I'm not super happy about my premium going up. I haven't had a ticket in years and haven't had an accident in 15 or 20 years. I drive less than 30 miles a week. I bought my car new in 2021 and still only have 26,500 miles on it. I know going up $7.00 isn't a lot, but when you're on a fixed income, it matters.

With Progressive, I had no warning that my policy was canceled until I looked it up myself. That's the main issue I have with them.

Provide truthful premium cost when not driving many miles per day.

You sign up and get a good rate, but after 6 months, your rates go back up again. So don't bother to switch.

The customer service is very good. I was able to get a good understanding of what I was purchasing.

I've not had to file a claim. Any interaction with agents has been in regard to reducing my premiums. Going paperless, choosing minimum coverage, and/or bundling were the options. It is way too expensive and very few benefits are granted for loyalty.

They also cover my motorcycles, and no one beats their prices!

Shop around, but no one can beat Progressive's prices.

Rates are good so far. I was not happy that when my son and his wife temporarily moved in with me, they had their own car insurance but Progressive said I had to put them on my policy even though they never drive my car.

The gentleman I spoke with who handled my SXS policy provided the best customer service I have ever had with Progressive. All others I have dealt with were not so good. I am still upset that Progressive did not investigate the accident we were involved in. There were 4 cameras that saw the vehicle in front of us slam on his brakes for no reason, giving us no time whatsoever to stop. When I questioned the driver as to why he did that, he stated that he thought the vehicle two lanes from him was going to pull into his lane, which never happened. He then lied to the police when they showed up. The cameras prove what I'm saying, and yet Progressive never checked them. Completely unacceptable. Now we're paying extra for something that was not our fault at all.

No problems. Never filed a claim.

Got what I needed in 15 minutes, great price for coverage.

The good thing is that they are available when you have questions. The bad thing is when one of two cars is canceled. The difference was only 1 dollar lower on just one car, which made me think having a second full coverage car only cost a dollar. I did not understand getting charged for 2 cars for 2 months when I only had 1 car and the second was canceled. There was no reimbursement for the extra, and the difference in the premium was unclear.

Progressive had the most economical package for me.

Don't settle on a price with the first quote and definitely do NOT go to a local insurance agent. They include their fee for profit in the price. Do it over the phone nationally.

No matter how often I've wasted my time getting into these "lower your car insurance rate" deals, Progressive always winds up being the #1 recommendation. They charge about half what the others quoted.

I have never had a claim, so I have no idea what to share with anyone about my policy. The only thing I can say is that when I signed up with Progressive, the salesperson was very helpful and patient in explaining everything to me.

Overall, I like Progressive Snapshot, but it doesn't seem like the best way to get a discount when it only checks hard stops and fast starts. Many times, you need these to avoid accidents.

They are very expensive. I just purchased a new Buick Encore and my insurance went from $78.83 to $132.83. I am a 60-year-old widow on disability. Everyone is talking about companies overcharging for years (25 years), and customers are receiving some of that money back as a refund. I would like lower auto insurance and to learn about this refund if it is real.

Progressive is about the same price as other insurances, but they're flexible, fast, friendly, and it's easy to apply online. All in all, great service all around.

Rates are too high! I’ve been driving since I was 16 with no tickets, at-fault accidents, or DUIs. I am 61 now with the same record, and my rates are still high. I shouldn’t be paying a very high dollar for insurance, even on a bundle package.

They offer terrific discounts to lure you in and then raise rates. Coverage is inadequate.

They quote you one price, then after 4 months, they started charging almost double after that.

I have Progressive. After the initial 6 months, they raised my rate. I had no wrecks, speeding tickets, or claims.

At the inception of the policy, the prices were great for Progressive Insurance. When my policy was up for renewal at 6 months, my insurance premium went up over $1,000.00 for 6 months. Nothing changed on my insurance, and I didn’t have any accidents. I was told this was because of “inflation.”

I removed and added a vehicle, and I received four sets of paperwork with different totals.

It was great until the price went from $170 to $190, and 6 months later now it’s $226 a month. I just can’t afford that on top of my $589 a month car payment.

Customer service is fair, but they are raising their rates.

Make sure when they offer Snapshot you watch what they explain to you. We never brought our driving experience up to 5 stars, so they have DOUBLED our insurance coverage from $564 for the first six months, and the renewal has been doubled to a total of $1128 for six months. We are changing immediately!

