My agent is great. I haven’t had any claims.

For the cheapest rates around that I can find. They always greet me by name.

I started with them more than 35 years ago. I got tired of calling and begging them to lower our monthly payment. They listed me as having a claim when I tapped a car in a parking lot. I was honest and sat in my car for over an hour waiting for this lady to come out when she tried to say I caused all this damage that had rust in the dents. I took excellent pictures of all her damage. She didn't pursue, and apparently, it is still on my record. It is ridiculous! That is not why we left. It was money. I found out about the claim later. They were always very nice to me with deer hits and if I needed help at all with my account. However, when they are charging more than twice Geico and 0.75% more than Progressive, I had to switch.

Shop around credible insurers.

My agents have always been very nice when I call.

I have been with SF for over 8 years. At the time, they had the lowest rates, and even now their rates are still better than quotes received currently. I enjoy all the perks and discounts available to me for being a good driver for over 50 years. I love the customer service, and although my rates have risen slightly in the last few years, I feel comfortable knowing I am with a reputable firm that keeps me posted on all the variables associated with my policy. I cannot honestly give advice to anyone seeking car insurance; I just know I am content with being a policyholder. Things are wild in everything these days, but I enjoy knowing I can pick up the phone and get immediate answers from a person that knows and understands my needs.

I have had no claims. Low mileage, driver safety certificates, car garaged, excellent credit, bundled with homeowners. My monthly auto rate has gone up $30/month in 3 years. I think they underinsured my home. When I asked the agent for details about the auto increase, he had someone 'regional' call me instead of reaching out himself.

If you get into an accident and go to a shop of your choice outside of their network, it will take a long time to get your car approved and to track down where the money went. Perhaps the claim should be sent through the B2B portal, and then it sits until it gets assigned to be reviewed. Maybe they set up a virtual review, or perhaps they simply go off the estimator's email. It's random every time. And once it is approved, good luck making sure the body shop gets the money.

When I needed help, my agent was great! But the intake call and assigned adjuster were not. Beyond poor communication and inability to assist, the adjuster was put off by my questions. She did not communicate beyond automatic emails and didn’t care about assisting me. I would not use this company again.

My agent failed to be transparent with me about the life insurance policy he sold me. It’s not effective for two entire years! But he really led me to believe it would cover us right away. I just bought enough to cover funeral expenses. When I got the paperwork, I confronted him, and he said, "Oh, two years before it covers is standard practice." I was pretty upset. I felt he was sly and dishonest. That's exactly what I've told my friends.

I've been with them for over 40 years, but they say that they can't give me any more discounts, that I already have all I can get. I am 67 years of age, haven't had any accidents or DUIs in a very long time, decades, that should count for something. I pay my bill on time every time. I also have my house insurance with them.

You better think twice before going with State Farm. They increase rates from the time you get it until you can’t afford it. I pay $118 a month and have a perfect driving record. Money grubbers.

Poor. A roofer told me it looked like I had hail damage, so I called my State Farm agent. He sent a roofer representative to inspect my roof. The representative said I had no damage, so no claim was made and no repair was done. Later on, I contacted other insurance companies, and they said I had a claim made on my insurance, which would result in higher rates. State Farm did not pay me anything for roof repair, but they made a claim on my insurance.

The insurance is too expensive. Agents earn a commission, so they tend to promote more coverage. I've been a good driver all my life, and I'm 69 years old. After an accident in July 2023, my insurance increased by almost $200, which is more than I've ever paid.

They keep increasing rates for no explainable reason other than to cover the cost of their payouts to other customers. They punish you for claims even if it's not your fault, like hurricane damage or other drivers hitting you.

State Farm sent me a letter stating that they were canceling my collision and towing and labor costs effective 10-28-2025. The reason they gave was that they could not verify that my husband had a driver's license. He was told by a patrolman that he has 2 years to get his license renewed.

All I can say is after the first 6 months, they raised the prices by 100 dollars.

Rates increase, service quality decreases, company profits increase, claims paid far less than profits, yet rates just doubled for umbrella policy.

I've been with State Farm since the early '80s. Service and claims have been good, but over the last few years, they stopped sending me bills in the mail and are forcing me to pay online. Also, my premium has increased steadily without a corresponding increase in value. I'm paying too much considering my driving record.

There are never any discounts. I read that there were discounts for members over 75, but my agent never notified me of any discounts. I am seriously thinking about changing to another company, where I can get a discount. My prices have also gone up, without any accidents, no traffic tickets, and I drive less than 12 miles every other day. Something is wrong with this. I have been with State Farm for more than 40 years. They used to cover my home and auto until they stopped covering homes in Florida. In all that time, I had one or two minor claims that were handled by my agent and handled very well. Watch out for their driver tracking device needed to qualify for a discount. They want access to your personal online accounts and bank account.

Having multiple vehicles and State Farm bundles them so payments come due at the same time, which puts a burden on folks with a fixed income. I plan on changing companies.
