You get what you pay for!

I like State Farm because they work with you to get the lowest payment ever.

I've always had a good experience with any claims or problems.

They are great. I couldn't ask for better car insurance. I've been with them for a few years and I never change to anyone else. They are an excellent car insurance company and they treat you well.

The price is excellent. I have full coverage cheaper than any other insurance company's PLPD. The problem is their roadside assistance. They NEVER have an "available provider" no matter where I am. This leads me to believe they don't have any tow companies they contract with, so you have to pay upfront and be reimbursed. It's a pain. I pay for roadside so I don't have to pay upfront for a tow.

My deductible was supposed to be $100.00. When I got my newest paperwork, it showed a $500.00 deductible. They tried to pull a fast one on me! I'm going to drop Progressive on the first of December!

Yes, I will tell my friends and family members about State Farm.

Friendly and great rates. They are upfront, honest, and caring about their clients. The claims department is quick to take care of claims. Overall, I am very happy with State Farm.

I started with them more than 35 years ago. I got tired of calling and begging them to lower our monthly payment. They listed me as having a claim when I tapped a car in a parking lot. I was honest and sat in my car for over an hour waiting for this lady to come out when she tried to say I caused all this damage that had rust in the dents. I took excellent pictures of all her damage. She didn't pursue, and apparently, it is still on my record. It is ridiculous! That is not why we left. It was money. I found out about the claim later. They were always very nice to me with deer hits and if I needed help at all with my account. However, when they are charging more than twice Geico and 0.75% more than Progressive, I had to switch.

Shop around credible insurers.

My agents have always been very nice when I call.

They have great customer service when you need them. If you have an accident, they take care of everything. I haven't had to deal with them with a claim on my house at all, just car stuff. But my premiums keep rising every year, even if nothing has happened, and they're very high.

Stand your ground on what coverage you want and don’t let an agency, like Progressive, tell you they won’t sell you what you want.

It keeps going up and up, yet when I bundle my homeowners with auto, they always come out on top.

They get you in with a low rate, then after a couple of years, they increase your price.

Payouts on total loss are slow.

They paid quickly, directly to the tow service and the mechanic. That was good for the mechanic and the tow people. The insurance company of the person who hit me was very hard to deal with, and State Farm was little to no help to me with them. I had to beg State Farm to contact the other company, Dairyland/Sentry of Wisconsin, who were unbelievably awful. I had to repeatedly submit the same information and forms to them. Maybe it's not important, but never, not once, did I hear from my agent through the 15 months it took to settle. I may change companies after this is said and done. I want an agent who has some time for me when I'm in trouble.

I think their pricing is too high. I'm a single woman driving less than 300 miles a month.

No blanket policy found when we needed it. Farm equipment not fully covered. Had it before with another company.

They are all too expensive for senior drivers. I drive less than 500 miles a month, and the state wants $150 a month. No tickets or accidents in 5 years.

I work from home, have my groceries delivered, and really don’t drive anywhere. I have liability insurance and still pay $80/month. If I didn’t need any insurance coverage just in case, I would not have any insurance. Full coverage was costing me $117/month. Not a happy camper when it comes to the inflation going on and no increase in income.

State Farm has pretty good rates, but the office I deal with is not too friendly. I don't hear from them at all! I have to call them if I have a question to ask. I don't like that, but I like the price!

They are very good with claims but very expensive. They increase rates every six months. This year, it's well over a thousand dollars, even with no tickets, no DWIs, and no accidents!

I have had no claims. Low mileage, driver safety certificates, car garaged, excellent credit, bundled with homeowners. My monthly auto rate has gone up $30/month in 3 years. I think they underinsured my home. When I asked the agent for details about the auto increase, he had someone 'regional' call me instead of reaching out himself.

They don't pay when you have a flood. $5000 expense on me. No help. Customer for 10 years.

I made 2 claims in 11 years; they denied both.

