My State Farm Insurance agent is the reason I have stayed with State Farm for over 30 years. They are helpful when I need answers and fast with changing my policy when I ask. I haven’t had a lot of claims, but the ones I have had have been resolved quickly.

They aren’t concerned about saving you money, but they are responsive.

The people I have dealt with are excellent, but I think it's a little expensive though.

I have had no problems with SF up until now. Claims handling was great. My problem is knowing I can get insurance much cheaper as I am 70 years old. All over the internet and email is information on how seniors can get car and home insurance very low. As I have mine through an agent, they say that is why it's so high.

If you can afford a higher deductible, you’ll have a lower premium. Better be a good driver though! 😁

I have been using State Farm for car, auto, life, personal belongings, and umbrella insurance since 1975 and have always been very satisfied, except with the repairs from a water leak. The leak was repaired correctly, but the floor repair by a company recommended by State Farm ruined our floor and cannot be refinished again because the company sanded the floor incorrectly. This probably lowered the value of our home.

I have been a customer of State Farm Insurance for many years. They are the best company on the market. I have compared them often to other companies for price, and they always have a lower cost for me with excellent service.

No balking on claims.

Coverage is good, but with the rate my premiums are rising, I might be switching after 38 years with State Farm.

It has been reasonable until the last few years. Florida insurance is twice as high as in some other states.

My salesman and principal contact is excellent. I think that is the key to everything else that happens.

I have been with State Farm Insurance from 1967 to 2026, which would be 59 years, minus 2 1/2 years I was in the military. State Farm Insurance was always great to me, and I always had a local State Farm Insurance office and agent that made everything simple. I did enjoy having that kind of experience and service. After all the years that I’ve been with them and asking if there was any way that I could qualify for a reduced rate and being told no so quickly or without checking made my blood boil. I’ve been hearing this for years, “If you have an insurance agent you’re throwing your money away.” After contacting a number of insurance companies and getting insurance quotes for the same type of coverage, I’m finding that I have been paying premiums that were way too high. I can save $1,500-$1,750 a year for the same type of coverage, not dealing with an insurance agent. That’s a lot of money, so I started looking for insurance companies that can give me better rates for the same coverage I had.

I had a very minor bump at the local landfill with another vehicle last fall. Whether I was at fault was very questionable. I was never notified by State Farm about any settlement.

I had a very good experience with them until my niece joined. She had too many accidents, so they discontinued my insurance. Same household, same insurance.

Too high for not having full coverage, but as soon as I find something cheaper, I'm leaving State Farm.

It seems to go higher and higher. I don't see senior discounts or low mileage discounts. Fortunately, I haven't had any claims, but my insurance doesn't go down because of no claims.

It's expensive. They talked me into getting a monitor to save on insurance, then they did away with mileage readings.

I feel they are a great company, but I am having trouble with money nowadays. Everything is so expensive, and I wish insurance was cheaper. They’ve always been great at handling everything on the phone. They are very polite both in person and on the phone, and they treat you like an individual person, not just another number in a book or a paycheck. They actually have wonderful people skills and communication skills. I just wish it was somewhat cheaper, but I guess you could say that about everything from insurance to groceries these days.

Shop around before you buy, but make sure you're comparing apples to apples.

I only used it one time and they were very good. My only complaint is that my premium keeps going up, and I’ve had no claims for at least 4 years. The one claim I had was due to an uninsured driver, and it was very small.

It was good. I forgot the name of the guy, but he really helped me. He was at one on Cardinal and Valencia. Yeah, he was very helpful and went out of his way for me. Thank you so much.

The coverage is fantastic, but $207 a month for full coverage is way too much. I’m looking for many different alternatives. I just found one I think for less than $50 for coverage a month.

It's no good. All insurance companies have steady growth, and we, the good drivers, are paying for it! I'm 46 years old, and I've never had a ticket. I was in an accident in August. It was not my fault, and now my payments are going up to $350 a month. Why? It wasn’t my fault, and I never got a ticket. I'm 100% not responsible for the accident, but it doesn’t matter what company I go to, they're all overcharging me. I got quotes of $170, $290, and then suddenly it's $273, $300, $354. I'm like, what the heck?

My problem with State Farm is that to get a discount, they require a transponder to be installed in the car. The transponder communicates with a cell phone to feed data back to State Farm. The only problem is it doesn’t work, and I’ve spent an hour or two on the phone with my agent trying to get it to work with no luck. I’m retired, so I hardly ever drive the car. We have driven it as much trying to get the transponder to work as I would on a normal basis.

I appreciate the customer service, but I feel they are overpriced. I have been comparing with other companies, and SF is twice what others have quoted me.

