Everything is pretty much good with Farmers, but we Americans cannot afford our auto and home insurance going up $176 in a six-month period. Everything from insurance to groceries just keeps going up in prices. A good driver shouldn't have to experience that.

I've been with Farmers for many years. The customer service has a lot that needs improvement. The customer service representatives do not listen well, nor do they provide correct information. I asked for the percentage of discount on my policy from taking the AARP drivers course, and they were not able to tell me. They said it would take 7 days to get this information. The agent does not represent the insured. They have to go to the insurance company and they don't work for the insured. That's it.

I've been insured with them for a long time. They decided not to renew my policy, forcing me to start a new one, which cost more money. I find this unfair considering the high cost of car insurance these days. I had my policy for 6 months, and when it came due, they said they weren't renewing it because I didn't send paperwork back to them. However, I never received any paperwork, though I did receive all other mail from them. I was then told they were no longer insuring people in California, which I find unjust as I've never had to file a claim with my car insurance. Despite having zero claims in the over two years I've been with Foremost, a division of Farmers Insurance, they raised my yearly rate by $850.00. So, I went shopping and found much more coverage for a lot less money!

They are not providing coverage for an accident that they are charging me for.
