With Progressive, I can never talk to anyone.

High premium. I had one car problem in the last few years (a wheel came off and the Mentor police stopped by), but it was considered a claim even though I did not make a claim.

I have a great policy with Progressive.

You have to call to check for discounts. They don't give them unless you request them.

No tickets or accidents in over 15 years, but still pricey.

My first six months with Progressive Insurance have been transparent and efficient. The agents have been helpful in customer service and claims. I'm hoping my quote will be close to the same at the end of this cycle.

Good insurance, and when or if you file a claim, they are fast about getting a claims adjuster to your house. You get your money pretty quickly.

Make sure that all areas of your quote cover what you want.

I have never had to use it, and hopefully never will. I have never heard anything negative about them.

Okay, a little expensive.

Progressive is good, but expensive, and they did not keep their word about a discount for an item I kept plugged into my vehicle. I hardly drive my personal vehicle as I work a lot and have a company truck.

I was charged $10.00 for canceling my old policy with Progressive and found a cheaper rate with another broker, again with Progressive. When I called Progressive to make sure my old policy was canceled and my new policy went into effect on 5/1/26, the agent I spoke with said I needed to pay a $10.00 cancellation fee. He said it was a new policy with Progressive! So I paid with my debit card and gave him all my info, including my CVV code. A day later, I had all these fraudulent charges amounting to almost $1,000 on my debit card! My bank was quick to notice and declined most of the charges, but again I'm inconvenienced waiting for my new card. I don't know if this incident with talking to the Progressive guy and giving him my debit card info has anything to do with the fraudulent charges on my account, but it sure is fishy that a day later after talking to him, this happens! He even sent me a receipt of $10.00 to my email! Was this legitimate? Do you guys charge $29.00 to cancel policies? If not, you owe me a refund and you better check out more carefully the people that supposedly work for your company!

The thing I do not care for is that the car insurance and renters insurance are two separate departments. I would rather have it bundled together like they advertise.

I was looking around and they were the cheapest one so far with the best coverage. In these times, with everything going up, they are the best option.

Today is my first day with my new carrier, but they offered a much better price than my old insurance company. We will see in 6 months how things are going.

State Farm is 50% less!

I feel that even with loyalty, there aren't many discounts on renewal with State Farm. I remember every 2 years I would get a huge discount for not having claims.

Keep on the lookout for sharp rate increases from Allstate.

Affordable, educational, and friendly. They are the best all around, and they listen.

The rates are too high for old cars, but because I've been with them for a while, it's cheaper than starting with a new company.

I'm not super happy about my premium going up. I haven't had a ticket in years and haven't had an accident in 15 or 20 years. I drive less than 30 miles a week. I bought my car new in 2021 and still only have 26,500 miles on it. I know going up $7.00 isn't a lot, but when you're on a fixed income, it matters.

With Progressive, I had no warning that my policy was canceled until I looked it up myself. That's the main issue I have with them.

Provide truthful premium cost when not driving many miles per day.

You sign up and get a good rate, but after 6 months, your rates go back up again. So don't bother to switch.

The customer service is very good. I was able to get a good understanding of what I was purchasing.

I've not had to file a claim. Any interaction with agents has been in regard to reducing my premiums. Going paperless, choosing minimum coverage, and/or bundling were the options. It is way too expensive and very few benefits are granted for loyalty.

They also cover my motorcycles, and no one beats their prices!

Rates are good so far. I was not happy that when my son and his wife temporarily moved in with me, they had their own car insurance but Progressive said I had to put them on my policy even though they never drive my car.

I really liked Progressive and was referring friends and family to them. Then they increased my rate by over $120, saying it was because I bought a new car. I found cheaper insurance with State Farm for the same coverage. Then Progressive charged me $63 when I canceled. While their service was great, they did nothing to keep me with them.

Very bad about transparency. I was told if I decided against using their "tracking" device, it would change my cost by $100 for a year. When I decided it wasn’t for me, my rate went up $180.

Way too expensive for a perfect driving record.

I pay more than I should have to pay! No accidents, no tickets, no DUIs, and my car is driven less than 15 miles a week. It is a 2017 Corolla bought brand new for a little over $16,000.

For some reason, my rates increased by over $100. I tried to adjust coverage so it would not be so much, but to no avail.

Outrageous payments. My policy increases without notice or explanation. I am planning to change companies.