Average but higher cost.

The price has gone sky-high, and I wouldn't recommend it to a friend. It has increased from $103.00 to $187.00, which I think is ridiculous.

My policy went up about 40% with one liability claim. I'm looking for another policy. I thought I had accident forgiveness on my first claim.

They consistently increase rates.

My policy increased consistently, even with no accidents and no tickets. Then when I had an accident, they dropped my coverage.

A $175 quote turned into $220 in less than a year. Other insurers are offering half that.

State Farm has become remote and inflexible with me. I've not had a ticket in over 4 decades, not made a claim with State Farm for house or car...EVER, and my rates only go up. I've spoken with a number of representatives at the Curtis Hansen SLC office, and none of them offered any coherent insight on how to lower my rates.

Very expensive and keeps going up in price, not worth it. Roadside assistance is also very expensive. You can't use the tow service because it only covers 10 miles, and then it's $200 for a tow after that. Overall, very much not worth it. I'm not happy with this company at all.

State Farm has terrible customer service and took months to process two separate claims. My car needed $7,000 - $8,000 worth of repairs, which my body shop said could have been completed in two weeks. However, I dropped my car off in early December and didn’t get it back until mid-February. I asked the shop what the delay was and was advised the insurance company was refusing to pay for quality, factory parts. On a separate claim, my wife hit a deer which totaled her car. We did receive a fair payment for this loss, however, it took several months as we were constantly bounced around several departments with little to no communication.

Insurance coverage itself is really good. However, rates have increased beyond what I can currently handle.

They were charging way too much. They were charging me $1900 for my house every six months, and I have no mortgage. They wouldn't let me pay monthly.

I feel like I'm being punished for a car accident where I was hit from behind, which totaled my 2012 Jeep Liberty Limited and pushed me into the car in front of me. The other driver also had State Farm. I received $7,100 to get another 2012 Liberty Sport. Now, my monthly insurance with State Farm is $146, up from $80. Other companies, like Progressive, see the totaled Jeep and won't insure my current Jeep (same year, too confusing for them?).

Mediocre... I had a flat tire on the road. They referred me to a tow company that actually offered a higher price than the one I eventually chose.

They raised their rates four times over a six-month period for no reason, and I have a perfect driving record for 40 years. They claim it's the type of car, but it's not a Ferrari. My Corvette was three times cheaper at $120.00 per month versus $130, then they raised it to $220 a month for the new car.

They charge too much for senior citizens. What happened to a discount and the price of $29.99?

My current insurance is a lot cheaper than State Farm insurance.

I had a claim with State Farm, and they did not supply me with enough money to buy another vehicle. Mine was totaled, and they sent it to salvage and paid my lender, but I was left with no car and no down payment. I was relieved of the debt to the lender, which is something, but it's just not the way I wanted it. I wanted to buy the car from them as salvage.

State Farm raised my payment in May 2025 to $352.30, June $352.30, July $355.42, August $355.42, September $355.43, October $467.60, November $495.20, December $495.20, January $464.27, February $468.58. This should be illegal; no notice in the mail. They are just playing with numbers, and I’m over it. That’s how I feel! This is crazy! Can State Farm do this? Tips to my friends: stay away.

Evidently, LexisNexis said something negative about me, but I can't get my insurance company to tell me what it is. So my rates went up because of that (they did tell me that).

I was with them for over 2 years, thinking I was in good hands, but found out my policy was not very good. My coverage was not adequate for the money I was paying them! I moved out and got another insurance company as well as homeowners insurance.

Promising discounts with the Drive Safe module, but no discounts were added for safe driving. It costs too much.

Overall, State Farm has been okay, but we haven’t had any claims for years. We feel like they are charging too much, and we haven’t had any claims. We have 2 houses insured with them and 2 vehicles, but there are no special rates for long-time (years) customers.

I've been with State Farm for years. I don't understand why if you add a vehicle without all the coverages as your existing policy, you have to get a new one, and then you don't receive any of your discounts, including longevity. You are rated as a new customer.

Way too expensive. $145.00 for just the legal minimum, and I'm planning to buy a scooter, which I don't need insurance for. Other companies want $260.00 to $1,700.00 per month. I haven't had any tickets in 7 years and no DUIs since 1992. Car insurance is frustrating.

I had a disappointing experience with State Farm. After my wife had two strokes, I took her off the policy. I was told that my premium would decrease, but instead, it increased by $30.00/month. When I filed a claim for flood damage caused by a water softener unit in my home, they categorized it as sewage backup. They also informed me that mold was not covered by the policy. I am now in the process of switching to a different company. I have been with State Farm for almost 60 years, and I feel dissatisfied with their service.
