I'm very happy with my current car insurance company. After being a loyal policyholder with Farmers for over 20 years, Allstate has been awesome.

I am a senior citizen on a fixed income with no car wrecks, no DUI, and I drive a 2010 vehicle. I pay $600 every 6 months.

I didn't know that the policy was written in a way that it didn't cover the item when you first receive it. I was told that I needed to have the manufacturer involved first. I have tried contacting them, but they have not returned my phone calls. It's been frustrating.

They raise your premium significantly every 6 months. I drive about 5,000 miles a year. The vehicle sits in the garage 85% of the time. I have had one claim my entire driving existence that cost under $1,500 (driving for 30 years since 1995) and that occurred in 2017. So no claims in 9 years. It is ridiculous that my premium goes up every 6 months.

I have been with Allstate for over 40 years. I don't know how to compare them with anyone else. The claim handling has been good.

I am currently with All-State and I have been with them for about 25 years. I have only one complaint: I am an 81-year-old man living on a fixed income. I drive less than 25 miles a week and only use my vehicle to go to the doctor and grocery store. I am looking for a cheaper alternative. I retired 10 years ago and my wife passed away last year, so please find me a cheaper rate.

Well, even though I’ve never spoken to my “agent,” whenever I call Allstate, the representatives who answer are knowledgeable and friendly. It dismays me that the Allstate charges continue to climb each year and sometimes at the end of each of the covered 6 months!

I have had no problems with Allstate.

Originally, it was very good, both pricing and especially the agency customer service. Now, the pricing is way too high. I have shopped and will be moving my coverage elsewhere.

The only bad problem is the cost. I rarely drive because I'm at home - retired. The only places I go are church, the grocery store, and Walmart.

It's so easy for insurance companies to give you a lower quote. They just gut your policy.

So far, Allstate is the cheapest for the monthly premium. Everybody else is $20, $30, or $40 higher and up on price.

We found that Allstate had the best coverage for our needs.

I think I could get a lower rate without paying for the agent's commission, especially since I don't put a lot of mileage on the vehicle each year.

It was great until I got another car, and now I'm being charged more. I've been looking around to save money, and I found four options that can save me. I'm being charged 83 bucks a month, but I found the same coverage for 48 bucks a month, which is 35 dollars less than what I'm paying now with Allstate.

Allstate is more expensive than alternatives. They also don't provide coverage for RVs or motorcycles.

Rates keep going up without notice!

It's on you, my friend, if you want them, but I would shop around and do your homework. If you ever file a claim and later decide not to use them, they won't let you. The prices are way too high for someone who has never had an accident, has multiple cars on the plan, and a home.

I would look around for something else because I pay over $1,500 every 6 months for 2 cars. One is a 2015 Equinox and one is a 2020 Equinox.

Beware of sudden rate increases without warning and no ability to negotiate.

It's okay at first to get you into the billing cycle, and then it goes up every year to where you can't afford it. But it's okay.

I maintained an auto insurance policy with Allstate for several years and, while my overall risk profile was very low (single vehicle, married couple in our 60s), the premium was extremely high. By the end of the policy, Allstate’s pricing was nearly five times higher than my new insurer for comparable coverage. The one claim I did make—a windscreen replacement—was handled efficiently and professionally, with no issues in the claims process. However, despite satisfactory service on that occasion, the ongoing cost of coverage was simply not justifiable given my low-risk status, ultimately leading me to change insurers.

Well, I’ve never had to use my insurance, so my main complaint is that they keep raising their rates way too high. Otherwise, I don’t know how well they perform or how good my policy is because I’ve never had a claim. My only issue has been with the rates.

Allstate does nothing for good, safe drivers who have never processed a claim, or for senior citizens. The policy keeps going higher and higher. I would never recommend them to a friend.

Car insurance has been okay. When I got a quote for adding a vehicle and driver, the quoted price was quite a bit lower than the actual price, which is why I am shopping. I also found they logged an accident with LexisNexis as our fault, but the claim says it is not our fault.

They were great until they increased one of my policies by 73 percent - which was a policy that never had a claim.

