Reasonably efficient.

I am very cautious about giving out personal information. He handled it very well and explained why he needed it to help me. He did very well in answering my questions about my billing. I am shopping for better pricing. Ten-year-old vehicles that we drive maybe 2-3 times a week at most shouldn’t cost $600-$700 every 6 months. My GMC Arcadia sat in the garage for 3 weeks last month. I drove it 165 miles this week. I rode my trike 4 times, maybe 800 miles this summer.

They are a great company. The only problem I have is that we had a no-fault claim, and it increased my payment.

Every year they raise the cost of my policy with no claims, tickets, or DUI. I need something cheaper.

I've been with Progressive for 20 years. It's not the cheapest, but you do get what you pay for. In times of trouble, they've always been there for us. Peace of mind is worth more than a few bucks in savings. Every time I go shopping to compare quotes, none can beat the price/coverage I already have with them. So I'm sticking around with them for now!

All the car insurance rates are way too high, even higher than in NY or NJ. I save all year from my Social Security to pay to cover having a car. That’s a disgrace, especially for us older citizens with no accidents or DUIs.

Prices rise year after year. When I get an arbitrary quote for exactly what I have, it's much less. Like most insurance companies, they lowball to get the business.

I've had comprehensive claims, and they were always handled well with no issues.

Their lack of customer information is extremely poor. It caused issues with my renewal amount and an increase when I fixed the issue of why it went up.

I feel Progressive is too high. As a longtime customer, I don't feel they give any consideration to senior citizens.

Overall, a typical insurance company with all your common options and coverages, with a program supposedly created to reward safe drivers with lower premiums. The online interface is easy to use and offers customers the ability to see policy details readily. However, I was personally disappointed in the company's lack of transparency regarding changes in monthly premiums. Without warning and while on autopay, my premium was increased by $20, which I unknowingly paid for two months in a row before noticing on my bank statement. This was reason enough for me to seek a new insurance carrier.

They decided to add my son to the policy because he was 23 but doesn't have a license. They then deducted a double payment and now I'm still waiting for paperwork to fill out so they can take him off, which I didn't have to do when they added him without my consent.

It was good until I had a claim and my premium almost doubled. That is why I will be insuring with AAA when my policy expires. Evidently, my loyalty to Progressive in the past is not worth much.

A $500 deductible made replacing a cracked windshield prohibitively expensive! I had to make do with a DIY repair kit, which resulted in unsatisfying results.

I would tell a friend to shop for a different company. The cost is exorbitant for someone who drives less than 3,000 miles a year, and that monitor that's supposed to help me save money beeps when I'm sitting still. It's frustrating. I'm trying to shop for better coverage at a lower cost.

They sign you on at a good rate, but then it goes up at renewal. The rates are too high.

Recently, my car was broken into. The back window was busted out, and there was damage to the driver's door handle. I filed my claim and waited to hear from someone because my claim was assigned to someone, but they didn’t reach out to me about anything. I had to call to get the repair fixed on my car. To top it all off, they don’t provide a rental or reimburse me for the rental at all. So, because someone tried to steal my vehicle, I'm out over $600.00 to get my car fixed, and they haven’t even reached out to me to see how anything is going. The only time I talked to someone from Progressive was when I called them. That’s not how you keep people in your business. I am looking for a different company.

Deceiving, at first cheaper, then ends up the same or worse in terms of cost.

I'm kind of disappointed. I had a snapshot on my vehicles and was supposed to get a credit on renewal, but instead, I got a $300 increase. I tried communicating with them, but was shut down. No discount and a 'take it or leave it' response.

They keep trying to add drivers to my policy who don't drive my vehicle. I called, emailed, used their app, and even wrote a letter. They still added other drivers and raised my rate.

There was an attempted break-in on my 2013 Nissan where the cargo window was smashed inward. I ended up paying $650 out of my own pocket because they said I didn't have comprehensive coverage in my policy. I wasn't aware there was such a policy. I wondered what my monthly premium was actually covering. I live on a fixed income, so this has created a hardship for me.

Avoid signing up for the safe driver app. The data they collect is inaccurate and used to raise policy prices at the end of the term, even if you have no claims or accidents.

Don't get Progressive Insurance; they increase your premium without any reason.

They lowball you on claims. They are impossible to get a hold of when you have claims against other Progressive customers and take their time to pay out. They lie and say they aren’t supposed to pay certain things like taxes and contradict each other. I had been with them for years and my rates were ridiculous. My son lives with his dad and I was made to add him to my policy, which increased my rates by $600.00, so I switched.

Don't trust them. My rate increased by over $14 a month in less than 3 years, totaling over $49. I'm 68 years old and drive less than 50 miles a year, yet I pay $500.

The quotes are ridiculously expensive, and the price changes every month. Why does the amount change?

I feel that Progressive's coverage is extremely high, and I have shopped around to find the exact same coverage with other carriers for almost half the price. I've requested Progressive to lower my coverage numerous times, and they say that it's as low as it can go. I have no DUIs, no accidents, and no tickets. I don't know what the problem is, but it's very disappointing, and I will be looking for different coverage soon.

I don't like that it takes so long to process payments from my debit card. It takes up to 12 days, which I think is ridiculous, especially since it's direct pay. If there’s anyone in the household over the age of 15 without their own policy, they will be included on your policy whether you are fine with it or not. I didn’t tell them to add my daughter because she doesn’t have a driver’s license. That does not matter. They find out who lives in your household without you telling them.

I had originally started my policy at $150 per month, and then out of nowhere, they switched me to bi-weekly payments instead of the monthly payment that I had originally agreed to. If I had any idea that they were going to do that, I would have shopped around more.

The gimmick with monitoring driving habits is flawed and exceedingly annoying. Rate hikes are routine. Monitoring actually encourages bad habits, such as not braking hard for amber traffic lights for fear of getting buzzed.

Don't take the Snapshot device. It limits you to stop under 7 mph per second and not accelerate past 7 mph per second, with accelerations over 9 mph per second for an entire 4 months. If you fail to meet Progressive's satisfaction, they raise your insurance rate by 110%.

Our first year's good price was just bait. They raised it every year, and again this year. In our years with them, we had one incident in which a driver tried to get out of close parking after a Christmas event before the crowd and messed up both the bumper and paint. We had an adjuster who could not be reached, was "busy," and wanted to argue with us that it had to be a moving collision even though the cars were unoccupied so they could increase it again. Handled very badly, and we were surprised and disappointed. We are shopping for a better company after getting another notice of increase.

A bit high-priced for retired drivers with no tickets or accidents in quite a few years.

I am not happy with them. They canceled my insurance and want me to pay the remaining balance even though my truck was parked, and I have to start over with another fee.
