I'm paying almost $700 for a 6-month renewal, while other companies are displaying 6-month renewals as low as $175. Please tell me how this can be. At this point, I am thinking of going to insurance for veterans that give a better rate.

I would recommend my State Farm Agent in Webster NY
My State Farm Insurance agent is the reason I have stayed with State Farm for over 30 years. They are helpful when I need answers and fast with changing my policy when I ask. I haven’t had a lot of claims, but the ones I have had have been resolved quickly.

SF Rating
I have had no problems with SF up until now. Claims handling was great. My problem is knowing I can get insurance much cheaper as I am 70 years old. All over the internet and email is information on how seniors can get car and home insurance very low. As I have mine through an agent, they say that is why it's so high.

State Farm User for 53 Years
I have been using State Farm for car, auto, life, personal belongings, and umbrella insurance since 1975 and have always been very satisfied, except with the repairs from a water leak. The leak was repaired correctly, but the floor repair by a company recommended by State Farm ruined our floor and cannot be refinished again because the company sanded the floor incorrectly. This probably lowered the value of our home.

Overpaying for Insurance
I have been with State Farm Insurance from 1967 to 2026, which would be 59 years, minus 2 1/2 years I was in the military. State Farm Insurance was always great to me, and I always had a local State Farm Insurance office and agent that made everything simple. I did enjoy having that kind of experience and service. After all the years that I’ve been with them and asking if there was any way that I could qualify for a reduced rate and being told no so quickly or without checking made my blood boil. I’ve been hearing this for years, “If you have an insurance agent you’re throwing your money away.” After contacting a number of insurance companies and getting insurance quotes for the same type of coverage, I’m finding that I have been paying premiums that were way too high. I can save $1,500-$1,750 a year for the same type of coverage, not dealing with an insurance agent. That’s a lot of money, so I started looking for insurance companies that can give me better rates for the same coverage I had.

Great Insurance, Great People
I feel they are a great company, but I am having trouble with money nowadays. Everything is so expensive, and I wish insurance was cheaper. They’ve always been great at handling everything on the phone. They are very polite both in person and on the phone, and they treat you like an individual person, not just another number in a book or a paycheck. They actually have wonderful people skills and communication skills. I just wish it was somewhat cheaper, but I guess you could say that about everything from insurance to groceries these days.

Totaled Damaged Vehicle - Lowest Payment
I'm disappointed in the claims department. They paid less than the vehicle was worth. There were no adjustments for new tires, which should have been removed from the totaled auto. Unexpected Rate Increases
I don't like how they just raise the insurance rates for no reason and without notifying you. I have a perfect driving record and still receive no discounts on car insurance. I also have no claims on my house insurance, yet when my gutters were damaged by a storm and my front fell completely off, it disappeared from my yard the next morning. People are always looking for things to take to the scrap yard. I didn't want to file a claim because when you do, they raise your insurance to recoup their money. It's a bad way to do business.

How about low-mileage, clean record Senior Citizen households?
Being on a household plan does provide a lower premium, which is good. However, I'm a senior citizen living on Social Security and drive an average of only 2,500 miles per year. I have no accidents and no DUIs but still pay $57 per month for only 60/30 Liability, which increases yearly. It seems like there should be a better household plan with a lower premium for my circumstances.

Auto Claims Which Are Not Correct
The insurance claim agents never look at the accidents to see when the claimants overcharge State Farm. State Farm never investigates the claims fairly because they will never leave their computers to check out what is true or false. State Farm paid $18,000 for a fender bender I had in SF in 2021 because I ran into an older car in front of me. That was ridiculous.

Frustrated with Policy Cancellation
They are canceling my policy, so I'd give them a zero! I've had a great record for 50 years. No tickets, no accidents, always paid on time, good credit score, CDL for 30 years. I had an accident where I was an innocent bystander. It totaled my car of 18 years. It hurt! Then I got a different car, and it got keyed. So I turned it in. Had no idea it was strike three, you're out. I'm hurt, I'm angry. I paid $93 a month for full coverage, including renters. Now I'm looking at $400 a month or just liability. No renters! I won't ever refer anyone to them. I've taken two sons and my granddaughter. I hope they go elsewhere. Everyone says State Farm is notorious for this.

Too expensive for us, but it is a bundle. It feels like their customer service is not as good as when we first began using it 25 years ago. Their roadside service is not always up to par. Not a Happy Camper!
They did not fight for me when I had a backing out accident in a bank parking lot, backing into another car at the same time she backed into me. Her car had previous damage she claimed I caused, and the only damage I had was the white paint from her car that I only had to wipe off. Meaning, there was no way my car could have caused that damage. Then, years later, I got T-boned in an intersection, in a neighborhood, with an eyewitness saying I was hit. Nada, nothing again. His insurance had lapsed. They have gotten way too high also. There's no way I should be paying $224.00 for a 2010 Honda Insight!

Unfair practice by State Farm
They are hundreds of dollars more on their homeowners and car insurance. We had to get a new roof due to a storm, and I got 3 bids ranging from $9,400 to $10,700, but State Farm would only pay $7,823. The thing is, I have a full replacement policy. Sad.

Rating: 1 / 10 Reason: From the start, I experienced repeated and unexplained rate changes by the initial agent, incorrect handling of coverage, constant pricing adjustments, and serious billing errors, including refunds followed by duplicate charges. The service was inconsistent, unreliable, and poorly managed. Only one staff member demonstrated competence. For that reason alone, I would rate the experience a 2 rather than a 1. I remained with State Farm based on strong recommendations regarding the new agent. I hope he will demonstrate professionalism, ethical conduct, and maintain consistent and transparent rates going forward.

Why is coverage so expensive?
It's expensive for people who have NEVER had an accident, ticket, OR DUI. I keep my car in top condition. I'm an 84-year-old senior citizen with a clean driving record all around, yet I'm still not rewarded. The company is supposed to partner with the state for cheaper insurance for people over 50 years old. Is this true? I saw it on my phone. God bless.

Not happy but with few options
I understand I live in an area which can cause my insurance to go up. However, going up $100 every 6 months is ridiculous. No accidents, no tickets, no DUIs. The only claim I ever made was on a previous vehicle under this insurance for a windshield replacement. My car is over 10 years old, paid for, and driven less than 5 miles a day. According to the agent I was assigned, I had to have the same coverage for uninsured motorists as I do. I'm already paying through the nose for uninsured motorist coverage. Why do I have to have coverage the same as mine? Unfortunately, all the others I contacted aren't any better.

State Farm 40+ Years Customer
I have had State Farm for over 40 years. No accidents, no tickets. I drive less than 7k per year, only for pleasure driving, because I work from home. Before COVID-19, we paid around $1,400 per year for two vehicles. Today, this is $2,500 per year. I could understand if we were bad drivers, but only a windshield replacement 5 years ago is our only claim. I am ready to move to a company that recognizes good drivers and gives breaks because we are good drivers. Throw in condo walls insurance too.