Progressive gave me a quote on 04/22/2026, which was lower than my renewal rate. I accepted the new quote with full premium payment once they sent me my declaration page on 04/23/2026.

Progressive was the only insurer I contacted as I needed coverage immediately in order to purchase a car in real time. I was charged $217.00 for monthly liability coverage, which I found to be quite high. I plan to end this coverage at the 30-day mark and choose a new insurance company.

The price is extremely high. Despite having my license for over forty years and renewing it in December of last year, I am being treated and charged like I'm a new driver.

Rates are sky high. I have no tickets, no accidents, and still, for a 2007 Nissan 350Z, I pay $289 a month. This is ridiculous for a 75-year-old man, married but separated, to pay. Oh yeah, I am on Social Security too!

It's mid. It's not a simple breakdown of what you're paying! It's increasing, but it's not telling me why it increased.

Don't get Progressive. They canceled my policy after an accident and questioned me about fraud because I recently got a policy and then had an accident a couple of days after obtaining insurance. They still have not fixed my car or reimbursed me for rental or towing.

I don't trust them. I'm scared to change. Literally. I cannot find anyone who can do less than $782 a year for home insurance and anything under $80 for car insurance with a consistent payment. Progressive is known for increasing the bill every time. How does that work? I hate talking on the phone, so don't bother. If you can find me something close to what I have, I could switch. I can't do it at over $1,000 for home insurance, and they wanted like $1,200 a year.

No discounts for seniors and for a good driving record.

Progressive, Geico, and others may increase your rates by adding roommates to your policy, even if they aren't drivers of your vehicle. Be cautious and review your policy details carefully.

Expensive. I dropped a car and the insurance rate went up. Not satisfied with Progressive.

They all start off lower than the last, then creep up, adding money to payments as time goes on.

Progressive will write your policy cheaper than anyone else, but it won't stay at the same rate. It will go up the first time there is an issue with the bank or any error at all, and they overcharge you.

Very poor! They increased my rates by over $900 for six months. I feel this is unfair.

Progressive was good until I used their tracking device, and they increased my rates significantly based on one above-normal month of driving. They never lowered it back, so I switched to another provider. I only drive 9,000 miles a year.

They added a driver to my policy, and after I had them removed, they didn’t lower the price back to what it was prior to unnecessarily adding the driver.

Constantly follow up on your payments, especially if you have to make changes. The past 4 months have been difficult keeping my insurance policy up to date because of a separation from my wife. They have messed up my account numerous times and just say yes to get me off the phone. Sadly, I’m a 'Gold status' client who has been with them for years. I’m not renewing my policy.

My current vehicle insurance doesn't cover my 2003 Olds Alero, and because my daughter (age 18) just became a licensed driver, I'm paying double the premium as a second driver! I can barely afford to pay rent or for my other vehicle. Paying almost $600 per month for vehicle insurance is ridiculous!

Liberty Insurance Company is so far the best company I have ever been with in my 50 years of driving. As for Progressive Insurance Company, they start you out with a low price then jack it up $150 or $200 and give you some excuse, so buyers beware. Thanks.

We are retired and have an excellent driving record. We've even used their monitors for the last six months, during which we received an 11 out of 15—a great score. However, my price still went up. They tried to convince me that it's a good price, but no thanks.

Well, I have been a loyal customer for over 5 years. No accidents or tickets. My bill keeps getting more expensive. I reached out to other companies. They all quoted me half the price. I am over 65 and don't drive much. I believe I am more entitled to my money than they are.

They have raised my premium every six months for the past two years.

After quoting $330 a month for 3 vehicles, the cost has now been raised to $469 without any explanation.

Progressive's phone app makes dealing with them very convenient and accessible. However, past experiences with Progressive Car Insurance relate to setting annual premiums. They attract you as a customer with their very low initial rate, but with each policy change, their rates rapidly become very high. This is very obvious when an older car is replaced.

Progressive Insurance denied my claim, for which I pay over $200 a month, and told me to go after the other person's insurance. Progressive is not backed by the Better Business Bureau because of all the negative reviews (see for yourself). I will never ever consider Progressive Insurance again.

Progressive Insurance continues to raise my rates without any accidents while being covered. Since I am drawing Social Security, a rate increase only makes it more difficult to adjust my cost of living.

It's just okay. They don't try to help me get better rates.
