Progressive insurance works well for me. I call when I need them, and there’s a response right away, which is good for me.

Overall, it's good. I find the payment price a little pricey.

The gentleman I spoke with who handled my SXS policy provided the best customer service I have ever had with Progressive. All others I have dealt with were not so good. I am still upset that Progressive did not investigate the accident we were involved in. There were 4 cameras that saw the vehicle in front of us slam on his brakes for no reason, giving us no time whatsoever to stop. When I questioned the driver as to why he did that, he stated that he thought the vehicle two lanes from him was going to pull into his lane, which never happened. He then lied to the police when they showed up. The cameras prove what I'm saying, and yet Progressive never checked them. Completely unacceptable. Now we're paying extra for something that was not our fault at all.

Got what I needed in 15 minutes, great price for coverage.

It's Progressive and the rates are extremely high.

They are very expensive. I just purchased a new Buick Encore and my insurance went from $78.83 to $132.83. I am a 60-year-old widow on disability. Everyone is talking about companies overcharging for years (25 years), and customers are receiving some of that money back as a refund. I would like lower auto insurance and to learn about this refund if it is real.

Progressive is about the same price as other insurances, but they're flexible, fast, friendly, and it's easy to apply online. All in all, great service all around.

Rates are too high! I’ve been driving since I was 16 with no tickets, at-fault accidents, or DUIs. I am 61 now with the same record, and my rates are still high. I shouldn’t be paying a very high dollar for insurance, even on a bundle package.

When NC decreased rates last year, I called Progressive and requested a new quote for my 3 vehicles. They politely did that, and I’m saving over a hundred dollars a year just for requesting a new quote. I have never had to file a claim, so I can’t speak to their claim services, whether good or bad.

When your insurance is due, unless you are extremely content, check with a few other places. If your insurance goes up for no apparent reason, check with your company or agent you are dealing with to find out why. If you find the same coverage cheaper elsewhere, before changing, again, contact your agent or company and see if they can match or do better. And always, look at the reviews of an agent or company before deciding. There are good and bad, and many to choose from, so try not to make a bad decision.

I think it's a little high. I don't drive more than 50 miles a day, but there's no discount.

Very good, easily better than GEICO when it comes to claims. Their agents are well-schooled and provide relevant information on a timely basis. They are not the absolute cheapest but provide value for the money spent.

When I signed up for Progressive Insurance, I was told in writing that I could get a better rate on this policy and save by switching to Progressive Insurance. So I changed my insurance to Progressive. Not only did it cost more, but even though it was only about $10 more, I am still paying $191.00. This is unacceptable to me. These companies are taking advantage of us as consumers because we have to have a certain type of insurance to be covered through our loan agreement. This is what's so upsetting about the insurance companies.

Constantly follow up on your payments, especially if you have to make changes. The past 4 months have been difficult keeping my insurance policy up to date because of a separation from my wife. They have messed up my account numerous times and just say yes to get me off the phone. Sadly, I’m a 'Gold status' client who has been with them for years. I’m not renewing my policy.

Liberty Insurance Company is so far the best company I have ever been with in my 50 years of driving. As for Progressive Insurance Company, they start you out with a low price then jack it up $150 or $200 and give you some excuse, so buyers beware. Thanks.

For not having an accident ever from the age of 16 to 76, and only putting mileage on the car to go to doctor appointments, physical therapy, church, etc., I'm paying way too much for insurance.

After quoting $330 a month for 3 vehicles, the cost has now been raised to $469 without any explanation.

Too expensive. It starts low and rises quickly unless you allow them to track your driving habits with monitoring apps and devices.

Buyer beware. I'm 62 years old and have paid insurance for over 30 years without ever having to make a claim. That's easily over a hundred thousand dollars. I got hit, and it was the other person's fault—they even got a ticket. Yes, my claim was up to date and paid. Progressive Insurance denied my claim, for which I pay over $200 a month, and told me to go after the other person's insurance. Progressive is not backed by the Better Business Bureau because of all the negative reviews (see for yourself). I will never ever consider Progressive Insurance again.

