I need my insurance so I can take care of my grandson, who is 5, and also my wife, who is on oxygen and needs to go to doctor's appointments 4 times a week. Now you sent me a cancellation notice, and I will lose my insurance on the 22nd of this month because you made my payment so high that I have to go without insurance. You are not letting me pay $114.00 a month. I am begging you to put my insurance back to $114.00 a month. Please help me out so my wife can get to her doctors and my grandson can get to school.

The Snapshot program that is intended to get drivers discounts is fundamentally flawed. While I believe the intent of the Snapshot program is to encourage positive behavioral change, I find its execution—particularly the plug-in device with audible alerts—to be fundamentally flawed. My concerns focus on the audible alerts triggered during what the system classifies as “unsafe” driving events, most notably “hard braking.” During my participation in the program, I received multiple audible alerts attributed to hard braking. Upon reviewing the corresponding reports in the Snapshot mobile application, I observed that these alerts were recorded as hard-brake incidents. Because the application does not provide a data export function, I manually copied the event data to conduct my own review. In reviewing the overall data, approximately 90% of my recorded driving time resulted in a “Great job!” assessment within the application. Despite this, I was informed that my driving behavior placed me at risk for a premium increase. And yes, my premium has been increased despite having a clean and accident-free driving record.

What to say about Progressive? You'll progressively pay more every year, despite having no claims, accidents, or tickets. Add more services and get bundle discounts, they say. What a joke. After bundling multiple policies and having been with Progressive for over 9 years with no reasons for our costs to keep rising, we attempted to get a loyalty discount of any kind—$3 off a month by adding a boat policy (we live in a city) is what we were offered, which cost $31 more for that particular policy, so no actual discount at all.

It started with my Jeep Cherokee. The first month the rate was $72, and three years later it was over $90 a month, and this was with no claims at all.
