I was with Toggle for about 3 years, and all of a sudden they no longer offered insurance after they took $31.00 from me. I went to Direct, paid $50.00, and then found Progressive and decided to go with them. Direct informed me they would charge a $50.00 cancellation fee after 2 days.

Progressive always has the cheapest quotes but should include at least one roadside assistance call every six months since there are no claims of accidents. I'm paying for 2 cars to sit in the garage as I am disabled. But when I do drive, I would like to feel safe. I drive about 3,000 miles every 6 months total for both cars. So it's kind of money for nothing, but it's the law.

They resolved a claim I had on a wreck that I was at fault for within a week. Unfortunately, all of my compensation went to the lien holder on my title loan, but that's not their fault. It was mine, and at least most of the money paid off a large portion of my remaining debt on that loan.

I was shocked at how much my premium increased. I had to raise my deductible and lower some coverage in order to keep my premium affordable. I’m on a fixed income.

My wife unfortunately had an accident in October and was found at fault. The insurance coverage was good, the response was timely and the settlement was fair on the totaled vehicle. However, we found out our next month’s coverage price is being raised by $100/month. It was already high in my opinion, and now they want to almost double it! We bought a newer car, but it’s a Volvo sedan, still 5 years old, with tons of safety features. I’m tempted to just take liability insurance and negotiate with the finance company.

I had been with Earie for years. I was hit and injured through no fault of my own. The man that hit me had no insurance. Thank God I had uninsured motorist coverage. It has been a year and almost four months, and I am still having major problems from the wreck. Praise the good Lord that the store video captured the wreck. But that’s when I found out I was underinsured. That’s when I searched and found Progressive. I now have the highest insurance coverage for less than I was paying for Earie. Being elderly and disabled, I am thrilled.

They charge too much and they don't offer discounts for seniors. Their prices are always changing with hidden costs. They don't give people a chance to pay before they cancel your policy.

Go with another provider. The accident claim creation is very user-friendly, but the process afterward can be quite a headache. Their driving tracker is faulty, and they blame you for it, so if you don't advocate for yourself, you will be overcharged. Secondly, their price hikes are ridiculous.

I had insurance with them for several years. I canceled for 6 months because I signed my car over to my son. They did not tell me that I had to keep insurance, that it was the law. I never knew this and they have penalized me for this when I got another vehicle 6 months later.

The policy is in 6-month increments. At the end of the 6 months, the premium increases significantly. I was given discounts when I signed up, which apparently disappear after six months. It feels like a bait and switch operation.

Rates are higher than other companies.

Overpriced with no accidents in 50 years and no tickets. Prices keep going up, and their app shows heavy braking occasionally because I was cut off or driving defensively.

I have Progressive. I would not recommend them. They quoted me one price and took an additional amount out of my account. I didn’t mind the additional fee, but they should have told me they would take out the fee. That’s not honest to me.

All insurance for home/auto has been super high in the last few years. My Social Security will go up 2.8% next year, but my auto insurance will increase by more than 7%, and my home insurance will rise by 16%.

They raised my rates because I accidentally damaged the rear panel of my truck in my driveway. I’m paying $273 per month for two vehicles! That is way too much!

The accident was not my fault, but if you're older, they just blame it on you. I was hit in the rear, and the car ran up the side of me, denting my door and taking off my mirror as I started to move to the other lane. The other car was nowhere in sight when I started, and the driver didn't even blow his horn. They didn't even ask me about it and raised my premium from over $600 to over $1300. I didn't even turn it in to get my car fixed; I bought the mirror myself.

Do not allow them to pull from your bank account. They pulled a double payment without my knowledge. My son, who doesn't have a license or live with me, was in a car accident with me, and they decided he was of legal age and added him to my policy. I called and let them know he wasn't a driver and had no license. They haven't returned my money and are saying I need to fill out paperwork, which I didn't have to do when they added him on.

It was Progressive, but they canceled my policy while I was waiting for the bank to free my account when they froze my debit card because someone tried to hack me. A new card was to be ordered on the 3rd of the month, but the bank dropped the ball and reordered on the 15th. They only wanted the debit card for payment. I called to inform them, but that didn't matter to them.

Instead of getting lower, it's going up. Just a bad deal from them. I've never had any wrecks or tickets, no dues, nothing.

The price for a good driver is fair, but when filing a claim, don't expect this insurance company to make the process customer-friendly. I would not recommend this insurance company to a friend.

Shop around before you commit to Progressive Insurance because how Snapshot evaluates your driving daily could and will affect your next premium rate. Don't trust that the quote Progressive gave you initially will remain in effect permanently for the duration of your coverage with Progressive Insurance Company. Lastly, this company doesn't consider the economic state of the nation and the inflation affecting all Americans, even me.

