I will never recommend Farmers to anyone. As I understand it, they are cancelling services for all California residents. The only guarantee we can get is increased insurance pricing, no matter what carrier we choose. I feel this is an unfair practice.

I found it quite rude that my previous agent, with whom I had been for over 25 years, didn't inform her clients that she was leaving and that there would be a new person. This change was communicated through mail, which I didn't appreciate. I don't like change; I prefer knowing who I'm dealing with. They knew me by name and took great care of me. They didn't charge me late fees for every little thing. I remember once I called to ask if my insurance was paid. I was told yes, only to be charged twice the next month because they told me I had already paid it. You're supposed to trust your insurance agent, right? But now, with late fees and everything else on top of it, it's ridiculous. There's no customer service, it's all business. In my opinion, that's not how you retain clients. So, I may be looking for another insurance agent. Have a good day.

They claimed they were withdrawing from California, but in reality, they are simply shedding Metlife customers who are paying less than their current customers. This action has cost us several hundred dollars per year when Farmers cancelled all our policies. Additionally, they refused to adjust my accident to less than fully at fault, even though the truck I hit was illegally parked on the street. This is costing me hundreds of dollars per year!

My vehicle was declared a total loss by my insurance company. They initially offered me $1400 for my van, which was not nearly enough. I was referred to Justin at The Body Shop Appraiser and he was able to negotiate my insurance company up to $6800 for my van. Now, I will be able to find another vehicle. With $1400, I wouldn't have been able to. I highly recommend The Body Shop Appraiser if you have a total loss. The insurance company seemed to be taking advantage and oppressing people. Even after agreeing to the increased amount, they wanted to deduct costs like storage and towing. This company doesn't even deserve a single star. It makes me wonder what the insurance board is doing about such companies. You can draw your own conclusions based on my experience.

The experience with the agent was excellent, but the rates are terrible. I am 91 years old and I've never had a ticket for speeding or drunk driving. The only claim I ever had was when a deer ran into me in Minnesota. In Minnesota, that is not considered a chargeable accident against the driver. Currently, your rates are so high. Almost $200 a month is too much considering my good record and minimal driving. I have tried everything I can think of to find something cheaper. The office staff is great and I hate to leave them, but I have to find something more affordable. If I had a bad record, that $200 amount per month would be acceptable.
