The service was excellent when I had my first claim in over 50 years of home ownership. However, the rates, especially for auto insurance, are high. It feels like I'm paying for someone who drives more than I do. I need to find an insurer who doesn't charge for miles that I'm not putting on my car. Despite the high rates, I appreciate the extra coverage I can get at a reasonable rate for homeowners insurance. Another issue I'm facing is finding insurers who will cover both my house and my car. Bundling them lowers my rates, but not every insurer is willing to cover my house. My rates have significantly increased in the last few years, even though there have been no claims. My 2006 vehicle has less than 40,000 miles on it, so I'm definitely paying for more driving than I'm actually doing.
