So far, Progressive has been okay for us. My insurance did not go up this year, which is a good sign.

Progressive doubled my insurance bills without notifying me. That's not right. Plus, they wanted the new renewal fee. I decided not to pay. On top of that, I never received bills in the mail to pay the premiums. So I switched providers.

Make sure to comparison shop.

I did have a reason to communicate with my insurance, Progressive, and it was helpful, low-key, and efficient.

As anyone should do, keep looking for prices. Some places claim discounts for no accidents in over 3 years. Some offer discounts for low mileage annually. They claim all sorts of discounts but do not deliver. I have yet to find any insurance company that stands behind their statements. Progressive is no different.

I had to cancel my policy after a move because I lost the multi-car discount. Progressive did offer me a discount for taking a renter's policy. However, with the new auto policy came the Snapshot app. In the end, my auto insurance doubled. I had been a policyholder prior to the move for over 5 years. I am on a fixed income and can no longer afford this. I guess I'll be playing the insurance game.

Liberty Mutual was not a good experience for me, so I returned to Progressive.

They increased my premium. My Corvette insurance is $37 lower than the Ford Escape with a 4-cylinder engine.

Progressive gave me a great rate at a reasonable price. It is not the fullest coverage but meets the state requirements.

They seem to be very professional and very helpful. We have had no claims, thank God! But I would recommend them to anyone.

$250 for minimum coverage is unjustifiable and unacceptable. The company is taking advantage rather than providing reasonable service. No tickets, no accidents, no changes, so there's no reason to be overcharged.

I'm disappointed that my rates were raised because a power line broke and set my tool shed on fire.

I had Progressive for about 12 years, and we were Emerald level clients. After 2 accidents last year, they sent me a non-renewal notice. I was upset, but it turned out to be a blessing because they were charging about $8,800 for full coverage for 3 cars per year. After shopping around online, I found 2 different major companies that offered the same policy for about half the price. I will definitely shop prices every few years from now on.

I have insurance with Progressive, and because of my age of 75, I feel I've been discriminated against. While some cars pay less than $900 a year, I have to pay $2,800 because of my age. According to their agents, an elderly person represents a danger.

Regarding the claim I had, I thought Progressive would have backed me since I feel that the incident was not my fault. There was nothing I could have done to avoid the e-bike from hitting the rear quarter panel of the passenger side of my car. Instead, they decided to settle the claim. If I were in a better financial position, I would have hired a lawyer and fought this. Well, it is closed now. I sincerely hope my rate does not increase due to this incident. Lastly, I am waiting for a release from the other party's attorney assuring me that he cannot come back to me in the future. Alyssa Watson is supposed to send it to me as soon as she receives it.

Progressive charged me twice what I was paying during renewal without discussing it with me. Be cautious if your card is on file.

Rates seem high for seniors with low miles and not used every day.

I was initially given a lower quote, but it has periodically increased despite my choosing lower coverage.

Progressive's quote was as expected, but each quarter it increases to a very high amount. I would not recommend them. Look for another company now.

I really have not had much customer service interaction with the company, as I have had no claims in the over three years I have been with them. I have called twice to see about lowering my monthly rate, but unless I want to change my coverage, there is no way. It's strange how my monthly rate keeps going up each month little by little. It started with my Jeep Cherokee. The first month the rate was $72, and three years later it was over $90 a month, and this was with no claims at all. Now with my new car, the rate each month has gone up again. It’s now over $114 this last month, and I have only owned the car for 4 months.

Rates are extremely high. No claims have ever been filed. Basing insurance rates on credit is crazy.

Usually, the longer you have insurance through a company, the cheaper it is supposed to get. Progressive is not that type of insurance company. When you call and ask about the increase to your insurance, the company gives poor answers.

Overcharging us even though we have been customers for over 5 years! They raised our premiums because of our no-fault claim.

