The DriveEasy program sounds like a great resource, but the actual app tracking itself is really finicky, unreliable, and seems to assume that any hard braking, cornering issues, or speed variances are entirely the fault of the driver. It does not factor in the actual reality of responding to the driving environment around you, which ultimately might lead to poor or unfavorable scores so that the discount might not actually be all it's advertised to be.

I was trying to renew for the date of 3-10-2026, starting in late February to be ahead of time. Geico canceled my policy, claiming my bank would not pay, but the bank said Geico did not try. Then, on 3-24-2026 at 12:01 AM, a Geico letter said my policy cancellation was reinstated from the previous cancellation date of 3-13-2026. In 10 minutes, I acquired Progressive car insurance. That day, my bank said Geico accepted my payment. Now I have the difficult task of getting my payment back from Geico, who said twice in letters that my car insurance policy was canceled.

The cost of a 6-month policy is the lowest I've been able to find. Every other insurer has yet to match or beat it. It came with a little more coverage than any other insurer has offered. Although they give you a discount for initiating Easy Drive, which monitors one's driving and driving habits, the app is so messed up (as in making outrageous claims of unsafe driving), I know I cannot expect them to offer to continue the discount or increase it at the end of the term when the app makes a report, or they review the driving data collected. The app is NOT trustworthy because of its flawed and erroneous assumptions. I could not believe it admonished my driving because it found an app open on my phone. "Yeah, the app Easy Drive which they insist one have open during trips," so that it can take in and record the data. Easy Drive is a joke. When I read the first report I looked at, I wondered if the report stated what it stated so that I would be found ineligible for a continued discount. After reading a couple of other reports, I am convinced this tongue-in-cheek accusation of mine to be a fact. My driving record is, after 45 years of driving, immaculate. Yet insurance companies want nearly 500 USD or more for a 6-month STATE MINIMUMS LIABILITY ONLY policy. I have proven that I am not a liability to them. When are insurers going to appreciate me for that?

Long-time client. Perfect driving record. Retired senior over 75, disabled wounded veteran. Geico stabs the elderly in the back, constantly. Geico refuses safe driver discounts to the elderly with perfect records. They do this to charge more (not unlike many other insurance companies) to pay for losses incurred by poor drivers. If you're late, you're fined $20. No rebuttal. Geico has to constantly advertise, spending millions as many veterans and seniors are leaving.

I feel like if you have full coverage and your car gets stolen and destroyed to where it's not even drivable, you should definitely get 30 days of rental car coverage, because that's what comes with it. But if they declare it a total loss, they only give you 3 days, which is not enough time to buy anything. And then you cannot buy anything with only four thousand dollars. All the items that were stolen from inside the car equaled about six thousand dollars, and I did not get compensated for them. Also, your prices are very, very high.
