It's very frustrating to work with them online. Passwords don’t seem to work, and there are issues with the username. Just a lot of problems with that aspect of it.

The insurance rate is high. I've never had an insurance claim, DUI, or anything that would cause a high premium.

I've been with them for a long time. I bought a new car and everything doubled in price, so much for the loyalty program. I have no tickets and am considered a safe driver.

It's okay, they raised my monthly payment and when I called and asked why, the lady said it was because of trains. We have no trains in our area; the closest train is over 74 miles away. Then she said it was just the area. Funny thing is, my daughter lives right beside me and hers didn’t raise. I have no accidents or tickets. She also said that it was a rate adjustment. I guess I was the only one to get it.

It's good value for the money, but policy/price transparency could be better.

My insurance went from $112 for full coverage to $150+ for the same coverage. I moved to a smaller town in the same state and a less touristy area!

Hello All, I just began using PROGRESSIVE Insurance for my car. I am retired (81 years old). The real "test" for any company, especially car insurance, is if I have a mishap and require them to act per our agreement for coverage. Stay tuned....

I just moved to GEICO. I left Progressive because they increased my rates more than double after someone hit my parked car and I made a claim.

I feel that they need to call their customers once a year to see if there are any changes.

Progressive doubled my insurance bills without notifying me. That's not right. Plus, they wanted the new renewal fee. I decided not to pay. On top of that, I never received bills in the mail to pay the premiums. So I switched providers.

As anyone should do, keep looking for prices. Some places claim discounts for no accidents in over 3 years. Some offer discounts for low mileage annually. They claim all sorts of discounts but do not deliver. I have yet to find any insurance company that stands behind their statements. Progressive is no different.

It was great until the price went from $170 to $190, and 6 months later now it’s $226 a month. I just can’t afford that on top of my $589 a month car payment.

I would tell them how expensive this company is. After being with them for a year, they placed my 17-year-old on the policy. I had always excluded him because he has no license, and the company is charging me $500+ because they added him to the policy through the app and won't allow me to take him off. My insurance is one of the highest I have had, and I had to decrease coverage on the truck because it is so expensive.

Not great. They are four times the price of anyone else to add a car and a driver, even though I already have coverage with them.

With Progressive, I cannot understand why my rate is so darn high. My friend with an almost identical policy has a much cheaper rate.

Make sure when they offer Snapshot you watch what they explain to you. We never brought our driving experience up to 5 stars, so they have DOUBLED our insurance coverage from $564 for the first six months, and the renewal has been doubled to a total of $1128 for six months. We are changing immediately!

Starts out with a medium to high initial payment, then stays high for 6 months. Then, without any accidents, pull-overs, or any problems, the insurance company might decrease the rate by thirty cents. I haven't had any issues since I got my license back several years ago, but my full coverage payment is through the roof, and I can't understand it.

First, I was quoted $31.50 per month, which was $189 for 6 months, but the woman on the phone couldn’t find my quote, and the system wanted to charge me $380 for six months. It really felt like a bait and switch tactic. Really too bad because I had used them previously and all went well.

I needed the least expensive option with full coverage for my Saturn, and this was it. I just started the policy, so I don't know about the service yet.

They are horrible if you have a small claim that is under your deductible. I was rear-ended in October and no one will help me get reimbursed from the man's insurance because it's under my deductible amount. My agent is absolutely no help either. I'm up for renewal and I will change insurance companies.

I received no discounts for being a senior and driving less. Instead of getting discounts, it seems prices went up. I am undecided about recommending it to friends. Also, I changed banks and had trouble having my bank source accepted for payments.

Progressive gave me a quote on 04/22/2026, which was lower than my renewal rate. I accepted the new quote with full premium payment once they sent me my declaration page on 04/23/2026.

Progressive was the only insurer I contacted as I needed coverage immediately in order to purchase a car in real time. I was charged $217.00 for monthly liability coverage, which I found to be quite high. I plan to end this coverage at the 30-day mark and choose a new insurance company.

Rates are sky high. I have no tickets, no accidents, and still, for a 2007 Nissan 350Z, I pay $289 a month. This is ridiculous for a 75-year-old man, married but separated, to pay. Oh yeah, I am on Social Security too!

It's mid. It's not a simple breakdown of what you're paying! It's increasing, but it's not telling me why it increased.

Don't get Progressive. They canceled my policy after an accident and questioned me about fraud because I recently got a policy and then had an accident a couple of days after obtaining insurance. They still have not fixed my car or reimbursed me for rental or towing.

Policy flexibility is poor. I had them review my rates after 6 months, and they are adding $1000 to my premium because I made roadside assistance claims.

There was an incident with no injuries and no apparent vehicle damage, but the other driver apparently filed a claim. The insurance company (Progressive) started asking me a lot of questions, often ones I had already answered. My first question was, "What is the claim—injury or vehicle? Details?" After two weeks, Progressive still never attempted to answer that.

I don’t trust them, and I’m scared to change—literally. I can’t find anyone who can do less than $782 a year for home insurance or anything under $80 for car insurance, with the payment staying the same. Progressive is known for raising my bill—every time I get a bill, it’s more. How does that work? I hate talking on the phone, so don’t bother. If you can find me something close to what I have, I could switch. I can’t do over $1,000 for home insurance, and they wanted around $1,200 a year.

Progressive will write your policy cheaper than anyone else, but it won't stay at the same rate. It will go up the first time there is an issue with the bank or any error at all, and they overcharge you.

Progressive was good until I used their tracking device, and they increased my rates significantly based on one above-normal month of driving. They never lowered it back, so I switched to another provider. I only drive 9,000 miles a year.

Constantly follow up on your payments, especially if you have to make changes. The past 4 months have been difficult keeping my insurance policy up to date because of a separation from my wife. They have messed up my account numerous times and just say yes to get me off the phone. Sadly, I’m a 'Gold status' client who has been with them for years. I’m not renewing my policy.

My current vehicle insurance doesn't cover my 2003 Olds Alero, and because my daughter (age 18) just became a licensed driver, I'm paying double the premium as a second driver! Liberty Insurance Company is so far the best company I have ever been with in my 50 years of driving. As for Progressive Insurance Company, they start you out with a low price then jack it up $150 or $200 and give you some excuse, so buyers beware. Thanks.

We are retired and have an excellent driving record. We've even used their monitors for the last six months, during which we received an 11 out of 15—a great score. However, my price still went up. They tried to convince me that it's a good price, but no thanks.

They are way overpriced. I'm canceling and going with Mendota/Advantage Auto.
