I feel like state minimum should be no more than 39 bucks a month, but so far it is the cheapest car insurance I have found. It's a good company.

I use the GEICO app and keep getting messages asking me to install the app. Lately, they’ve been asking me to pay about $7 for something I don’t understand. It’s been impossible to reach a phone agent to ask for an explanation.

I just think they could lower their rates a little.

I have had them for over 2 years, and the car is getting older, but the prices keep going up. I haven't had any accidents in over 40 years. All insurance is sky high.

I have not had any accidents or violations in 50 years, and yet my rates keep going up as my vehicle gets older. I feel like I'm being penalized for all the people who do have accidents and drive poorly. I drive less than 50 miles a month, and I'm paying far more than I need to. I had to drop comprehensive and collision coverage in order to make my rates affordable.

We have always had a very good experience with Geico. In general, their prices were always better than anyone we compared them to, and they offered the coverage we need at what I have always thought was a reasonable price. We have only made a few claims with them, but they have always been very prompt in responding to us and helping us handle the claims.

Great coverage and service, a little pricey.

They're very expensive, but when you have a problem they don't delay. Someone will contact you within hours of a claim being filed if it's during the weekdays. They don't reward their accident-free drivers with a decrease in payments, yet they will raise the price. I've been with them about 12-13 years and they have been easy to work with, just too darn expensive.

Good as long as you only have a car or a half-ton pickup. I unfortunately was part of an insurance scam, and they wanted me to put my farm truck on a commercial policy, tripling my insurance rate. So I had to go with Progressive, or I would still have Geico.

Expensive. I have no accidents, no speeding tickets, I'm a disabled veteran, and I'm over 58 years old. I think my policy should be cheaper than what I'm paying.

I like the GEICO plan. I think they are a bit high in price, but I guess you get what you pay for. I’m glad I have full coverage now. I had no idea I didn’t have full coverage, and when I was in my accident, I was very surprised that the agent I opened my policy with didn’t get me full coverage like I had with my last policy. Live and learn, I guess.

I feel it's good, however, it could be better.

Mostly fine; however, I constantly have to request ID cards that they claim they will automatically send. This gets old quickly.

My policy renewal increased by over $100 for no reason. I haven't gotten a ticket or been in an accident. I have the safe drive app, but there's misinformation when using it. I train drivers, so most of the time I'm not driving when using my phone, and it's too much trouble trying to adjust whether I'm driving or not.

Good on claims.

First, always shop around so when you speak with their rep, you have an idea of the prices at the moment. The reps at Geico are very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. So, once you have an idea of the price range you're looking for, don't be afraid to ask the rep questions and try to get to your desired price if possible.

My current insurance is okay, but the premium payment seems to be creeping upwards. Other than that, nothing negative to report.

It was reasonable and affordable for a senior when I switched to it over 10 years ago. Currently, as a senior with a good driving record, no accidents, and no moving violations, it’s discouraging to find my rates climbing up instead of going down, which I was led to believe they would.

Cheaper than anyone I can find.

They started with a teaser rate, then without cause, raised the rates in excess of other companies. Shameful.

I spent two days trying to get a quote and was quoted three different rates. I was also incorrectly told that I had an accident on my record.

Unable to resolve issues for you on claims or policy. Won't return your calls in a reasonable 24-48 hour period after leaving various messages. When calling to talk to a rep, each one tells you different things and passes you to the next rep.

I've been with this company for over 16 years, and my premiums keep going up as my vehicles keep getting older. One vehicle is over 20 years old, and the other one is over 10 years old. Loyalty doesn't mean a thing. They just want money. I need to find a different company.

Geico increased my rate by $145.00 per month only 5 months after I started the policy. When I finally navigated the AI phone answering application and spoke to a live representative, they simply stated the rate increase is because they can. I dropped Geico after only 5 months. An $870.00 increase is unacceptable.

Geico gradually increases your insurance rates, despite claims.

