Good, just a little too high on cost.

The insurance rate is high. I've never had an insurance claim, DUI, or anything that would cause a high premium.

I've been with them for a long time. I bought a new car and everything doubled in price, so much for the loyalty program. I have no tickets and am considered a safe driver.

It's okay, they raised my monthly payment and when I called and asked why, the lady said it was because of trains. We have no trains in our area; the closest train is over 74 miles away. Then she said it was just the area. Funny thing is, my daughter lives right beside me and hers didn’t raise. I have no accidents or tickets. She also said that it was a rate adjustment. I guess I was the only one to get it.

It's good value for the money, but policy/price transparency could be better.

My insurance went from $112 for full coverage to $150+ for the same coverage. I moved to a smaller town in the same state and a less touristy area!

It's been pretty good so far. The pricing could be better, but other than that, it's been good.

Progressive is fine. It would be great to pay a lower rate since I don't drive 50 miles a week. I'm retired and usually only drive to doctor appointments or run errands.

Hello All, I just began using PROGRESSIVE Insurance for my car. I am retired (81 years old). The real "test" for any company, especially car insurance, is if I have a mishap and require them to act per our agreement for coverage. Stay tuned....

I just moved to GEICO. I left Progressive because they increased my rates more than double after someone hit my parked car and I made a claim.

I feel that they need to call their customers once a year to see if there are any changes.

So far, Progressive has been okay for us. My insurance did not go up this year, which is a good sign.

Progressive doubled my insurance bills without notifying me. That's not right. Plus, they wanted the new renewal fee. I decided not to pay. On top of that, I never received bills in the mail to pay the premiums. So I switched providers.

Make sure to comparison shop.

I did have a reason to communicate with my insurance, Progressive, and it was helpful, low-key, and efficient.

As anyone should do, keep looking for prices. Some places claim discounts for no accidents in over 3 years. Some offer discounts for low mileage annually. They claim all sorts of discounts but do not deliver. I have yet to find any insurance company that stands behind their statements. Progressive is no different.

I had to cancel my policy after a move because I lost the multi-car discount. Progressive did offer me a discount for taking a renter's policy. However, with the new auto policy came the Snapshot app. In the end, my auto insurance doubled. I had been a policyholder prior to the move for over 5 years. I am on a fixed income and can no longer afford this. I guess I'll be playing the insurance game.

Liberty Mutual was not a good experience for me, so I returned to Progressive.

They increased my premium. My Corvette insurance is $37 lower than the Ford Escape with a 4-cylinder engine.

Progressive gave me a great rate at a reasonable price. It is not the fullest coverage but meets the state requirements.

Too high in cost.

They seem to be very professional and very helpful. We have had no claims, thank God! But I would recommend them to anyone.

$250 for minimum coverage is unjustifiable and unacceptable. The company is taking advantage rather than providing reasonable service. No tickets, no accidents, no changes, so there's no reason to be overcharged.

I love everything about Progressive; unfortunately, it is expensive.

My experience with Progressive is number one. They are the best; they're there when you need them. The coverage is reasonable, and they work with you on everything. I would never trade Progressive for anybody. I love Progressive.

If you put in any claim, even just for glass, they will investigate you and find any way possible not to complete the claim.

Stay away from Progressive! I have never had a ticket or a claim, and my policy went up from $160 to $238 monthly for my wife and me. Every 6 months, it increased drastically. After getting 15 different quotes, I found that Progressive is the most overpriced auto insurance on the market. After getting a new policy with Liberty Mutual, the Progressive agent wanted to see if they could find me savings. Those should’ve been offered to me before I switched. Also, I got twice the coverage through Liberty Mutual for right at half the cost of Progressive and their minimum coverage!

I think it's pretty expensive. My advice to people looking for car insurance is to shop around first.

They keep raising my insurance despite having no violations, driving less than 50 miles per day, and my car being a 2013 model.

They need to offer more discounts and stop charging for things like driver accidents over 5 years ago, like driver forgiveness. Discounts should be better because of the primary carrier.

As with most mainline auto insurers, Progressive's rates are too high.

Just like any other company, they give you a rate then increase your next policy premium by about $120 each renewal period, even for being a perfect driver. They are not great.

Excessive rate for as little as I drive.

Decent coverage, but they took four hours and as many different companies to get me a tow, and spiked my rates through the roof for being in an accident.

