He called Safelite several times and told me Safelite would call me back. They never called. So my experience with the 'safe hands' people is a spoof. They don't do anything to help. One customer service representative advised me to make a new claim and have Allstate replace the windshield again. I told them they made the mistake twice. It's their problem, not Allstate's. I had one claim for vandalism three years back with a dented fender that was a bit of a "cluster," but I finally got a check for a portion of the repair fees. My sketchy and budget-rate renters insurance (MSI) surprised me, and I got a nice reimbursement for a break-in of my car (homeless dude) where a bunch of stuff was stolen and the interior was messed up. I appreciated that and got my car put back in shape. I carry a high-ish deductible ($250), so my new windshield replacement (from vandalism) was not covered ($212).
