In essence, Nationwide is just like any other insurance company. There have been instances where they've been dishonest, just like any other company might be. The unfortunate reality of company ratings is that they're often based on a small number of experiences. It's disappointing when these experiences are manipulated by external forces like the government or the DMV. In my case, the DMV changed an accident report a year after the courts ruled it as no fault, which has significantly impacted my life. I've been charged thousands of dollars and have had to give up many of my possessions. I've also lost my driving license and have been told by the DMV that I must maintain SR22 non-owners insurance. Nationwide has decided to drop me due to an incident from 2015 that only recently appeared on the DMV's records. This has been a very challenging experience for me, and I hope my review can help others.

I have been a Nationwide client for my cars, boats, and homes since 1973. Recently, I received a notice that the company is dropping us this fall for no apparent reason; no claims, always paid on time, 5-year-old metal roof, etc. Upset, I decided to drop my other policies as well. I was shocked to discover that for the exact same coverage, Nationwide has been charging us more than double! Despite their great service, and despite having recommended them to many other people, I obviously switched to Progressive. It seems that loyalty means nothing to Nationwide!