Do not go with them. They will raise their rates every renewal.

I used Progressive for less than a month and will never use them again. They falsely advertised a deal just to pique one's interest. Then I talked to a sales representative and found out they had wrecks on my record that never happened. This was the result of them using a third party instead of the DMV.

Better customer service. Agent knowledge is much better than Progressive.

I recently received a 6-month renewal with a $279 increase on an already overpriced premium. When I called to question why my less than 30 miles driven daily average doesn't reduce the premium, they said they do not consider it. (Recently, the State of Illinois ruled this is legally applied.) When I asked for the reason for the increase, I was given the usual claim that my state's larger claims are to blame, which I have heard from insurance companies for decades. This is reason enough to look for honest coverage elsewhere.

Progressive raises their rates for no reason.

I asked for a copy of my insurance and still, after 8 years, have not received it. My insurance went up despite having no accidents or DUIs. I don't drink and drive only 3-5 miles a month to local stores.

Unfortunately, at this time they are the lowest I can find. I signed up for Snap and got a 10 percent discount and did well for the first 6 months, but my insurance went up even though I did well on the Snap program. I have one more year for my wreck to come off my record, and hopefully, my credit score will be much better, and I will be able to shop around. From 1 to 10, they get a 5.

I would never insure with Progressive again. They took money when my policies were paid and refused to pay me back, so I canceled all my policies and went elsewhere. I actually got a cheaper quote.

As soon as your 6-month policy is up, they raise your rates over $100 per month even though you don't have any accidents.

Get a discount for being old and not driving very many miles a day.

I have had a clean driving record for over 15 years. I drive less than 4,000 miles a year. I am a senior on a fixed income, and every time I turn around, my insurance goes up. I have to shop around and change every year to another company or get a new policy from Progressive. All of this is just nuts.

I would tell them that your rates increase really fast, and your transparency could be better. I think the agents are making a killing off people because when I went back to your site, the same insurance I had was a hundred bucks cheaper compared to what you're charging me per month. You can do better on that. Also, telling me that I'm paying for other people because they got in accidents—I'm not falling for that.

They attract you with a great rate, but when it's time to renew, they increase your premium by 70%.

They have fewer options than Gecko. Their rates start lower, but they raise their rates much quicker.

High prices and limited discounts. I've been with them for almost 10 years with only one not-at-fault accident. For my paid-off 2014 Tacoma, liability insurance, I'm still paying $175 a month.

I initially got a new policy from Progressive on 09/20/2025 because my auto and home insurance was cheaper than or equal to USAA. I signed up for their SAFE DRIVER program to save money. However, after reading their disclosure, I found the program too restrictive as it was designed to control everything I did when driving. So, I refused this rider. Immediately, my policy was increased by $50.00 per month. Even though I prepaid 6 months' premium for the auto policy and 12 months for the home policy, they waited until the 3rd month to notify me of the increase of $166.00. Now they're threatening to cancel my policies, ignoring the $1800.00 I had already paid them. Customers can't trust Progressive to deliver on their promises.

Progressive lives up to their name. My rates increase progressively every 6 months. I've had insurance for 18 months, paying $50 more with each renewal. No tickets or accidents. I pay the premium in full every 6 months.

Too expensive. Rate went up $50 despite zero claims. My wife has not driven a car in 10 years (physical disability), yet because we are married, she must be named as a driver. Previous attempts to have her removed would, I'm told, actually increase my rate. Attempts to find a different insurance carrier proved fruitless.

They gave me a price, and three months later it tripled. They said they gave me an introductory offer, but no one ever used those words when my daughter and I talked with them!

I just got a new policy and canceled my old one because you guys were charging me $240 a month for liability! I did a new quote and found out that for only $120 I could get full coverage. They renewed my policy and switched me from a 12-pay to a 6-pay plan, which made my payments too hard to manage. Plus, they raised my rates. They never contacted me to see if that's what I wanted.

I would not advise anyone to get Progressive because if you have to file a claim on your policy, they ask for things most people do not have. If you don’t have what they require, they deny you. You pay for the coverage, but they won’t help you cover a claim.

I got a quote and entered my driver's license number and all necessary information, which resulted in one quote. Then, when I proceeded to pay and was asked for VIN numbers, the price jumped $700. Insane.
