Geico charges for paper bills; they only work through the internet. I would rather pay from an invoice. They charge me $75 for a 6-month policy for state minimum coverage. That is way too expensive for a 20-year-old car. I should have many discounts as a 60-year-old female.

They are overly expensive, and every year without notice, your premium goes up.

I have not had any accidents or violations in 50 years, and yet my rates keep going up as my vehicle gets older. I feel like I'm being penalized for all the people who do have accidents and drive poorly. I drive less than 50 miles a month, and I'm paying far more than I need to. I had to drop comprehensive and collision coverage in order to make my rates affordable.

They're very expensive, but when you have a problem they don't delay. Someone will contact you within hours of a claim being filed if it's during the weekdays. They don't reward their accident-free drivers with a decrease in payments, yet they will raise the price. I've been with them about 12-13 years and they have been easy to work with, just too darn expensive.

Good as long as you only have a car or a half-ton pickup. I unfortunately was part of an insurance scam, and they wanted me to put my farm truck on a commercial policy, tripling my insurance rate. So I had to go with Progressive, or I would still have Geico.

Expensive. I have no accidents, no speeding tickets, I'm a disabled veteran, and I'm over 58 years old. I think my policy should be cheaper than what I'm paying.

It was reasonable and affordable for a senior when I switched to it over 10 years ago. Currently, as a senior with a good driving record, no accidents, and no moving violations, it’s discouraging to find my rates climbing up instead of going down, which I was led to believe they would.

My policy doubled due to a parking issue. I was parallel parking and scraped the car behind me. It was my fault. But doubling my policy payment? I've been a customer for over thirty years. I owed the man behind me honesty, so I left a note on his windshield. However, the hike in my premiums is making it almost unaffordable to keep the car. They have been a good insurance company for the thirty-plus years I have enjoyed their coverage. I trust them. They send a locksmith or a battery jump when needed over the years. Two of my three adult children also use them.

Horrible customer service and no resolution to them understanding my checking account was hacked and they didn't receive the automatic payment where all my accounts were affected and had to change my billing information. Called a few times and got all kinds of conflicting bills. The girl who first helped me was very nice and told me she was reluctant to take a payment over the phone from me. She reported, "I'm afraid that they won't get it right!" This company disrespected my words and chose not to try and understand the truth. I would like to know a supervisor I could talk to even though I will never use them again. They charge three times as much as other agencies, no thanks.

Don't use Geico. They charged me more when I moved to Illinois, then charged me even more when I moved to South Carolina, and charged me more again when I moved back to Tennessee. What's wrong with that picture?

Geico raised my rate to $3,609 a year after being with them for 10 years!

Terrible! I am a 65-year-old woman on disability who had a minor fender bender three years ago. They paid less than $2,000 for a scratch on the other car, and I claimed no damages on my car. They increased my insurance by over $100 a month! What’s the sense of having insurance? I should’ve paid for it out-of-pocket like so many people do.

They don't give discounts to established customers, even though other places give me more than a 50% discount.

My car is 14 years old, and my rate went up 25% for 2026, even though I have no accident claims.

My wife had an accident and the damage was significant but definitely repairable. We were forced to declare the car totaled. It cost me $7,000 out of pocket to get the same car. The people at GEICO handling our claim were very rude and disrespectful. During one conversation, they had my wife crying and so upset she handed the phone to me to finish the conversation. This is the reason we are looking for a new company.

This is my third time having this insurance. I should have learned my lesson the first time I filed a claim with them. The first accident, they said it was both our faults, which I believe was due to both of us having this insurance. The second time, a guy sped past me when I was changing lanes, and they said it was my fault. The last time, I had the right of way when a guy cut off someone behind me while we were turning. Instead of waiting his turn, he continued to cut off the guy behind me and hit me. The police came, but there was no report. I had a passenger, and they said because they were in my car, I couldn’t use them as a witness. The guy he cut off was my witness, but they said since I didn’t get a police report or video, it was his word against mine. This is a horrible company to have insurance with. Please stay away from this company. I have learned my lesson and will never come back.

Unable to resolve issues for you on claims or policy. Won't return your calls in a reasonable 24-48 hour period after leaving various messages. When calling to talk to a rep, each one tells you different things and passes you to the next rep.

I dislike Geico car insurance. I tried unsuccessfully to pay them five times, but they ignored me. My car insurance policy letter said my policy was canceled on 3-13-2026. I was trying to renew for the date of 3-10-2026, starting in late February to be ahead of time. Geico canceled my policy, claiming my bank would not pay, but the bank said Geico did not try. Then, on 3-24-2026 at 12:01 AM, a Geico letter said my policy cancellation was reinstated from the previous cancellation date of 3-13-2026. In 10 minutes, I acquired Progressive car insurance. That day, my bank said Geico accepted my payment. Now I have the difficult task of getting my payment back from Geico, who said twice in letters that my car insurance policy was canceled.

They raised my policy from $234 to $372 without any prior notice.

Don't use them as my insurance climbed from $112.00 to $147.00 with no tickets or accidents on my record. I was given ZERO warning that my rates had increased and no explanation as to why.

I have to say that GEICO responds quickly to an accident, but they are way overpriced. I thought if I stayed with them a little longer, the policy price would get better. Little did I know, it doesn’t work like that, and I’m 67 years old. All they worry about is getting their money, so this year I’m pretty sure I’m changing insurance companies. If it means getting rid of my car, at least I won’t have a car payment and I won’t have to worry about renewing insurance.

This company doesn't give me any options. They increase their policies and prices without any explanation to customers.

I feel like if you have full coverage and your car gets stolen and destroyed to where it's not even drivable, you should definitely get 30 days of rental car coverage, because that's what comes with it. But if they declare it a total loss, they only give you 3 days, which is not enough time to buy anything. And then you cannot buy anything with only four thousand dollars. All the items that were stolen from inside the car equaled about six thousand dollars, and I did not get compensated for them. Also, your prices are very, very high.

I've heard the longer you stay with a vehicle insurance policy, the more they keep charging you. This seems to be the case with Geico.

I didn't have a discount with them the whole time I was with them. Every year my insurance went up, and when I asked them why, they told me that was their policy.

Mediocre. I had 4 non-fault accidents, 2 hit-and-run accidents ($500 deductible each, not my fault!), and 2 accidents (100% the other driver's fault, not my fault!), and they raised my insurance cost! 😞 I have been insured with GEICO for almost 10 years. Not happy, but I must keep insured by law!

Too expensive for basic coverage.

I would not use Geico again. I had them for over 15 years and they refused to work with me. I went to another reputable insurance company and got my full coverage insurance for half the price.

$2600 a year is too high. I've only had one accident with this car, and it was a single at-fault incident.
