It is better than most others out there, but they could do better for people that rarely use their car, barely 20 miles a week if that. Look and compare. If they go higher, we will look elsewhere.

They give good drivers no benefits whatsoever. People with no accidents and no tickets pay the same as a person with tickets or accidents.

Totaled car on December 17th. Received payment amount on December 29th. Not sure, but I thought 12 days was too long. If I get the amount in my bank account by December 31st, the service will be excellent.

Geico is a good company, not a great company. My number one complaint is the cost; it's too high. My second complaint is fewer discounts and no action on Geico’s part to inform me of any available discounts.

The mobile app that checks your driving so you can get the good driver discount didn't always connect while I was driving, and I didn't get a good score at all. When I called Geico, the woman on the other end said there was nothing she could do and I could start it over in 6 months when I renew my policy. This is terrible. I'm a very good driver, and because of my score from a faulty program, I didn't get anything for joining the program. Very, very disappointed.

Price increases every year.

Outrageously expensive. I just added another vehicle to my policy, and my policy doubled even though I don't even drive the second car; it's like a weekend car. You can't get through to GEICO because of the automated system. Sometimes you spend hours on the phone.

It is difficult to explain when you have co-workers who are older, have a New York State driver's license from a few months ago, a slightly older vehicle, and still have full coverage, yet pay much less than me. That disappoints me about GEICO because I understood that it was one of the best and cheapest insurers on the market. However, I see how I pay almost $300 while they pay $150 or $180, and they are much older in age. I don't understand why my insurance doesn't go down. I've been with GEICO for more than a year, and the only solution I have is to change insurers in this new year.

I'm paying way too much a month! $234?? My vehicle has basic coverage and is a 2008. Since registering it in April, I've had zero problems, no tickets or accidents. Just because of the accident I had with my father's car, which did not involve anyone else, just me, I shouldn't be paying an amount I can't afford! I'm disabled since 2009 and have a fixed income, so paying this much means I have to live in my vehicle. Either I pay rent, or I drive, but I can't afford both. It isn't fair.

The costs are way too high.

I got a rate a year ago. No claims in the first 6-month and second 6-month periods. Their driver spy score went from 100 to 86 over two policy periods. The rate went from mid $500s up after the first 6 months. The second six months quote is at $710. I am canceling them.

I want to tell everybody to avoid Geico. I had a claim for a windshield, and they told me I didn't have windshield coverage. They said I had renter's insurance, which is not true. I did not have renter's insurance, nor did I want it. I told them I wanted the windshield coverage included with my insurance, but I never got it. I never liked Geico after that. They kept raising my premiums, even though I haven't had a ticket in 25 years. I'm still paying almost $100 every month. I'm going somewhere else because I can get it much cheaper, saving myself around $60.

This company keeps raising rates with no justification.

Check transparency and rates at every policy renewal. Unfortunately, I learned that the insurance trend is to lower premiums to gain customers, then raise prices higher than before after a few cycles. Stop penalizing good and safe drivers who barely need to drive due to working remotely. Everyone is not the same.

Hold times for customer service representatives were more than two hours on more than one occasion! I was paying more for auto-draft than if I had paid manually on my own.

They increase the rates too often, even when you never use the insurance.

Don't use whatever they are calling their safe driver app. I just tried using it for the first time. For the past 12 months, my insurance premium went from $314 to $340 six months later, then to $450 (but just for a couple of days). Then I was told that my driving was subpar based on the app. So with no accidents or citations, my "safe driver" discount of $50 something was revoked and a sanction of $80 something was added, making my new 6-month policy premium $650. Talking to them did no good. The system will not allow a CSR to make a change or override the charges. So, because it was the principle of it all, I figured if I was gonna pay more, I would do it on my terms. I pay more than $650, but I don't pay it to a company that said one thing and did another.

Sorry, it's too expensive for a senior who drives less than 100 miles per month.

At first, it was very easy and fast to get coverage. Then I tried to communicate to change it, and it was impossible. It was very expensive for a '98 car, and I have no accidents or tickets; my record is clean. I wanted to see options and could never communicate. I had to change my insurance.

Make sure to ask what the policy costs for the whole year. The Geico salesperson told me what six months cost, making me believe that would be the cost every six months. But when my next six months' premium was due, my yearly cost was more than what I would have paid the insurance company I switched from. Deceptive marketing.

Every time I find a way to lower my premium, they raise it. One year, they increased my policy by 30% when their operational costs only went up by 8% for that year. I just bought a house and got homeowners insurance, which initially dropped my rate, but now it's going back up. I have no tickets, no DUIs, and I haven't had an accident that was my fault in two decades or a handwritten ticket by a police officer in probably 15 years. Yet, they still find a way to raise my policy.

We were with GEICO for 25 years, had 3 minor accidents with no injuries, and the repairs were minimal. They raised our rates astronomically, and no one cared to assist us despite our 25 years of loyalty. Go with Progressive; they have accident forgiveness.

It took over 3 weeks to get a repair estimate, then another 3 weeks for the repairs. A poor experience overall.

You need to do something about your app. I cannot log in to get my discounts, and I am very dissatisfied with that part of your service. Other than that, everything is good. I'm still unable to access the app.

Exceptionally mediocre. My rates just went up again. At this point, paying for GEICO is more than a car payment would be. It’s a crappy car that shouldn’t be expensive to insure. I pay for everything out of pocket anyway because I’m paranoid that if I don’t, I’ll be penalized by the insurance company. How much sense does that make? I’m paying for repairs on my own because the thing I’m paying for already at $500 per month would go up even more. The thing that makes me dislike GEICO is that even if I repair my car out of pocket and continue paying the high premium, my rates still go up by $150. I can’t afford other stuff because I’m paying for insurance that I literally never use.

They have the worst automated help line! It's extremely difficult, and the system refuses to connect you to a human! I called on Friday to get a copy of my policy and didn't receive the email or the link until Saturday and early Sunday morning! I dislike dealing with the automated system!

They started out good, with monthly insurance payments. But they just sent me a renewal for 6 more months, and they raised my monthly payment by around $16. I haven't had any tickets or accidents that were my fault, so I will be going somewhere else.
