Their rates for car insurance are the best I can find.

We had an accident and they were excellent and fast.

I feel that given our age (83) and the small amount of driving we do (1,200 miles per year), our rate should be much lower. They claim that since my grandson, who was on the policy, had a not-at-fault accident, it will affect my rate even though I took him off. That accident had absolutely nothing to do with me. Unfair!

Disappointing. I switched from State Farm to Progressive for the lower rate. Then, within 6 months, my rate increased by almost $200. I thought I was getting the lower rate for at least the first year.

I had a small fender bender that did hardly any damage to the other person’s car and mine. They claimed it was damage done at another time and would not pay for all of it, which was untrue. Then they turned around and raised my rate by approximately $80.

I'd tell my friends in my age group to shop around, as Progressive is expensive.

Progressive sent me their Snapshot device twice, but it couldn't be hooked up or work properly. They kept sending me emails stating that unless this device is hooked up, my rate will be raised. This happened even after I notified them that their device did not work. If they raise my rate, I will cancel my insurance. What they are doing feels like harassment to me and other customers.

The price kept changing back and forth, and the site was very unstable.

First off, do not sign up for their SAFE DRIVER DISCOUNT. I found it very intrusive. They basically want to control your life while driving your vehicle, and when I refused to return the document, they raised my insurance by $50.00 per month. Plus, their home insurance was far more expensive than other major carriers.

I am looking for any company that doesn't require their app to monitor my driving. Progressive's app drains my phone battery.

Trying to renew my policy after 20+ years with Progressive was extremely hard. The right hand didn't know what the left hand was doing. Every time I called, it was a different person, and they were clueless about what was discussed with previous agents. I had enough; it was so frustrating.

So-so. They don’t believe you when you say your mother has her own insurance and does not drive your truck. They want you to fill out a form that says she doesn’t drive your truck. Extra hassle to go through. Their driving app is not accurate; it even picks up when I'm driving a forklift at work.

They will do their work but drag their feet in situations you don't expect. I had to get legal help to make them cover an uninsured motorist issue, and in another incident, they did not represent me well and did no investigative work to alleviate responsibility that was reasonably shared, not completely mine. That was damaging to me.

Progressive charges me $233.00 a month for a 1996 F-150 and a 2011 Charger (no Hemi). I have no tickets or claims. I'm actively looking for a new company. Don't use Progressive.

They are always changing the rates higher and higher every six months. I have not had a ticket in over 40 years. I have not caused any car accidents. I opt out of your medical coverage every time because I have Medicaid and Medicare. I also don't use your towing service because I have my own towing package elsewhere. So explain to me why every six months, when it rolls around, this insurance is constantly going up. I'm also on a fixed income. Where are all these savings I'm always being told I'm getting? Overpriced. Search online for the best price. I drive under 50 miles a month in a 1996 cargo van just for grocery shopping only, a 6-mile trip. State liability only, and it still costs $72.00 a month. It's a ridiculous price.

I'm very disappointed. These last 2 years, out of many years being with Progressive, have been crushing. I've been in 2 deer accidents with 10 years in between them. They put my kids on my plan, even though I did not want them there. One is afraid to drive, and the other had their own policy with Progressive. When I review my policy and tweak a couple of things, they cancel my current policy. They are not into saving you money; they take it. Snapshot is punishment for lowering your amount. The thing beeps when your car isn't even moving.

I would like to see better options at better prices. They do okay.

Car insurance is fine, but house insurance is terrible. My home insurance went from $900 the first year to $1,400 the second year, and now it's $2,100. I'm looking for new insurance.

I could never recommend Progressive. There are only discounts if you allow them to auto-draft your funds, and they take what they want. I have an excellent driving record, and still, the premiums are high.

It's hard to get new quotes from third parties, but they say Progressive is $60 cheaper per month if I switch. However, I had a stroke, and it's hard to switch all the paperwork. When I got my last renewal, I was told that it was the cheapest plan, yet the quotes were so much cheaper!

Be aware that their snapshot program penalizes you for hard braking and states this as a reason for raising their rates. Ridiculous!

I am unhappy with their reminder system. They let my insurance lapse without any notification. When I contacted them, they didn't seem to care. I had a couple of conversations with them and I resigned. They knew I had my boat insured with them and never told me my insurance on the boat was expiring. It is now expired. I am going to switch companies.

On the plus side, they are always happy to assist and always friendly. However, it's only because they charge high prices and increase the policy rates when you renew.

I am no longer with Progressive because they took advantage of me when I was desperate. I'm back with Geico, where I feel pretty good. My insurance at Progressive went from $47 a month to $123 a month (my share). My ex-wife caused issues in the last year of our marriage, and Progressive was more than happy to charge me more, which hurt. I paid them off for what she did, and I didn't find out about it until after the divorce. She also caused problems with Geico, but I paid them off too. I don't think it's fair that she walked away from the marriage squeaky clean and ruined my credit. Geico took into consideration what I had been through and helped as much as they could. Progressive better not take another payment out of my account. I will never put someone under my name again. Thanks, peace.

Progressive is exactly what its name says. I started over 4 years ago, just under $100. Each year following, 0 accidents, 0 tickets, DUIs, etc. 5-star driving record... now it's $175?? Shouldn't rates decrease for being an excellent, defensive driver? Hmmm?

Starts out at a good price, then it goes up. Mine is up to $190.00 a month. I am on a fixed income, and it is a struggle to keep.
