Very good insurance, no problems to complain about.

The only thing I don't like is their high charge to renew your policy.

They are very expensive. I just purchased a new Buick Encore and my insurance went from $78.83 to $132.83. I am a 60-year-old widow on disability. Everyone is talking about companies overcharging for years (25 years), and customers are receiving some of that money back as a refund. I would like lower auto insurance and to learn about this refund if it is real.

Progressive is about the same price as other insurances, but they're flexible, fast, friendly, and it's easy to apply online. All in all, great service all around.

Your survey asks for ratings on aspects I have not experienced, such as claims processing. I have not had a claim, so I cannot evaluate. This is only an example of several such categories. Poorly designed and not applicable survey!

The service is pretty good. I appreciate what they do for me.

Rates are too high! I’ve been driving since I was 16 with no tickets, at-fault accidents, or DUIs. I am 61 now with the same record, and my rates are still high. I shouldn’t be paying a very high dollar for insurance, even on a bundle package.

I haven't had a claim with the company, but a family member has coverage and she couldn't think of good things about them!

When NC decreased rates last year, I called Progressive and requested a new quote for my 3 vehicles. They politely did that, and I’m saving over a hundred dollars a year just for requesting a new quote. I have never had to file a claim, so I can’t speak to their claim services, whether good or bad.

I have Progressive, and if I don’t get a new quote, my rates go up by $25-$30!

When your insurance is due, unless you are extremely content, check with a few other places. If your insurance goes up for no apparent reason, check with your company or agent you are dealing with to find out why. If you find the same coverage cheaper elsewhere, before changing, again, contact your agent or company and see if they can match or do better. And always, look at the reviews of an agent or company before deciding. There are good and bad, and many to choose from, so try not to make a bad decision.

I think it's a little high. I don't drive more than 50 miles a day, but there's no discount.

Very good, easily better than GEICO when it comes to claims. Their agents are well-schooled and provide relevant information on a timely basis. They are not the absolute cheapest but provide value for the money spent.

When I signed up for Progressive Insurance, I was told in writing that I could get a better rate on this policy and save by switching to Progressive Insurance. So I changed my insurance to Progressive. Not only did it cost more, but even though it was only about $10 more, I am still paying $191.00. This is unacceptable to me. These companies are taking advantage of us as consumers because we have to have a certain type of insurance to be covered through our loan agreement. This is what's so upsetting about the insurance companies.

Progressive will write your policy cheaper than anyone else, but it won't stay at the same rate. It will go up the first time there is an issue with the bank or any error at all, and they overcharge you.

Progressive was good until I used their tracking device, and they increased my rates significantly based on one above-normal month of driving. They never lowered it back, so I switched to another provider. I only drive 9,000 miles a year.

They added a driver to my policy, and after I had them removed, they didn’t lower the price back to what it was prior to unnecessarily adding the driver.

Progressive is seemingly trying to dominate the insurance field. It is difficult to get other companies' rates on online sites while Progressive dominates the field.

Constantly follow up on your payments, especially if you have to make changes. The past 4 months have been difficult keeping my insurance policy up to date because of a separation from my wife. They have messed up my account numerous times and just say yes to get me off the phone. Sadly, I’m a 'Gold status' client who has been with them for years. I’m not renewing my policy.

My current vehicle insurance doesn't cover my 2003 Olds Alero, and because my daughter (age 18) just became a licensed driver, I'm paying double the premium as a second driver! I can barely afford to pay rent or for my other vehicle. Paying almost $600 per month for vehicle insurance is ridiculous!

Overall, not a bad company but they didn’t offer multi-vehicle discounts like others do. Their online system is terrible, which is the main reason I left.

Liberty Insurance Company is so far the best company I have ever been with in my 50 years of driving. As for Progressive Insurance Company, they start you out with a low price then jack it up $150 or $200 and give you some excuse, so buyers beware. Thanks.

We are retired and have an excellent driving record. We've even used their monitors for the last six months, during which we received an 11 out of 15—a great score. However, my price still went up. They tried to convince me that it's a good price, but no thanks.

Well, I have been a loyal customer for over 5 years. No accidents or tickets. My bill keeps getting more expensive. I reached out to other companies. They all quoted me half the price. I am over 65 and don't drive much. I believe I am more entitled to my money than they are.

They have raised my premium every six months for the past two years.

Progressive's phone app makes dealing with them very convenient and accessible. However, past experiences with Progressive Car Insurance relate to setting annual premiums. They attract you as a customer with their very low initial rate, but with each policy change, their rates rapidly become very high. This is very obvious when an older car is replaced.

Buyer beware. I'm 62 years old and have paid insurance for over 30 years without ever having to make a claim. That's easily over a hundred thousand dollars. I got hit, and it was the other person's fault—they even got a ticket. Yes, my claim was up to date and paid. Progressive Insurance denied my claim, for which I pay over $200 a month, and told me to go after the other person's insurance. Progressive is not backed by the Better Business Bureau because of all the negative reviews (see for yourself). I will never ever consider Progressive Insurance again.

Progressive Insurance continues to raise my rates without any accidents while being covered. Since I am drawing Social Security, a rate increase only makes it more difficult to adjust my cost of living.

Progressive was less expensive according to our insurance broker at the time, but we didn’t know that she wasn’t shopping around to all the major carriers! Zero communication, zero statements, zero text messages. Why does it take 12 days for my reimbursement to just go back to my checking account? That makes no sense. They were very quick to take it out. Why such a long wait? I found insurance $100 cheaper a month.

I had a bad experience with my insurance company and agent. Our policy payment didn’t go through because we had changed our credit card after it was compromised, and we forgot about the automatic credit card payment. Six days after the insurance lapsed, we went to Tulsa to see our son, which was great. But the next week, we got a letter from Tulsa with a ticket for not having insurance, costing over $300. I called the insurance company to explain what happened and see if they could help in any way. The answer was a hard no. That’s the problem: only six days before we knew that the payment did not go through.

The whole idea of using the Snap device is flawed. I had it in my car during slippery roads and bad weather. Being judged by fast braking or acceleration in icy, slick conditions, plus living on a hill, is unfair. The gadget isn’t there to see how many accidents are dodged by quick braking or accelerations. It seems like a business practice set up to discredit drivers so rates can be raised.

They take my whole Social Security check for car insurance.

I switched to a new insurance company with better rates.

I was very happy with Progressive in the beginning until the renewal came up. My payment went up $187.00 and they couldn’t explain why. We had a claim and the person that handled it was very helpful and professional. So goodbye Progressive. I would not recommend them to anyone, nor will I return to them.

They say they let you choose the date your payment is due, but that's only true with limitations.

My bill just went up after I drove around for 6 months with their snapshot device. Tell me how that makes sense. I was supposed to get a $125 discount. A deer ran out and hit my car, and they wouldn’t even help me cover the damages. I’m switching ASAP. I started at $92 a month and now I’m at $144.

I recently had major damage to my vehicle due to hitting a pothole. Although I have a claim number and a claim representative, I've called him three times for an update with no callbacks. They sent me numerous questionnaires with questions like, "Did you honk at the pothole to get it to move, or was the pothole moving or stationary?"

I was supposed to have accident forgiveness after being with them for 10 years. I made a claim recently for an accident. They said the accident forgiveness would not apply because I was involved in a not-at-fault accident in the past 5 years. Then they raised my rate by 50% after paying them for 10 years to do nothing. Avoid them!
