When I called to question why my less than 30 miles driven daily average doesn't reduce the premium, they said they do not consider it. (Recently, the State of Illinois ruled this is legally applied.) When I asked for the reason for the increase, I was given the usual claim that my state's larger claims are to blame, which I have heard from insurance companies for decades. This is reason enough to look for honest coverage elsewhere.

However, after reading their disclosure, I found the program too restrictive as it was designed to control everything I did when driving. So, I refused this rider. Immediately, my policy was increased by $50.00 per month. Even though I prepaid 6 months' premium for the auto policy and 12 months for the home policy, they waited until the 3rd month to notify me of the increase of $166.00.
