Premiums in Fulton County are very expensive, and I haven’t had any accidents in many years. However, my soon-to-be ex-wife had an accident in 2023, and I’ve been told that it doesn’t matter because it was a claim on my policy. I feel this should be charged to her, not to me. I am 76 years old and have not had an accident in many years.

Despite having no accidents and no traffic citations, my insurance costs keep climbing. As a senior citizen with a good driving record and someone who does not violate traffic laws, it is unfair that my rates are what I consider high for a fixed income, and rates that increase periodically. There should be a discount for seniors with a clean driving record. This would be fair and good for business.

When I filed a claim last year, they were very helpful and communicated everything, making the whole process simple and easy to understand. My only issue was that my policy kept increasing. My policy renewed every 6 months, and during that time, my policy increased by $75. They couldn’t really explain why, other than mentioning the claim I had a year ago, but that shouldn’t have affected me in these recent 6 months. So I switched policies.

Progressive is an excellent company. I have no complaints. Customer service is awesome. Their rates are pretty reasonable. I recommend using them.

Make sure you have all claims for drivers. It has a significant effect on premiums. Also, have good credit and a good driving history.

Run your quote multiple times on random days because sometimes it's as low as $81, other times it's $125. I pay $118, but when I ran it again, it said $81.

Progressive has always had the absolute best customer service around. They are quick to respond and have always had fair pricing. I am almost 40 and felt I have been overpaying for insurance for a long time. This did cause me to shop around. It’s very awesome to be able to have lowered my monthly payment so much, finally, and be able to stay with Progressive. However, it is very much a shame that they didn’t already offer me this low rate. I have been a customer of theirs for years and always tend to come back. Occasionally it seems necessary to shop around to be able to lower my rate. And I have noticed every time my policy is coming up for renewal, no matter whom I am with, the rates just always seem to go up, even with a clean driving record and a great credit score.

Ask for all discounts. Research each insurance company you quote with. Make sure you are comparing the same coverage levels.

Lowest rate at the time.

I've been with Progressive for about 17 years, and everything has always gone fine. I've never had a problem.

Very poor. I'm 69 years old with a 2018 F-150, and I'm still paying around $140 a month. I have no speeding tickets and no DUIs. I'm very disappointed with my insurance company, Progressive.

$550 a month for one car is insane. After six months with no accidents or tickets, and being enrolled in their Snapshot program with a B+ rating, my policy still went up $100.

Progressive is too expensive.

They want you to submit your mileage and say they base rates on how much you drive. They tried to increase my policy three times. I told them to remove everything except liability because I'm going to find a new carrier and then go back to full coverage. They were trying to charge me way too much for a 2013 vehicle.

Do not use them if you don’t want your insurance to jump higher and higher after paying for years with no claims.

I switched from Progressive because the rates were terribly high. My advice to a friend would be to shop around. When I asked them for a better rate after being with them for one year at renewal—and again after two years—as a 43-year-old man with a very safe, highly rated car and no accidents or violations, they said no. I found much better insurance at one-third the cost.

I’m looking to switch. My claim was denied, and I don’t believe the adjuster really knew what she was talking about.

Progressive lied about the rate, trying to get people who don’t even have driver’s licenses onto the policy. I had to submit tons of paperwork to verify things. I was the only driver in the house, and then when I filed an accident claim, they didn’t believe I was the driver of the vehicle. I’m still in litigation over that. I’m the only licensed driver out of seven people in the household. They take your money, but when it’s time to pay out for a claim, it turns into a totally different story. They do anything they can not to pay for any damage anybody else causes.

Nightmarish and cold, with the exception of the social media (Facebook) team—they were great. Everyone else was terrible.

The commercials are amusing, but as far as the insurance goes, it’s mediocre. There’s no discount for safe driving or seniors.

I would not recommend Progressive to anyone. I had two accidents that were not my fault at all, according to Progressive, and my rate went sky-high. When it came to handling one of my claims, they told me to handle it on my own. What do I pay you for then? I can’t stand Progressive and can’t wait to switch companies.

There’s zero flexibility with Progressive when it comes to dealing with a deceased policy member. They want to charge me more to remove him.

Overpriced and not competitive.

They expect the insured to do the work of an appraiser. Their app for taking pictures isn’t very good. Then the adjuster told me she’d send out an appraiser, but no one ever showed up. I called the adjuster’s supervisor and left a voicemail, but I never got a return call. I went to the website and refiled the claim. The adjuster should have told me to do nothing, since that’s easier than using their app. So I’ll be looking for another company, or go back to Travelers. But they’re all probably the same. I should have kept my adjuster license.

Never use Progressive—they didn’t match the quote to the full coverage other companies offered. The quote felt misleading, and the service was rude. It seems like they spend a lot on advertising and overcharge customers. I didn’t get helpful customer service, and I was given a quote that didn’t match what I expected, which cost me about $1,000.

I wouldn’t recommend it. The price is just too high.

Online car insurance is okay only if the carrier has a user-friendly and logical online program. Progressive’s wasn’t user-friendly for me.