Need discounts and pricing adjustments for good drivers.

My premium went from $86.00 to $130, then to $176, and finally to $287 all in a week, so I switched to another provider.

Zero communication, zero statements, zero text messages. Why does it take 12 days for my reimbursement to just go back to my checking account? That makes no sense. They were very quick to take it out. Why such a long wait? I found insurance $100 cheaper a month.

I had a bad experience with my insurance company and agent. Our policy payment didn’t go through because we had changed our credit card after it was compromised, and we forgot about the automatic credit card payment. Six days after the insurance lapsed, we went to Tulsa to see our son, which was great. But the next week, we got a letter from Tulsa with a ticket for not having insurance, costing over $300. I called the insurance company to explain what happened and see if they could help in any way. The answer was a hard no. That’s the problem: only six days before we knew that the payment did not go through.

The whole idea of using the Snap device is flawed. I had it in my car during slippery roads and bad weather. Being judged by fast braking or acceleration in icy, slick conditions, plus living on a hill, is unfair. The gadget isn’t there to see how many accidents are dodged by quick braking or accelerations. It seems like a business practice set up to discredit drivers so rates can be raised.

They take my whole Social Security check for car insurance.

Progressive is not the best insurance choice for me. They raised my rates upon renewal, even though there wasn't a car accident. This is particularly challenging if you're a student.

I was supposed to have accident forgiveness after being with them for 10 years. I made a claim recently for an accident. They said the accident forgiveness would not apply because I was involved in a not-at-fault accident in the past 5 years. Then they raised my rate by 50% after paying them for 10 years to do nothing. The high premium for full coverage was $152, and they only reduced it by $40 when I switched to liability. Ridiculous.

Homeowners insurance is too expensive, especially for Progressive coverage. The other coverage was somewhat reasonable.

Progressive insists on installing a monitoring device in your car and may raise your rate if they determine you've done something wrong, according to their criteria. For example, if you're rushing to an emergency room, you might be penalized for speeding with a higher rate, no questions asked.

Progressive removes discounts and increases rates to essentially negate the savings gained from the use of Snapshot.

After an hour on the phone, I was quoted a rate $9 per month lower than I had been paying. They had my car listed as a commute car, and I have been disabled and unable to work for the last 20 years. To make it even more special, they emailed me a quote for more than I had been paying. If they’re this bad at basic policy servicing, imagine their ineptitude handling an actual claim.

Continually increasing premiums with a continually aging vehicle.

It took weeks to resolve our claim back in October. I don’t appreciate my policy doubling in price. My wife and I drive no more than 3,000 miles a year each and are paying $3,465 annually. I don’t live in a flood zone, and our cars are in the garage.

For the most part, they're good. But when you have an accident, they want pictures and they give you an estimate from pictures. How can you honestly give an estimate from pictures? If you had a dented bumper or door, yes, a picture would work, but when your car gets rear-ended and then they tell you that body work and painting is done for 70 dollars an hour, what the hell? This isn’t the '90s or even the early 2000s. The estimate process is a complete joke.

I am not happy with Progressive and the team they provided me with. I did not have the support I needed for my case. On top of that, my car is still not made whole. They haven't reimbursed me for my car rental fee, which is $1800, and the tire fee, which is $200, that one of their shops caused. I will be leaving Progressive after this case is closed because of the team I was assigned to, who didn't do their job to make it right for my car.

Don't waste your money. They'll find any way possible to make extra money. I hit a ladder on the highway because it was either the ladder or another car, and I was made at fault by their underwriter, raising my premium. Then they added my husband, who I am legally separated from, onto my policy without my knowledge. I only found out after my premium went up $130 a month because he was arrested for a DUI, which has nothing to do with me. Then, in order to remove him, I had to make him an excluded driver by signing some paperwork and mailing it in, which makes no sense since we are legally separated and haven't lived together in years. Stay away, that's my advice.
