I wish I could get them again.

Over 40 years, there have been ups and downs. The customer service, office staff, and agent have been mostly great. Some of the adjusters have not been great, but if I had a problem, I contacted my agent and he straightened it out. An extremely tight budget forced me to compare other options.

Farmers is great, but it's just too expensive for me.

Everything is pretty much good with Farmers, but we Americans cannot afford our auto and home insurance going up $176 in a six-month period. Everything from insurance to groceries just keeps going up in prices. A good driver shouldn't have to experience that.

I've been with Farmers for many years. The customer service has a lot that needs improvement. The customer service representatives do not listen well, nor do they provide correct information. I asked for the percentage of discount on my policy from taking the AARP drivers course, and they were not able to tell me. They said it would take 7 days to get this information. They changed my agent without notifying me. The rates increased every 6 months despite having zero at-fault claims. Also, the deductibles switched to percentages instead of a fixed amount.

The agent does not represent the insured. They have to go to the insurance company and they don't work for the insured. That's it.

I've been insured with them for a long time. They decided not to renew my policy, forcing me to start a new one, which cost more money. I find this unfair considering the high cost of car insurance these days. I had my policy for 6 months, and when it came due, they said they weren't renewing it because I didn't send paperwork back to them. However, I never received any paperwork, though I did receive all other mail from them. I was then told they were no longer insuring people in California, which I find unjust as I've never had to file a claim with my car insurance. After all the years I was with them, I think it's not fair to customers who pay for insurance and can't keep it. I'm very disappointed and would never recommend them to anyone.

After more than 20 years as a loyal customer, they discontinued my home coverage simply because I reside in Paradise, CA, even though my house survived the Camp Fire.

The service was great until there was a real need. Communication was very lacking. When a semi drove into the rear of our parked car, the claims handling was very poor. Our agent responded to me, but not to my husband. When our home flooded, getting questions answered was nearly impossible. No one has contacted me. The rates keep increasing and I'm not sure why. No one has called to explain why this is happening. I'm wondering if it's still a good rate. I'm paying $4k for cars. One is a 17-year-old car that does about 2000 miles per year, one is used only for errands as I have a company vehicle and will be used for about 3-4000 miles per year. The third is about 20k per year.

Despite having zero claims in the over two years I've been with Foremost, a division of Farmers Insurance, they raised my yearly rate by $850.00. So, I went shopping and found much more coverage for a lot less money!

They are not providing coverage for an accident that they are charging me for.

Despite having no accidents or claims in eighteen years, this company constantly raises the rates for no apparent reason and won't even cover a tow for more than two blocks. I could go on about how dissatisfied I am, but instead, I'll just look for insurance elsewhere.