I don't appreciate Progressive changing my policy because of the Snapshot evaluation between March 2025 and September 2025. That's when Progressive increased my policy from $305 to $330.75, and it will remain at this rate until the policy expires on April 5th, 2026.

Don't join Progressive. You request full coverage at maximum and get it for the other involved in an accident, yet nothing for your own vehicle. I don't call that full coverage, and it stipulates that if you're working when the accident happens, you're supposed to be fully covered. NOT TRUE! And I've been out of work for 7 days since the incident happened. I got hung up on and was told my vehicle wasn't covered for that specific damage.

Overpriced! Lack of communication when prices increase. Just because of events in life should not raise my rates. My years of good driving should speak for itself. I was not at fault in the last minor bumper accident, but they didn’t care.

I think it is too expensive and I am not getting anything out of it. I had a flat tire and they didn’t help me. I have a cracked mirror and they want to charge me the full amount for it. I don’t like them at all. I would never recommend them and if I didn’t have to have it, I would not have it!

Be prepared for rate increases. Policy renews every 6 months. Every 6 months the policy charge increases, even without any claims.

I am one month away from my renewal date and have no idea how much they want to increase my premium. The last six-month increase was enormous, even though I had no claims. I will be shopping for other offers, but it's hard to consider them when I don't know what the new bill will be.

I haven't had a claim in 40 years, and because my tire slipped off a narrow road and hit a rock driveway embankment, costing them $5000, they doubled my insurance.

I used their Snapshot program and had 5 hard brakes in one year, which led to a $30 increase in my rate. I feel they are deceptive.

The rates are high for seniors over 70, and every agent you talk to tells you something different and doesn’t give you the best discount. I’m not ready to give up my independence, but their price on minimum coverage is too high! Snapshot is not accurate and beeps when you try to avoid an accident or there’s a dip in the road. I’ve been charged $190 for driving less than 50 miles a week and sometimes only 50 miles in a month. I wish they would give me a refund for all the overpayments.

I'm tired of them raising my rates every 6 months, and I've never had a claim in 12 years.

The monthly rate is too high for a nine-year clean driving record. The monthly rate has fluctuated from the initial amount. Customer service was nice but not helpful. The provider does not give the best rate unless you bundle (I don't need to) or select auto-pay (I don't want to), which is a $63 difference.

They started a second account from VA, charging me around $248 for eight months when I had an account for over three years at around $208. They have yet to reimburse me for those auto payments from the bank. Very upset with doing business with Progressive Insurance.

My wife and I can't believe how insurance companies can raise the cost of your policy by $250 after only 6 months. We had no tickets or accidents. They said it's because our car has lots of computer chips, and those things are very expensive to fix. We have a very clean driving record, but they claimed they were giving us the best deal they could. Progressive also has a plug that tracks how you drive, and it is not a good thing to have on your vehicle.

I don't drive as much as I did before, only for essential work trips. I should receive a better rate for my individual current driving habits, not a collective of other drivers' habits.

As a senior, I expected to receive a discount, but they offered me the highest policy instead. If you rely on a monthly check, this might not be the best option for you.

Be careful of agents that try to pressure you into purchasing coverage you don't need just for their commission. Search for one that cares about your needs and the coverage that you really need.

All insurance is very expensive in Florida. For auto, we have clean driving records, excellent credit, and only drive (combined) 4,000 miles a year but still have high premiums. Also, we do not live in the City of Palm Coast.

I had nothing but good experiences until the last one. I was given a quote, and after already being a policyholder and trying to add a vehicle in the app to my current policy, I was given a rate. However, when trying to finish and pay for the new policy, I kept getting an error message that the VIN could not be verified and to call customer service. A gentleman told me to exit out of the quote and allow him to review it because, according to him, the VIN was correct. However, after that, I was given a price that was almost double the quote. When I tried to go back to the quote, I was no longer able to access it. I tried to redo it, and the price went from $276 to over $400. I was told that there was no information that any quote was ever done, and even though it showed up in the app after logging in, I got logged out without logging out myself. Upon logging back in, the quote was nowhere to be found, as if it had never been done. I saved screenshots and told them that I had the screenshots of the quote and even the quote number, which I provided to Progressive, but the rate and amount they had were completely different. If I could give negative 5 stars, I would.

Going through an agency, you pay double what you can get online with the same company.

Their lack of customer information is extremely poor. It caused issues with my renewal amount and an increase when I fixed the issue of why it went up.
