I currently have Progressive Insurance on my truck, but I'm looking to add my wife's car as well. The cost of both vehicles on a policy is less per month than I currently pay just for my truck. I'm currently paying about $180.00 per month for both vehicles, so adding my wife's car to the policy with the quoted price would save me around $100.00 per month. I will be making this transaction in the next few days.

My rate on the next renewal went from $708 to $844 for 6 months, but similar rises may apply across the industry.

We are senior citizens on social security. We put about 1200 miles per year on our car. No recent accidents. Our rates are so high because we don’t have good credit, not based on our driving. This is not acceptable or fair. The monthly rate is approaching the monthly car payment.

It's unfair if a policyholder owns two vehicles and wants to increase the insurance liability on one of the cars, that you will not allow it on one car. We have to increase the liability on both cars, which is unfair. Other than that, Progressive has good insurance rates.

Initially, I was dissatisfied as my rates kept going up, but after I contacted customer service, I was able to get a much better rate. Insurance companies can be somewhat sneaky, and if you don't object, they may overcharge you.

Everything is online. I would prefer to be able to sit across a desk from my agent to discuss my specific coverages. Also, the incident claim process can be confusing. Why is the claim still open if, in fact, a payout has been issued? It leaves me stressed out!

Not good. They are ridiculous as far as price for insurance. The app for driving always says you're on your phone when you're not. It connects to your car hands-free, so that part needs to go because it's so inaccurate in grading your driving.

Charged too much for insurance. $240.00 for PLPD is way too much with no points in 20 years. I don't understand why this is what I have to pay, and the rate went up.

Progress Insurance is really defending its title. Every 6 months, they raise their premiums without any acceptable explanation! They take too long to guarantee benefits or pay out their quarter! We’re very sick and tired and frustrated with this policy that raises premiums above $100. Their next underwriting is giving us an increase of over $200! This is ridiculously unfair and unacceptable!

They gave me 3 different quotes in 6 months, each less than the previous one. Why not just do it when I first signed up? Very confusing!

They have raised my premium by almost $100 in 6 months. They aren't explaining very clearly why this increase is so much. I have one speeding ticket in the past 7 years, so this doesn't cause almost $100 increase. They have now checked my credit when they didn't when signing up. They have placed me as a GOLD STATUS MEMBER, but I didn't receive any discount, just an increase. They have sent me a notice stating that I must add all adults who are old enough to drive and live at my address onto my policy.

I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. I tried to cancel my autopay twice because Progressive took money out of my account when they shouldn't have. Twice, Progressive caused my account to overdraft due to their negligence in failing to remove my autopay as requested. Their customer service agents and supervisors are arrogant and less than friendly. We all deserve to be treated like human beings, and this company will definitely treat you like a policy and/or payment, not a human. Take your money and business where you are appreciated because here is not it.

I would tell a friend to find somebody else because they're not as cheap as they say they are. You probably save money someplace else. You can't go directly to Progressive; you have to go through an agent, and you get a whole lot of higher prices than what they talk about. They don't really save you any money; they actually cost you more money. I need somebody else.

Too expensive. I have a friend with a sports car who pays $98.00. I pay $153.00 for a Ford Fiesta.

I have a 2013 F150 that's financed and a perfect driving record. Despite this, I was paying $250 a month for insurance, which seemed high. Then, three months later, I received a bill for $750. When I called to inquire, they said it was because I hadn't provided proof of health insurance. I found this requirement unusual for car insurance and canceled my policy immediately. However, the next month, I received the same $750 bill. When I called again, they insisted I owed the amount, even though I had canceled the policy. I've never encountered an insurance company that charges for the previous month instead of the upcoming one.

Once again, you switch insurance companies due to ever-increasing rates. The initial cost is fair and accurate for a couple of billing periods, and then the increases begin. You shop around and then find the company you left for the same reason has a lower cost. It seems that you need to shop for car insurance every year, which is a bit tiring. This is coming from someone who has had no tickets or accidents in 15+ years. There is no winning when it comes to auto insurance.