I dislike Geico car insurance. I tried unsuccessfully to pay them five times, but they ignored me. My car insurance policy letter said my policy was canceled on 3-13-2026. I was trying to renew for the date of 3-10-2026, starting in late February to be ahead of time. Geico canceled my policy, claiming my bank would not pay, but the bank said Geico did not try. Then, on 3-24-2026 at 12:01 AM, a Geico letter said my policy cancellation was reinstated from the previous cancellation date of 3-13-2026. In 10 minutes, I acquired Progressive car insurance. That day, my bank said Geico accepted my payment. Now I have the difficult task of getting my payment back from Geico, who said twice in letters that my car insurance policy was canceled.

They raised my policy from $234 to $372 without any prior notice.

Don't use them as my insurance climbed from $112.00 to $147.00 with no tickets or accidents on my record. I was given ZERO warning that my rates had increased and no explanation as to why.

I have to say that GEICO responds quickly to an accident, but they are way overpriced. I thought if I stayed with them a little longer, the policy price would get better. Little did I know, it doesn’t work like that, and I’m 67 years old. All they worry about is getting their money, so this year I’m pretty sure I’m changing insurance companies. If it means getting rid of my car, at least I won’t have a car payment and I won’t have to worry about renewing insurance.

I would say don't do it! They are increasing my liability and uninsured motorist coverage for a 2005 Nissan Sentra. I'm 57 years old with no tickets or accidents, and yet I'm paying over $170 for not full coverage! It went up! I'm looking for another insurance company.

This company doesn't give me any options. They increase their policies and prices without any explanation to customers.

It's okay, the least expensive of all insurance carriers. But I only drive the car for pleasure, and there are no senior discounts.

I feel like if you have full coverage and your car gets stolen and destroyed to where it's not even drivable, you should definitely get 30 days of rental car coverage, because that's what comes with it. But if they declare it a total loss, they only give you 3 days, which is not enough time to buy anything. And then you cannot buy anything with only four thousand dollars. All the items that were stolen from inside the car equaled about six thousand dollars, and I did not get compensated for them. Also, your prices are very, very high.

I have used Geico since 2006 on and off, and this will be my last time. They are notorious for raising my premium every renewal time. This very month I paid $188.00, and my renewal for March is $244.47—a fifty-six dollar a month increase on a 2022 Chevrolet Trax. I am on a dire fixed income and cannot afford this. I will never use Geico again. I need cheap insurance with full coverage.

Do not buy. They don’t want to help you with a claim. They add their own coverage that is not in the policy. Very hard to get a hold of an adjuster if you need them.

Geico used to be a great insurance company that offered the best customer care. Over the last 10 to 15 years, they have become like all companies, greedy and money-hungry. I have been with Geico for over 20 years just for their caring attitude; they outshined most companies. It's not like that anymore. They have become a greedy company with very poor customer care and very high prices, with a 'pay it or lose it' attitude. After all these years, I'm leaving and will give my money to a different company.

Rates just kept going up and up for no reason. Just corporate greed. Progressive is even worse. Dropping Progressive currently. Found insurance for $60 a month less with a lesser-known company.

I have multiple insurance companies currently. Geico needs better training for their representatives. Don’t tell customers one thing and then tell the consumer the exact opposite from the next representative. All was good until my policy lapsed for two or three days because I was in the hospital. Then, all of a sudden, my insurance jumped forty dollars a month, and it has remained there for some time. Shop around - I had Geico for 30 years and they kept increasing the premiums until they got out of hand. I shopped around and got the lowest rate from Hartford for the whole year, not 6 months, which was what Geico was charging me!

I've heard the longer you stay with a vehicle insurance policy, the more they keep charging you. This seems to be the case with Geico.

Huge increase every 6 months, even though I had no claims for 17 years!

Mediocre. I had 4 non-fault accidents, 2 hit-and-run accidents ($500 deductible each, not my fault!), and 2 accidents (100% the other driver's fault, not my fault!), and they raised my insurance cost! 😞 I have been insured with GEICO for almost 10 years. Not happy, but I must keep insured by law!
