I’m happy with Allstate. I had my first horrible car accident, and I was told it was my fault. It was my first car accident ever at age 70, with no tickets and no DWIs. My car was totaled. I was really hoping this accident would be excused since it was my first. I’ve had a driver’s license since I was 16 and have been insured all those years, always with full coverage. I guess the commercial on TV isn’t meant for me. I’m just very disappointed.

I haven’t been with them for more than a year, but so far they’ve been good.

I have good coverage with them, and I’ve been happy overall. It’s just that insurance keeps going up, and I’m on a limited income. With everything going up, it’s hard to afford it. I’m 80 and I have a good driving record. I don’t want to have to give up my car, but it looks like I may have to. I’ve checked other companies, but they are higher and the coverage is not as good as what I have.

I have always had good experiences with them. If I had a claim, they were prompt with payment. I had friends who used Progressive and it was a problem getting them to pay up. I don’t like State Farm for the same reason. Getting a good discount is not worth it if, when you need to file a claim, you have to fight them in court for your money.

It seemed like a pretty good price for the two vehicles we were insuring, but the next time it was due for renewal, it quickly went up. I wasn’t too happy with that, and there were no accidents.

I pay $129.72 monthly to Allstate, which covers my 2005 Honda CRV, 2007 Ford Ranger, and my home insurance. I feel comfortable with them because they have a local office and are readily available for all my concerns. Can you provide the same service at a lower cost?

The price keeps going higher and higher. The good driver discount doesn’t help at all. It probably would only be cheaper if you didn’t drive your car at all.

I canceled my Allstate policy due to limited coverage. I should have asked before accepting it, but I received excellent customer service from the representative, who explained in depth why this was the case. The claim was handled quickly and very professionally. Tip for friends: ask questions. My dad was an Allstate customer for many years. Continued success, Allstate.

Decent but expensive.

I wouldn’t recommend Allstate to anyone. They haven’t done anything to help me out. I sent in a receipt for a tow after someone ran me off the road and into a ditch, but they never reimbursed me for it. They said they never received it. There’s so much more!

My coverage went up to $3,200 per year. I’ve never had an accident and I’ve never gotten a ticket. One truck doesn’t even run, but I kept the cheapest insurance on it. I’ll be searching soon for cheaper insurance.

Absolutely horrible. I spoke with an agent and insured four of my vehicles with them. We finalized the price of the policy, and as soon as I bought it, it went up an extra $100. No explanation. I tried to contact them again by email, but nothing was answered.

They raised the rates after the first year.

Not good. We got a great rate and saved a lot, but right off the bat we were supposed to download their app and have it monitor our driving. The problem was there was no way they could tell if we were riding with someone else, and the website was iffy. We were told the price would go up if we didn't use the app, and it did—an additional $85 per 6 months. Now they sent me an email saying it will go up again if we don't take 50 more trips in our car before the payment is due again. That’s in 2 months. We’re retired, and the car sits sometimes for days without being used, so I’m looking again.

We never get a copy of our insurance. We’re supposed to print our own copy from the website, but we can never get on their site.

There’s nothing good about charging a senior high insurance, especially if they have a good driving record. I have no violations or tickets, and I don’t travel far from home—my trips are to doctor’s appointments and the grocery store, which is less than 15 miles. No, I wouldn’t recommend you to any senior on a fixed income who only has one car. Goodbye.

It’s very hard to get an answer.

Terrible. My policy was canceled automatically for a declined payment. I had my card closed due to fraud issues and didn’t realize my policy was canceled because I received no notification or phone call, but I was still being charged every month through the automatic withdrawals showing on my statements. That meant I had been driving uninsured for months. I became aware of this because I called to add two more vehicles to my policy and was then told I didn’t have one for the reason above. I bought insurance through General Insurance affiliated with Allstate and called again to ask about adding more vehicles. I was given a quote for $96/month. I agreed, and then I was told she couldn’t offer me that anymore and that I needed to make a payment the next day. Since when do you get a quote, accept it, and then get told it’s no longer offered?

They’ve been good with all the claims I’ve had. It’s just getting expensive—my rates keep going up, even with my home insurance as well.

Worst insurance I’ve ever had. My insurance went up $80 the first month and $50 every month after.

Horrific—they sent me to collections over a $10 charge for checking my credit report.

I had this policy for almost 2 years with Allstate and they never recognized that I did not have uninsured motorist coverage. In a city like Houston, it is imperative that you have that coverage.

I am dealing with a hail storm total loss claim from 4/28/2026. As of today, 6/29/2026, I am still trying to get paperwork and payment. I have spent days, weeks, and an unknown amount of hours trying to resolve the claim. I am unhappy, I have made complaints to the MO insurance board, and I plan to change companies as soon as the claim is closed.

Follow-up is poor. Lower costs are not offered or given as an option unless you ask for it. I will definitely start shopping for alternate coverage with different companies.

Well, I haven't caused any accidents, but I believe it was November 17th or so when one of those big Comed trucks backed into my SUV and did damage to the hood and front side, which needed to be replaced. How I found out was a note from Comed letting me know of the fact! But wait, it gets better because the insurance agent who convinced me to leave State Farm, after narrowing down exactly what I wanted, which included a $500 deductible, input it into the system as a $1000 deductible. So, on the day of my misfortune, I got that bad news as well. Not to mention, they took close to 3 months to get my money back from Comed. So, I'm looking to maybe switch to a better option.
