurance companies in the US. The customer service can't be any worse in the insurance industry, at least where I have my car's insurance office.

We've had Allstate for many years and just wish they were cheaper. We pay a lot with no claims, etc.

Pay too much for the amount of miles driven yearly.

Coverage for three vehicles was good, but discounts for homeowners were below average considering we have been with them for 8 years. No homeowners claims, and my rate was extremely high for my area. It's time to change to Progressive.

In my search, I found Allstate to be one of the lowest, but I am searching once again for better rates. I may stay with Allstate, but I have a little time to see. Most of these insurance companies that offer low rates don’t include collision coverage, and I want that for sure.

They will increase your rates when it's time to renew your policy, even though you've been a safe driver.

Terrible. My policy was canceled automatically for a declined payment. I had my card closed due to fraud issues and didn’t realize my policy was canceled because I received no notification or phone call, but I was still being charged every month through the automatic withdrawals showing on my statements. That meant I had been driving uninsured for months. I became aware of this because I called to add two more vehicles to my policy and was then told I didn’t have one for the reason above. I bought insurance through General Insurance affiliated with Allstate and called again to ask about adding more vehicles. I was given a quote for $96/month. I agreed, and then I was told she couldn’t offer me that anymore and that I needed to make a payment the next day. Since when do you get a quote, accept it, and then get told it’s no longer offered?

They’ve been good with all the claims I’ve had. It’s just getting expensive—my rates keep going up, even with my home insurance as well.

Worst insurance I’ve ever had. My insurance went up $80 the first month and $50 every month after.

I wouldn’t recommend Allstate at all. They have the worst customer service, and the claims department doesn’t seem to care. They make excuses not to pay.

Horrific—they sent me to collections over a $10 charge for checking my credit report.

Allstate is my current insurance, and they’ve pretty much cost me my house of 36 years. A hidden leak in the kitchen should be basic coverage because without a kitchen, you don’t have a functional home.

All they do is increase the premium. Almost 30 years with them and paying $239 per month on a 22-year-old car.

I had this policy for almost 2 years with Allstate and they never recognized that I did not have uninsured motorist coverage. In a city like Houston, it is imperative that you have that coverage.

I am dealing with a hail storm total loss claim from 4/28/2026. As of today, 6/29/2026, I am still trying to get paperwork and payment. I have spent days, weeks, and an unknown amount of hours trying to resolve the claim. I am unhappy, I have made complaints to the MO insurance board, and I plan to change companies as soon as the claim is closed.

Follow-up is poor. Lower costs are not offered or given as an option unless you ask for it. I will definitely start shopping for alternate coverage with different companies.

Well, I haven't caused any accidents, but I believe it was November 17th or so when one of those big Comed trucks backed into my SUV and did damage to the hood and front side, which needed to be replaced. How I found out was a note from Comed letting me know of the fact! But wait, it gets better because the insurance agent who convinced me to leave State Farm, after narrowing down exactly what I wanted, which included a $500 deductible, input it into the system as a $1000 deductible. So, on the day of my misfortune, I got that bad news as well. Not to mention, they took close to 3 months to get my money back from Comed. So, I'm looking to maybe switch to a better option.

I was happy with Safeco, but they increased my rates after 2 years. So I went shopping. Allstate gave me better rates to get my business, then increased my rates after one year. I'm shopping again and finding much better rates. I've been claim-free for many years and just keep donating.

I had a bad experience with the Burlington WA staff. They never contacted me proactively and continued to collect my money without canceling my policy when I requested it. They also double-billed my roadside assistance. I miss my old Bellingham agent. When he retired, I was transferred to this office.

I am now searching for new auto insurance with a price under $65 per month. That is what Allstate quoted me, but after the $95 initial cost, each month then went to $82.83, so they misled me.

Allstate raised my car insurance rates. When I called to ask why my rates increased, I was told it was because I turned 65! We hadn’t filed a claim in over 15 years, no tickets, nothing! I still work full time, and my husband is retired. I told the agent that was ageism and discrimination. Changed car and homeowners the same day and will save over $1200 a year.

Be prepared for your claim to be denied and then to be treated like a criminal. I've been insured by them since I was 16 and have had three claims my whole life. The third one was denied. They take your money and then don't pay. What's the point? You're not in good hands with Allstate.

Way overpriced. When I asked for a review for a possible rate adjustment, their first question was, "What is your level of education?" What in the world does that have to do with my ability to drive a vehicle?

I've had no claims with them. The ones I had with Allstate didn't work out well at all. The recommended glass company blew me off after several calls to Safelite customer service. They never returned the call. The third time, I was told the district manager, the regional manager, and the store manager would call me to solve the problem. I called my agent at Allstate. He called Safelite several times and told me Safelite would call me back. They never called. So my experience with the 'safe hands' people is a spoof. They don't do anything to help. One customer service representative advised me to make a new claim and have Allstate replace the windshield again. I told them they made the mistake twice. It's their problem, not Allstate's. So I'm trying someone else instead. The only thing I can expect is better service.

I have questions about my rate after 50 years with Allstate and no traffic infractions or claims in more years than I can remember. My car is 14 years old with very high mileage, and I requested to cancel any collision coverage, yet my rate went up again this year. I'm exploring other companies since no one from Allstate responds to me.

Esurance is an Allstate product. It's the most inexpensive one I could find. I had one claim for vandalism three years back with a dented fender that was a bit of a "cluster," but I finally got a check for a portion of the repair fees. My sketchy and budget-rate renters insurance (MSI) surprised me, and I got a nice reimbursement for a break-in of my car (homeless dude) where a bunch of stuff was stolen and the interior was messed up. I appreciated that and got my car put back in shape. I carry a high-ish deductible ($250), so my new windshield replacement (from vandalism) was not covered ($212).

I am getting a rate increase, yet I have not had any claims or issues with my coverage. Also, I am very dissatisfied with paying a $5.00 fee because I choose not to use automatic electronic payment. While it is said that it is a service to me, it is more a service for ALLSTATE. But either way you sell it, it is a charge to the customer, unfair.

I'm very disappointed because I drove all the way to Florida and then to Ohio and back to Vermont, and my Drivewise wasn't working, so I didn't get any discount on my premium. So, actually, I'm shopping around for another insurance provider.

Don't use Allstate if you can help it. I have a 1996 Chevrolet Silverado with full coverage because I can't afford to replace it if anything happens. It costs me $151.99 per month.

They do a fair job on payouts, but the rates are high for older cars.