If you get into an accident and go to a shop of your choice outside of their network, it will take a long time to get your car approved and to track down where the money went. Perhaps the claim should be sent through the B2B portal, and then it sits until it gets assigned to be reviewed. Maybe they set up a virtual review, or perhaps they simply go off the estimator's email. It's random every time. And once it is approved, good luck making sure the body shop gets the money.

When I needed help, my agent was great! But the intake call and assigned adjuster were not. Beyond poor communication and inability to assist, the adjuster was put off by my questions. She did not communicate beyond automatic emails and didn’t care about assisting me. I would not use this company again.

My agent failed to be transparent with me about the life insurance policy he sold me. It’s not effective for two entire years! But he really led me to believe it would cover us right away. I just bought enough to cover funeral expenses. When I got the paperwork, I confronted him, and he said, "Oh, two years before it covers is standard practice." I was pretty upset. I felt he was sly and dishonest. That's exactly what I've told my friends.

Lowest rate I could find.

I've been with them for over 40 years, but they say that they can't give me any more discounts, that I already have all I can get. I am 67 years of age, haven't had any accidents or DUIs in a very long time, decades, that should count for something. I pay my bill on time every time. I also have my house insurance with them.

You better think twice before going with State Farm. They increase rates from the time you get it until you can’t afford it. I pay $118 a month and have a perfect driving record. Money grubbers.

They're too expensive. It seems they go up every other month. I didn't even have decent coverage like roadside service or towing.

They were unhelpful in the wake of the pandemic when the shortage of auto parts led to long waits for repairs. There was no flexibility regarding lender vehicles or rentals.

Poor. A roofer told me it looked like I had hail damage, so I called my State Farm agent. He sent a roofer representative to inspect my roof. The representative said I had no damage, so no claim was made and no repair was done. Later on, I contacted other insurance companies, and they said I had a claim made on my insurance, which would result in higher rates. State Farm did not pay me anything for roof repair, but they made a claim on my insurance.

The insurance is too expensive. Agents earn a commission, so they tend to promote more coverage. I've been a good driver all my life, and I'm 69 years old. After an accident in July 2023, my insurance increased by almost $200, which is more than I've ever paid.

They keep increasing rates for no explainable reason other than to cover the cost of their payouts to other customers. They punish you for claims even if it's not your fault, like hurricane damage or other drivers hitting you.

State Farm sent me a letter stating that they were canceling my collision and towing and labor costs effective 10-28-2025. The reason they gave was that they could not verify that my husband had a driver's license. He was told by a patrolman that he has 2 years to get his license renewed.

All I can say is after the first 6 months, they raised the prices by 100 dollars.

Rates increase, service quality decreases, company profits increase, claims paid far less than profits, yet rates just doubled for umbrella policy.

I've been with State Farm since the early '80s. Service and claims have been good, but over the last few years, they stopped sending me bills in the mail and are forcing me to pay online. Also, my premium has increased steadily without a corresponding increase in value. I'm paying too much considering my driving record.

There are never any discounts. I read that there were discounts for members over 75, but my agent never notified me of any discounts. I am seriously thinking about changing to another company, where I can get a discount. My prices have also gone up, without any accidents, no traffic tickets, and I drive less than 12 miles every other day. Something is wrong with this. The insurance agents are getting the money and I am paying for that!

Check others out first. Their rates go up, and my driving is less than 5 miles a day with no senior rates.

Premiums are too high for someone who has a 15-year-old car and no accidents.

State Farm can't give me correct rate information. The declaration page says one thing and the billing says another.

I have been with State Farm for more than 40 years. They used to cover my home and auto until they stopped covering homes in Florida. In all that time, I had one or two minor claims that were handled by my agent and handled very well. When I needed to file a recent claim for being t-boned by an uninsured driver who ran a red light, the claim was handled by a central office that never returned calls, lowballed everything, and still has not reimbursed me for car rental expenses, towing charges, etc. They are not my good neighbor.