I pay $278 for just liability on a 2013 Nissan Murano. I think this price is ridiculously high.

Progressive gives you a good rate initially, then increases the rates upon renewal. I was persuaded to install a monitor in my truck to check my safe driving activity. Even though I had very few hard brakes and essentially zero fast accelerations, my rates went up because my history indicated I made too many short trips. I average about 8,000 miles per year driving in a small suburban area. Also, when my wife passed away and I removed her and her SUV from the policy, my premium rate increased by about 20%. Why did that happen? My wife's SUV accounted for about 60% of the miles driven. Additionally, when I try to reach my agent, it takes several phone calls to get through to her. I am very dissatisfied with Progressive.

They changed my monthly rate by more than $20.00 per month. Very disappointing!

I thought I had good coverage with Progressive until I got into an accident. Claims agents were nowhere to be found and never called me back. Then they said that the money ran out and if I had any medical bills, I would have to pay them on my own. I've never had that happen before with any other insurance company, but I hadn't even sent one bill in when they told me that there was no money to cover anything else. So I was stuck owing several thousand dollars worth of medical bills.

Rates have done nothing but increase since getting my policy, even though there have been zero claims or things like speeding tickets since starting my policy. Every renewal period, it increases.

I hit a fox, which knocked a headlight out, and I needed to have the bumper replaced. The fog lights were also damaged, totaling $1,700 in damages. I filed a claim but didn't receive anything except an increase in my insurance from $266 to $340.

I updated my policy to add my children, and they downgraded me from platinum to silver status, raising my policy by over $700. They also requested documentation on vehicles I already had on my policy and allowed someone to fraudulently gain access to my policy.

They covered a claim, but I had a second claim that they didn't cover and still raised my monthly premium, which I didn't think was fair to me personally. Otherwise, a good company.

They raised my plan to $166 a month. After I dropped my second vehicle from the coverage, they said it wouldn't go down, and I'd still be paying that amount. Well, I'm not paying that. My new vehicle is financed, and I work part-time. I will be leaving them.

It was great until the price went from $170 to $190, and 6 months later now it’s $226 a month. I just can’t afford that on top of my $589 a month car payment.

I would tell them how expensive this company is. After being with them for a year, they placed my 17-year-old on the policy. I had always excluded him because he has no license, and the company is charging me $500+ because they added him to the policy through the app and won't allow me to take him off. My insurance is one of the highest I have had, and I had to decrease coverage on the truck because it is so expensive.

Not great. They are four times the price of anyone else to add a car and a driver, even though I already have coverage with them.

Make sure when they offer Snapshot you watch what they explain to you. We never brought our driving experience up to 5 stars, so they have DOUBLED our insurance coverage from $564 for the first six months, and the renewal has been doubled to a total of $1128 for six months. We are changing immediately!

Starts out with a medium to high initial payment, then stays high for 6 months. Then, without any accidents, pull-overs, or any problems, the insurance company might decrease the rate by thirty cents. I haven't had any issues since I got my license back several years ago, but my full coverage payment is through the roof, and I can't understand it.

First, I was quoted $31.50 per month, which was $189 for 6 months, but the woman on the phone couldn’t find my quote, and the system wanted to charge me $380 for six months. It really felt like a bait and switch tactic. Really too bad because I had used them previously and all went well.

I needed the least expensive option with full coverage for my Saturn, and this was it. I just started the policy, so I don't know about the service yet.

Average pricing, customer service is good. There should be more discounts for low mileage driving.

They are horrible if you have a small claim that is under your deductible. I was rear-ended in October and no one will help me get reimbursed from the man's insurance because it's under my deductible amount. My agent is absolutely no help either. I'm up for renewal and I will change insurance companies.

I received no discounts for being a senior and driving less. Instead of getting discounts, it seems prices went up. I am undecided about recommending it to friends. Also, I changed banks and had trouble having my bank source accepted for payments.

Progressive gave me a quote on 04/22/2026, which was lower than my renewal rate. I accepted the new quote with full premium payment once they sent me my declaration page on 04/23/2026.

Progressive was the only insurer I contacted as I needed coverage immediately in order to purchase a car in real time. I was charged $217.00 for monthly liability coverage, which I found to be quite high. I plan to end this coverage at the 30-day mark and choose a new insurance company.