Don't sign up with them unless you don't want any correspondence from them except when your bill is due. God forbid if you go with auto pay. If you go with auto pay, there's no way to change your billing info. Don't expect any help from their chat agent. They cannot respond to very simple questions, and there's no referral to a live agent.

I have never made any claim or had any accident, so I don't know if they make good on coverage. I have a bunch of discounts and loyalty discounts, but my insurance cost still goes up every 6 months. I began at $80 a couple of years ago and now pay $140 per month. It's kind of ridiculous.

I did not like the fact that I was charged $3,200.00 for a 6-month policy with a paid-in-full discount. Then, 2 months later, they withdrew another $600.00 from my bank account on a paid-in-full account. I don't plan to do business with Progressive through DM Burkhardt or State Farm anytime soon if I can help it.

It is too expensive for just liability.

Flo from Progressive is not a girl's girl. Car insurance rates are through the roof with only liability. No roadside assistance included, and customer care seemed indifferent to helping. Obviously, if I'm late, I can't afford a late fee, and when I asked if they could waive it, they said they couldn't because I wasn't with them for six months. From working as a front desk agent for Hilton for three years, I know there is always something people in customer care can do. I just switched to State Farm, and they saved me nearly $100 with roadside assistance and life insurance included. So thanks for the stress! I've had to miss so much school to work just to pay this poor excuse for insurance.

They need to send the policy to your home or email directly, not just attach it to an email where you have to sign into your account to view it. Once canceled, you have no access to it and have to wait 10 days for snail mail.

Don't go with them; way too high. I've been trying to make sense of why my policy is so high. I've been with them off and on, thinking it might be different, but it gets worse. If I miss a payment and make arrangements, there's another fee, and then a letter threatening cancellation if not paid by a certain date. That's just not right. I'm paying $282 a month with a $1,000 deductible. It was $284 with no roadside assistance, no car rental. I'm turning 70 in November, had an accident on 12/12/22, no DUI, no tickets, and no discounts except for the one where they take my payment. Lastly, I just paid my payment, and they charged me a reinstatement fee and say my next bill will be over $550. I'm retired and working PRN.

If you get a battery jump, Progressive will report it as an accident. So when you try to change insurance, the new insurance will see it listed and raise its quote. They also have an app that tracks your driving. I worked out of town on construction crews and had my own truck insured by my company. The app tracked that and raised my rates after the first 6 months. I explained multiple times that working out of town and state, I didn’t always drive my truck; someone else would drive, and we would ride in several company trucks. They didn’t care because the rep acted like their hands were tied. My insurance went up over $150, and I have no accidents or tickets. It's a scam.

Progressive is a bit overpriced. No discount for seniors who have never been ticketed or had accidents. I will be shopping for a more fair price.

Do not go with Progressive. You pay $302.00 one month, and the next month you pay $497.00.

Progressive is one of the higher-priced insurance companies, and they don't offer valued customers any discounted loyalty options. In fact, they increase your premium over time. I'm 61 years old with no violations, no DUIs, no accidents, and before my current policy expired, I contacted them to see if they could give me a better rate. NOPE! In fact, my premium increased, which is why I've been shopping for an alternative insurance company before my next payment is due. Would I suggest Progressive to family, friends, or others? Only if they want to pay more than they should for coverage. I believe they are running close to GEICO for insurance premiums. GEICO has taken first on that. So, Progressive isn't where I plan to stay in the future.

I've been with them for 2 months, and they've raised my payments twice.

I started with them paying $150 a month, and then it jumped to $178. I had that plug-in in my car and got renters insurance, but it wasn't a big discount at all.

Follow up quickly when they tell you your bank sent back charges. They do not accept proof from you or your bank, and this is how they are able to charge you more every single month. You have no recourse but to find another insurer to get out from under it.

I had several issues when I first started. The person who signed me up took it upon themselves to sign me up for options I was unaware of and did not authorize. When I called the company, they were able to fix my issue and lowered my bill. I have not had any problems since then.

We had Progressive on our car for 6 months and used the Snapshot feature. We were supposed to get a 14% discount at our renewal, but instead of a discount, our monthly payments went up.
