My current insurance is okay, but the premium payment seems to be creeping upwards. Other than that, nothing negative to report.

It was reasonable and affordable for a senior when I switched to it over 10 years ago. Currently, as a senior with a good driving record, no accidents, and no moving violations, it’s discouraging to find my rates climbing up instead of going down, which I was led to believe they would.

My policy doubled due to a parking issue. I was parallel parking and scraped the car behind me. It was my fault. But doubling my policy payment? I've been a customer for over thirty years. I owed the man behind me honesty, so I left a note on his windshield. However, the hike in my premiums is making it almost unaffordable to keep the car. They have been a good insurance company for the thirty-plus years I have enjoyed their coverage. I trust them. They send a locksmith or a battery jump when needed over the years. Two of my three adult children also use them.

No one has beaten Geico in cost since we have been searching for lower auto insurance. We are seniors and retired, and we do not drive a lot, yet you categorize us as if we do. It's not the same as years ago. We were noticed, but in this day and time, no more. Everything is in the same package with everybody else. Everything is about money, not for the people anymore. But I get it. If you drive, you will pay. Our prices go up, but not our income.

They have been great. The best price I could find, since my first insurance went up to over $100.00. So I looked around until I found GEICO.

I think it is very expensive. I’ve only been in two not-at-fault accidents and my insurance premium has almost doubled. I’ve been with GEICO for over 40 years, and just because I left GEICO briefly for two weeks, when I came back, they said that I only have a three-year history with them. It does not show anything prior to that. Being a loyal customer with zero at-fault claims for 40 years, plus being a veteran and a safe driver, I feel that I deserve more discounts. Right now, it's getting competitive, and other companies are offering better rates. The only reason I’ve stayed with GEICO is because it is the path of least resistance.

I find Geico flawless in communication and prompt service. I had the lowest possible rates from them for many years, exceptionally low, until last year. I had an at-fault accident (so they say), but I beg to differ. But that wasn't for me to decide.

They lied to me when I had an accident and I was deemed 10% at fault. They promised I wouldn’t get a rate hike. That’s true… they dropped me.

Do not buy. They don’t want to help you with a claim. They add their own coverage that is not in the policy. Very hard to get a hold of an adjuster if you need them.

Poor. Quoting me over a thousand a month? No thanks. Went to Progressive instead.

I'm not going to use them again. They raise the price every time I have to renew. It's ridiculous to pay as much as I do for simple liability only.

Geico’s prices are higher than any other insurance despite their advertising of low prices.

Geico used to be a great insurance company that offered the best customer care. Over the last 10 to 15 years, they have become like all companies, greedy and money-hungry. I have been with Geico for over 20 years just for their caring attitude; they outshined most companies. It's not like that anymore. They have become a greedy company with very poor customer care and very high prices, with a 'pay it or lose it' attitude. After all these years, I'm leaving and will give my money to a different company.

Rates just kept going up and up for no reason. Just corporate greed. Progressive is even worse. Dropping Progressive currently. Found insurance for $60 a month less with a lesser-known company.

All was good until my policy lapsed for two or three days because I was in the hospital. Then, all of a sudden, my insurance jumped forty dollars a month, and it has remained there for some time. I feel like I am not getting the discounts that I should be receiving. I have had no tickets or accidents in over five years, yet I'm still paying a very high price for the cheapest insurance I could get. I shop all the time for insurance because I feel that Geico is not offering me the best deal.

I informed them that they had my lot number wrong, and now I have to pay $25 more a month.

Shop around - I had Geico for 30 years and they kept increasing the premiums until they got out of hand. I shopped around and got the lowest rate from Hartford for the whole year, not 6 months, which was what Geico was charging me!

I've heard the longer you stay with a vehicle insurance policy, the more they keep charging you. This seems to be the case with Geico.

