State Farm Insurance
Good insurance company, but very expensive, even with the multi-car discount. I understand why insurance rates increase every year, as driving behavior can be reckless. Many drivers act like they own the roads. Additionally, I believe that at least 85 to 90% of drivers here in Ohio do not have insurance, though this is just my opinion.

No appreciation for a customer who remained loyal for over 50 years. They give me the runaround when I ask about discounts for having no DUI or any tickets and had one claim (hit a tent pole at Chick-fil-A) resulting in a policy increase.

Overall Thankful!
Grateful for the speedy claim last February, with upfront and ongoing support. It was handled totally without worry or anxiety. I don't really enjoy having to pay an additional $50 per month post-accident, but compared with other providers, it seemed to be expected.

Disappointed with State Farm
We've been with State Farm for over 40 years, but we're leaving now. They wouldn't even let me talk to anyone about the high increase in my bill. I was sent to this agent when my previous agent retired. We are retired and live on Social Security, and I can't pay what they are charging. They did ask me to let them know if I leave, but that's not happening.

Old, established customers get no breaks!
I’ve been with State Farm for twenty-three years and have always had both multiple cars/trucks and home insurance coverage from them. For a while, I even had motorcycle coverage. We have never had issues with State Farm until the past two years. Their pricing has been very good, but our rates have been increased almost monthly! Their rates have gone up in this time period by thirty-plus percent! I’m now, after sixty-plus years, looking at lots of less expensive options!

Why I'm Looking
Overall, it's PAY PAY PAY. It's great to have full coverage on all three vehicles. I dislike the amount or agent-based pay instead of just paying for full coverage. That's my whole reason for shopping for "new" rates. If I received a partial refund on what I didn't use, that would be awesome.

State Farm: Unbelievable Agent
When my wife and I were in an accident in the Blue Ridge Mountains and were airlifted to a trauma center in Tennessee, I called my agent to report the accident while laying flat on my back. She told me I needed to call the corporate number. I explained that I was flat on my back with IVs in me, and she said, "Don't worry, I will take care of everything. Call me back when you are better." They handled everything for us. When we returned home and went to see them, it was unbelievable. They said, "Bring all your bills in, and we will handle it for you."

Terrible experience after Milton
Terribly disappointed after State Farm coverage for 60 years. House and lanai roofs damaged from Milton. State Farm wanted to replace only half the lanai roof, although it wouldn't match the remaining half that wasn't blown off. They wanted to replace 20 shingles on a 20-year-old roof, although the same shingle was no longer available and wouldn't match. State Farm's total estimated damage for roofs and other damage was so low it was less than the deductible. Not one dollar paid! Unacceptable for a $5100/year policy.

Unsatisfied with Conditions and Quotes
I am upset with the pricing, the quote, and how my insurance has increased despite promises that it would go down. I've had billing problems, and all the quotes I have gotten from other insurance companies always manage to give me a higher rate because of a statement and quote from State Farm. Every quote I tried to get, where it says lower insurance rates for no DWIs in the state of Texas and good credit, still results in higher policies than State Farm. I do not understand why I am still paying a high insurance rate with no DWIs, no tickets, no accidents, and over 15 years of good standing. I am even over 65 and on a low income, but I do not understand why, when all the advertising promises low insurance rates for no DWIs and senior services. That is why I gave them a low rating. All the phone calls I have been getting say the same thing: higher rates, despite advertising low rates. There's nothing I can do about it but keep taking phone calls. I have no choice but to stay with State Farm because all the insurance quotes I have gotten have been at least $10 to $20 more for the same coverage, even though this insurance said low rate. That is why I tried for it, but it only came back the same or more than what I was getting from State Farm.

Poor Customer Service
I have used SF for approximately 25 years. They changed management several years ago, and I feel the customer service is lacking. I have seen nothing but price increases since. I called a few times to see if I could get a reduction since I have several cars with them and never heard back. This is the reason I’m looking elsewhere.

Unhappy
I just feel that every time my policy would come due again, it would just go up and up. Then, my last one went up to $164, but when I got my bill, it was $169. It went up over 20 something dollars, and they don't seem to help seniors with their rates. They say that State Farm is really good at raising everybody's rates to take care of their commissions. I don't know if that's true, but I'm not really happy with it. I'm looking for something cheaper.

Poor experience
Terrible experience. I have had no claims in over 30 years, yet every policy has increased in the past two years, sometimes by over 20 percent. Not helpful, they should have been able to see how long I had insurance.
I would say one should check with them for any changes in policy. I was told it's the office's job, not the actual agent. I had them for 30 years, then my car died, so my employer gave me one of theirs and they covered it. When they signed it over to me, I went to get insurance and was told it was so high because of a lapse. Even while still having an active license, they take it as driving without insurance!

Less than Impressed
I called to add a driver to my policy, and the agent was rude and hung up on me. If it weren't for the fact that it was a Saturday morning and I was purchasing a new truck, I would have dropped my insurance with you guys immediately. I called back and got another representative and managed to get the driver added on at that time. However, the increased cost for the truck I bought is astronomical at around $230 a month. Shopping around, I've found the same insurance coverages for less than $100 a month. Tips I'd give a friend: shop around.

Every month, my insurance rates keep increasing. I think within three months, they went up by almost $20. I'm on a fixed income and can't afford this. I don't even drive much. My car is brand new from four years ago and hasn't even hit 10,000 miles yet, so that tells you how little I drive. Maybe I should be looking for pay-by-the-mile insurance.

Horrible. I've been with them for years, and it's all about the money and getting every dime they can for as little coverage as possible. Customer service is horrible, at least at State Farm in Wichita Falls, TX. They never call you back or leave a message, like they don't care, which they don't. If you can't reach me by phone, leave a message or email; don't use that as an excuse or say it's my fault. Try a little harder, please! Oh well, goodbye. State Farm, happy to take but not to give.
They are happy to let you pay for their service as long as you don't actually use their services. I had State Farm for over 30 years. During this time, I might have filed a claim, but they were happy to take my money and increase premiums every few years. However, recently a family member received a minor moving violation ticket, and I had to file two claims (one was our fault and the other was an uninsured motorist). That was enough for State Farm to tell us that they would not be renewing our policy. That is how State Farm treats its long-term and loyal customers. I would stay as far away from State Farm as you can.

Bad Insurance Companies
My car rates were just over $400 when my car was new in 2015 for full coverage on a 6-month policy. Now, my same coverage is $960 for 6 months, more than double for my 10-year-old car. Progressive is much lower, but they refuse to insure any Hyundai or Kia car. Someone should investigate why both these companies are overcharging people.

Chargeable My Accident
I hit a deer and State Farm found me at fault and raised my insurance $100 a month. I would love to know how hitting a deer is a chargeable accident. Policy not honored, left with a dead car
My agent is phenomenal, but my full coverage was not upheld by State Farm’s policy that I bought into. Auto payments were on time, and I never filed a claim. Now I sit with a fairly new vehicle that will never run again due to parts that will never be manufactured again. Apparently, my full coverage doesn’t cover catastrophic explosions of faulty parts of the engine, nor what I have been suffering physically as a result of that incident that occurred while driving on the Turnpike at 65 mph with absolutely no warning signs, nor did my DIC (Dashboard Information Center) indicate that the vehicle was having major problems to warn me to get it to the dealership ASAP! Yes, I’m still with State Farm because I’m stuck with them until someone helps me with what, who, and where to go, as the car is still in a lien mode that was supposed to be paid in full in 2022. I’m afraid that I won’t get approved by any other insurance company with this situation that happened on Friday, April 7, 2023, and State Farm is still taking those monthly payments to this very day.
