My policy doubled due to a parking issue. I was parallel parking and scraped the car behind me. It was my fault. But doubling my policy payment? I've been a customer for over thirty years. I owed the man behind me honesty, so I left a note on his windshield. However, the hike in my premiums is making it almost unaffordable to keep the car. They have been a good insurance company for the thirty-plus years I have enjoyed their coverage. I trust them. They send a locksmith or a battery jump when needed over the years. I think it is very expensive. Iāve only been in two not-at-fault accidents and my insurance premium has almost doubled. Iāve been with GEICO for over 40 years, and just because I left GEICO briefly for two weeks, when I came back, they said that I only have a three-year history with them. It does not show anything prior to that. Being a loyal customer with zero at-fault claims for 40 years, plus being a veteran and a safe driver, I feel that I deserve more discounts. Right now, it's getting competitive, and other companies are offering better rates. The only reason Iāve stayed with GEICO is because it is the path of least resistance.