Progressive is a little cheaper than others; however, I've been with them for 4 years, and it seems my policy kept going up and not down like other companies do. I felt I stayed stuck at the same amount the entire time, or it was going up and not down. When asked why, all I got was, "All companies raised their policy this year." Nothing about how or when it will go down. So to me, Progressive is another company that is only out to take your money. I never had an accident or anything to raise my amount.

When I first got Progressive, they quoted me $103 monthly. Well, the following month they charged me $174, and that continues. I talked to customer service, and he told me the raise in insurance was because I wasn't with my previous company, Geico, for 3 months, which is ridiculous because I was with Geico for 5 months. They were too high at $164 a month.

Progressive tripled my rate after a minor accident.

The pricing was not accurate. My quote was $147, then it jumped to $170, and then to $190 in a matter of one week! I'm not pleased with Progressive at all. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Too expensive. They gave me a price, but every month they take $40 more than the agreement states, and no one can tell me why. Every time I try to search for a different insurance, they always transfer me back to Progressive. They continue to raise the price every 6 months and say it's because I live in Fallon, Nevada. I have a very good driving record. I started out paying $97.00 a month, and now, because of where I still live, it's $197.00 a month. I still have a perfect record, and I'm 65.

Everything is automated. We appreciated the roadside assistance; we paid full price, and this was essential. We used them for a dead battery, and Progressive roadside service was excellent.

NYS has the highest premiums anywhere, despite a great driving record! I've had zero tickets since 1989, yet my premiums go up all the time. Progressive told me 3 years ago it was because of the payout costs. Either get a new accountant or make offenders pay what they owe, not on the low income! Please.

Watch out for rate increases with no explanation of why they're raising your rates when you have no accidents and no moving violations.

If you put in any claim, even just for glass, they will investigate you and find any way possible not to complete the claim.

Stay away from Progressive! I have never had a ticket or a claim, and my policy went up from $160 to $238 monthly for my wife and me. Every 6 months, it increased drastically. After getting 15 different quotes, I found that Progressive is the most overpriced auto insurance on the market. After getting a new policy with Liberty Mutual, the Progressive agent wanted to see if they could find me savings. Those should’ve been offered to me before I switched. Also, I got twice the coverage through Liberty Mutual for right at half the cost of Progressive and their minimum coverage!

I think it's pretty expensive. My advice to people looking for car insurance is to shop around first.

Just like any other company, they give you a rate then increase your next policy premium by about $120 each renewal period, even for being a perfect driver. They are not great.

I used Progressive for less than a month and will never use them again. They falsely advertised a deal just to pique one's interest. Then I talked to a sales representative and found out they had wrecks on my record that never happened. This was the result of them using a third party instead of the DMV.

Better customer service. Agent knowledge is much better than Progressive.

I recently received a 6-month renewal with a $279 increase on an already overpriced premium. When I called to question why my less than 30 miles driven daily average doesn't reduce the premium, they said they do not consider it. (Recently, the State of Illinois ruled this is legally applied.) When I asked for the reason for the increase, I was given the usual claim that my state's larger claims are to blame, which I have heard from insurance companies for decades. This is reason enough to look for honest coverage elsewhere.

Progressive raises their rates for no reason.

I asked for a copy of my insurance and still, after 8 years, have not received it. My insurance went up despite having no accidents or DUIs. I don't drink and drive only 3-5 miles a month to local stores.

Unfortunately, at this time they are the lowest I can find. I signed up for Snap and got a 10 percent discount and did well for the first 6 months, but my insurance went up even though I did well on the Snap program. I have one more year for my wreck to come off my record, and hopefully, my credit score will be much better, and I will be able to shop around. From 1 to 10, they get a 5.

I would never insure with Progressive again. They took money when my policies were paid and refused to pay me back, so I canceled all my policies and went elsewhere. I actually got a cheaper quote.

As soon as your 6-month policy is up, they raise your rates over $100 per month even though you don't have any accidents.

Get a discount for being old and not driving very many miles a day.