They took a direct payment out on the wrong date and then charged a fee.

I don’t understand why it takes several days for a payment to be removed from my account. No one else works this way. It’s almost like they don’t want you to be able to pay for car insurance. I’ve also heard that they rarely settle within policy limits when you’re involved in a car accident. I don’t understand what I’m paying for.

Three price increases in the past year. I didn’t know about the last price increase until I checked my bank account. I have a flawless driving record and don’t understand why the rate is so expensive. I guess public transit is the way to go.

Read the small print; they claim that if you’re paperless, they have no responsibility to notify you about policy termination. I drove for two months without any coverage.

They might need to add a clause that says they won’t raise my premiums for two years.

When we were only insuring one or two people and vehicles, it wasn’t bad. But as soon as we added the rest of our vehicles and drivers, the rates skyrocketed. They wanted $870 a month for four vehicles and four drivers. Allstate, Direct Auto, and another insurer all quoted us $300–$500 for the same policies. I’ll never recommend Progressive again.

The agent at Progressive said they would give me the lowest rate. However, they didn’t explain or offer a lower deductible for a minimal price difference. My husband had an extremely minor car accident, but we had to pay out of pocket because the deductible was $2,500. We’ve changed it now to a much lower deductible for a $9 difference. Very disappointed.

They start out with a lower rate than Geico. Then, after installing a driving-style meter in your vehicle, suddenly all braking becomes more sensitive and your rating goes down.

When I first decided to use Progressive as my car insurance, I was very pleased with the service. But when it came time to renew in July 2026, I was completely thrown off guard by the customer service I received. My insurance premiums (I had both my home and vehicle insured through Progressive) increased significantly, to the point that I was forced to look at other companies. This whole situation with Progressive has been very frustrating and disappointing. I don’t understand or agree with how they treated me when my renewal time approached. I wasn’t looking to change companies, but I basically had no choice. It’s unfortunate because I thought Progressive was trustworthy and a solid choice, but they were rude, unhelpful, and unprofessional, which was very disappointing. Thank you.

They lie about your member status, telling you one thing on the phone but something else in the app. They change things fairly often with little to no notice to the customer. They also seem to try to sneak in hidden charges until they’re caught, and quite recently I was basically told “too bad” when I said I didn’t want to wait on hold. It feels like a runaround with very few answers or clarification. I will never have my auto insurance with them again.

They just take my money. I haven’t had any tickets, accidents, or incidents in over a decade, and they still won’t give me a discount.

I had two vehicles insured with Progressive. When I dropped one vehicle, my premium almost doubled. They said I lost the multi-vehicle discount. Not good.

Never again! They quoted a good price. My first payment was correct, and I also signed up for autopay. My next monthly payment was over $300, with no notice. When I called, they said they didn’t know why it was so high. They did say my ex-wife was on my account—we’ve been divorced for almost five years—and that my son was also on my account. He lives in another city and has his own insurance with another company. No explanation and no credit back to me. There was an unexpected withdrawal from my account that I didn’t have the funds for. I’m a disabled veteran and make very little money.

Geico is 10 times better than Progressive. I got car and rental coverage for cheaper than Progressive.

My husband and I have car insurance with Progressive Insurance. At first, it was great. In January of 2026, we paid $509 for 6 months for 2 cars. When we added another, of course, it went up a little bit, which was expected. Then we added a 4th car, and it went up again, which was also expected. After that, we got a notice stating that our insurance was about to be canceled due to us not providing proof of garaging. I had never heard of giving proof of garaging. Then they added my mother-in-law to our policy because we had to stay with her for 2 weeks to help her due to her having surgery. I tried explaining to Progressive that we were not living with her but were just there for 2 weeks to help her out. Then they wanted a copy of her driver's license, and without thanking us, they added her. To my surprise, it went up again, and mind you, her address was different from ours on the license. So, including the $509 for 6 months, we ended up having to pay an additional payment every month. At the end of those 6 months, we ended up paying $4000 for 4 cars and for 2 additional people that were added to our policy that we didn’t ask to be added. When my mother-in-law's license expired, I had to take her off our policy, and the payment went up again for dropping her from our policy. I'm sorry, but that is really frustrating. I want my money back.

Be careful with the selections you make for your coverage and claims. Ensure that they are covered, as they might appear on your record even if they are not covered.

I'm with Progressive and for the price, I feel like I'm paying for the agent's price plus way more than I should be!

Progressive took 4 months to handle my claim from start to finish. The claims representative lied to me and told me it was because parts were on backorder, but the shop was done with the repairs in 2 months. Then I was told that they paid the shop electronically, but I know the owner. He said they sent a check. They also recently canceled my policy because I added a vehicle within 30 days of starting a new policy, then told me it was a state rule. The problem is they are the cheapest option, so I have no choice but to use them or pay a lot more.

Progressive gives a low rate to get you, then doubles the rate for the next 6 months with no changes in driving record. BEWARE!

I would say that it’s way too expensive considering that thankfully I’ve never had a claim against any car insurance company, my age, and the amount of miles that I tend to drive.