Very disappointing. Rates are constantly increasing. No DUI, tickets, or accidents. Started at a little over $200/month. Now almost $400. Nothing has changed with our coverage.

I have Milewise and barely drive, so Milewise does not go by the mileage you drive. It's expensive for not very good coverage.

They keep raising rates. I started out paying $87.40 a month, and now I'm paying $171.36 a month.

You give no reason as to why my insurance rate went up by over $400. If I hadn't received a $200 safe driver's credit, my cost would have been $1,200 every 6 months. I feel like we have to pay for those who don't have insurance but cause accidents. Meanwhile, safe drivers like me face higher rates. I realize this may mean nothing to you.

They come in with a low rate, and before you know it, you are paying double. They also won’t provide a quote while you're still a member. I would stay if they were competitive. It costs more than double compared to other rates.

Very unpleasant after 40 plus years. They will not work with me on pricing to match or come close to other companies. I had 4 cars, now down to 3, and soon will leave. Plus, I have my home and an umbrella policy, which I will probably cancel with Allstate.

Allstate isn't a company I'd recommend. I had someone call and give me a quote, from whom I purchased a policy. However, about a week later, I contacted her by email with questions. She failed to get back to me. I called and left messages, which she didn't reply to. I called the main customer service number for Allstate and explained that I thought she was an agent. However, she wasn't; she was only someone on the sales team who had contacted me to try and sell me a policy. I complained to the CSR that we didn't have an agent. So, there was an Allstate agent assigned in the same town my partner and I live in, who I was told would be contacting us in the next several days. That never happened. I eventually contacted the assigned agent's office. Nobody answered. Several hours later, someone did finally call back.

My insurance rates increased significantly due to an accident that wasn't my fault. Now I have to pay more.

State Farm saved me $1,500 a year. They gave me discounts that reflect my low driving mileage.

I was still being charged for a car I traded in, plus the newer car. My home insurance didn’t have the needed coverage, which I had brought up a year before.

Terrible service. They do everything they can to rip you off on a claim. I had a quote to repair damage on my car for $2,435, but their quote to repair, based on pictures of the damage, was $500. How do you repair that kind of damage on a BMW for $500? Pure rip-off. I plan on canceling my policy when renewal time comes up.

Not good. I'm now looking to change to another company because I switched vehicles. I was in a 2001. Now I'm in a 2000. Same type of vehicle. Rates went up $30. No tickets. No DUIs. Nothing changed except the price went up 30 bucks a month.

Our experience was good until we changed cars. The new car was close in cost for coverage, but our other costs increased because of the change. That is the reason we are leaving Allstate and have found insurance elsewhere.

Allstate prices are about double other companies for the same coverage.

When I called them, they informed me about my payment. When I mentioned that I have LoJack, they said they do not accept that.

They charge $68 a month when I'm out of town up north, and increase it to $140 when I come down to use it once a week to go shopping. It feels unfair.

They sent my auto insurance policy that I purchased in October 2025 along with my monthly premium for the next six months, which was $128+. I had a November payment of $128+. In December, my payment jumped to $160.00. I cancelled and got a better insurance.

The price keeps going up. I only drive about 100 miles a month on average.

My Allstate experience was great until my agent retired. My policy was moved to someone significantly further away, even though there was an agent closer. I couldn't get a quote online after being told by them to do it online, and my policy is about 30% higher than most. On top of everything, it's all outsourced and no one speaks English.

Allstate told me I would pay a certain amount, but it's always twice that price. They don't listen when you try to talk to them.

I never receive calls about updates or increases. I've been a loyal customer for over 40 years. As seniors with no tickets, accidents, or home issues, we're still paying $1,200 every 6 months for car insurance, and house insurance is coming close to $16,000 a year. I need to find time for a better agent. I'm a disabled veteran on a limited income.

Safeco is a great company for auto insurance, but I had a bad experience with their homeowners insurance. I had hail damage three years ago, and they did not pay anything. I was disappointed with their service.

The rates go up every 6 months when the policy renews. The only way you can get any kind of break is by allowing them to track your every move while driving and do everything by computer. I guess they are trying to save trees.

It's a great insurance, just think the cost is too high.
