I called to have a copy of my current policy sent to a new auto lender, and it was handled very professionally.

Their prices have become unreachable, and the service at the office I use has declined significantly. The office personnel don't speak English very well, so I rarely contact them for anything.

When you have a claim, it should be paid according to the cost to repair the damage. No BS. Claim adjusters are not there to assist you; they're there to scam you out of money for the actual repair cost.

Okay. It helps if you know something about insurance; that way, you can get the full explanation. Ask plenty of questions so you can know exactly what your policy covers and how you will be billed.

I’ve been with Allstate since 2001 and my experience has always been great. Very fair insurance company for both home and auto.

I think they have good customer service, and they seem to process claims quickly, but they are getting too expensive and they didn't fight for coverage when my husband got hit by an uninsured driver.

I am not sure I would recommend Allstate to anyone at this time. Although their bundles are still better than those offered by many of their competitors, they raise their auto premiums by huge margins every premium cycle under the guise that there are a lot of claims filed by drivers in Georgia. Although that is true, it does not justify the 30% to 35% premium increases I have seen in the last year alone. I suspect the four accidents I have had since March 21, 2024. Although I was absolved of fault by the police reports in as many as three of them, my six-monthly premiums jumped from $870 before March 21, 2024, to $1,395 in the most recent renewal. That is a whopping 60% increase in a single year!

I never had to file a claim, so I don't know how that works. However, I have needed to make late payments, and my guy Lyle is awesome and very understanding. The one thing that is confusing is the safe driver's discount. My first month, I saved like $166, and it was applied to my bill, which I love. Then, like 3 months went by with no savings, and I know I didn't change my driving habits. Then another time, I saved over $100. But otherwise, it's a great company. They actually email back the same day or the next day.

Great company. Easy to do business with. They love your premiums. Once you become a number with any insurance company, you're part of their revenue stream. Which is to say you're there for no other reason than to generate revenue. NOT MAKE A CLAIM: GOD FORBID YOUR WINDSHIELD CRACKS... They will hold that against you and want/take every cent back, and guess what? After they get the money back, they will keep your rates nice and high so they get even more money from you. Insurance is the biggest SCAM going, and politicians allow them to reach into our pockets and reap enormous rewards in profits. Other than that, Allstate is a fine company.

Always be ready to switch providers since they increase rates for no given reason other than "market conditions."

There was zero interaction from the agent after she took over my policy. She never looked for discounts and always answered with, "My insurance went up also," or "At least it didn’t increase this year." When I rated her service with Allstate Surveys, she replied negatively and suggested I look for another agent. I’m now looking for another agent.

The owner, Josh, is very nice. He spends enough time with me every time we talk, and he's always concerned, which is nice. But the original price when I transferred to him six months ago was $138. Allstate stepped in to represent me against State Farm, the insurer of the individual who demolished my vehicle by rear-ending me. I lost approximately $3,500 on the value of my car, which I needed to replace it with one in the same condition.

Shop around really well when you go to cancel. Your agent will not take your call. I had to call, send texts, and send a letter just to cancel.

The first 6 months my premium was raised twice. Every time I renewed, they raised it. That's why I left Allstate.

My agent was nice, but other than that, I found out I couldn’t pay my policy with a money order. I no longer had a bank card or credit card, so that was the only means I could pay for my insurance. They didn’t accept the money order. A lady from Allstate told me to get somebody to pay it with their card, and I could give them the money order. I told her I don’t have the means to do all that extra stuff. Either they take the payment, or we just go to court. That’s what I told her. I’m a single parent, and I live paycheck to paycheck.

Regardless of how long or how many times you have been with Allstate, they're all about themselves. I thought as I got older and drove less, my insurance would go down, but that's not the case.

My renewal notice reported fictitious estimated miles driven per year. They claim this is based on information from oil changes and registration. The numbers were completely wrong, so I have to send pictures of my mileage from my vehicles. Now I have to wait seven days for them to correct it.

I would shop around for a lower rate. Allstate is very expensive.

I didn’t receive notifications when my policy lapsed. I had my policy on auto-pay through a credit card. The card expired, and I didn’t know until I checked my credit card website to pay the bill. If the agency had been open the day I caught it, I could have saved my policy. The woman I spoke to was very rude. Moral of the story: no auto-pay for me. I’ll stick to the good old days and speak to a human. GEICO was a better and cheaper company than Allstate; I should have never switched. I realize it was my fault for the lapse, but I am 46 years old, and it was the first time I ever let a policy lapse. I work 12-16 hour days, and my kids are in all sorts of sports, so I am busy on my days off. Notifications help. Allstate isn’t very good with reminders. I paid more with Allstate than with GEICO, but at least GEICO sends a reminder via text when your policy is due and when it will be taken out.

Review the written policy thoroughly and be aware of policy updates that may reduce your coverage.

I would tell them to try to qualify for all discounts available. I would also tell them that no matter how good your driving record is, All-State will find a way to raise your premiums.

Britton Bertram, who heads up Allstate, refuses to return phone calls and emails. Also, he took away my direct withdrawal discount because a payment was missed through no fault of my own. They also raised my rates because of two accidents where I was hit from behind and a hit and run.

I have a 9-year-old car, and the insurance seems very expensive for an 85-year-old man. It's over $1600 for a year.

Very high priced. No tickets, no accidents, senior citizen with homeowners insurance. Extremely overpriced.

Rates start low, then they raise them 20-25% each year after.

It was okay in the beginning. For the first 6 months, I started at $86 a month, then it went up to $106, and now it's going up to $120. I have not had any accidents or tickets, and I'm just told that prices are going up everywhere.

Not the same Allstate. They will increase your bill every 3 months and won't even change your payment date so that you will not be late.

The service is okay but expensive. I wish they would write car policies for 12 months and also take into consideration the driving habits of the vehicle owners, as I really don’t drive that much.

Raising my fee by $60 a month with no explanation is not acceptable.

I was notified through mail after the renewal date, and they withdrew over $1,000, saying they couldn't do anything to help. There was no help on a comprehensive claim. I had to go into the office myself because my claim was closed out as completed. Their recommended shop didn't order my parts and forgot about me. I paid for coverages, including glass, and they didn't cover the approved items. They paid my claim out for a little over half of the actual damages.

With Allstate for over 20 years, never had a big claim. Only two minor fender benders. No medical, no property damage, no DUI, no tickets. And my rates still went up with no mercy.

I had a good agent until he moved on to another company. The new agent doesn't seem interested in helping you save money or in retaining you as a customer.

They take advantage of the situation and do not work with the client. The road service is horrific. They damaged my truck and gave me the runaround for 2 weeks. Then, they told me to email them. Wow.