When I started with Geico, it was affordable, but my rates keep going up. Over the last 6 months, it's been ridiculous. I don’t think I should be paying so much for just liability, and I'm on a fixed income. I don't know if there are any discounts out there for being disabled and a senior, but that would be so helpful.

I didn't have a discount with them the whole time I was with them. Every year my insurance went up, and when I asked them why, they told me that was their policy.

Huge increase every 6 months, even though I had no claims for 17 years!

Mediocre. I had 4 non-fault accidents, 2 hit-and-run accidents ($500 deductible each, not my fault!), and 2 accidents (100% the other driver's fault, not my fault!), and they raised my insurance cost! 😞 I have been insured with GEICO for almost 10 years. Not happy, but I must keep insured by law!

I got rear-ended and never filed a claim with Geico. The other party was at fault, but Geico increased my policy by $400 for 6 months.

Too expensive for basic coverage.

I would not use Geico again. I had them for over 15 years and they refused to work with me. I went to another reputable insurance company and got my full coverage insurance for half the price.

I am 72 years old. No tickets, no DUI, no accidents, yet my plan is very expensive! I see in the media advertising for $39. I cannot understand what is going on!

$2600 a year is too high. I've only had one accident with this car, and it was a single at-fault incident.

It is very expensive; the Geico Auto help is very good.

I have no online access. I don't receive emails. The policy is way too high for a 2021 car and good driving record. Almost $300!

Geico has been steadily raising our rate, and we have no accidents or tickets. I went to switch to Progressive, who saved me a considerable amount of money, but when my wife got on with Geico to cancel, they said we were on an old system and she could beat Progressive by $100. My wife said yes, and we are paid for the year. I would have happily paid Progressive the extra $100 to get away from Geico.

I’m a senior and I have had a great record. Until 2025, I was in a wreck with no ticket. I was initially told both parties were at fault, but later it was determined to be my fault. I just received a new used 2019 Nissan Armada, and I pay $197.00 a month, which I find ridiculous. Because it is financed, I need to carry full coverage. I don’t feel I have a fair deal.

Very, very hard to work through. We have an antique computer and cannot print PDF files, on and on. Your claim reps were very good. I asked them to send everything through the US mail, which they have so far. We had a very hard time with the safe drivers school as my computer system does not seem up to the needs. Anyway, got through it and hopefully y'all have received a copy. Been with you for 40 years, so we do think well of you.

Make sure you know the final price is the one quoted. Geico nickeled and dimed us after we agreed on a policy fee.

Geico was very good until I was able to get a premium from another insurance company for half the price.

Geico was fine for 22 years! Then my son used my car while visiting from Florida and got in an accident. They covered me just fine, BUT 2 months after the accident, they raised my rate from $130/month to $330/month. I called to discuss and was told I had to prove my son didn’t live with me. I provided his apartment lease, a paystub, a Florida bank account, and a Florida driver's license, but none of it mattered. They would not remove him from my policy. After 22 years with nothing but a few windshield claims, they increased my rate significantly, so I had to switch.

I started paying $168 with GEICO, and now it's $296. I've been with GEICO for over 5 years. Not worth it.

Not great. The price was really too high in the beginning. Now they want to increase it because one person doesn’t use the Drive Easy app, as it’s too hard to stay connected to it.

Unreal how long it took to even get through the process. First, I had to take pictures. For some reason, they don’t send anybody to look at your car anymore. That took a day. Then I had to email everything to some office, and it took four days for that person to get back to me. Another afternoon and the next day to get a Rent-A-Car. Also, it was almost impossible to pick a car. I ended up having to spend 20 extra dollars a day because it was a larger car. Today, the process has taken almost 2 weeks, the car is in a shop, and no one from GEICO has called me for over a week. Really a very bad experience with GEICO. I’ve been a customer for 30 years at least, and I’ve never experienced this lack of care from anyone else.

I wouldn't suggest Geico to anyone. All they've done is increase my insurance rates for no reason.
