I really like Liberty Mutual as a company and what they stand for. However, I can't understand why my rates have doubled in the past year and a half I've been with them. In the first year, my rates were locked in and I participated in the safe driving discount program, which is a great program. But it wasn't made clear that after the first year, those rates are not binding and no longer count unless you sign up again, and you aren't guaranteed the same discount. The only reason I've been given for the increase is that the state laws where I live have increased. But doubling seems excessive. I give 4 stars because I can't afford for my rates to increase anymore. I haven't done anything wrong - no tickets, no claims, no accidents. Nothing! And I'm 39! I guess when I hit the big 4-0, they will go down 10 bucks and I'm expected to be happy with that. I think I'll shop around.

I have not had any experience with Liberty except to make payments. The payments on the renewal notice are way too high.

I have no tickets, live in a remote desert, have no tickets, and yet my rate has gone up 3x in 18 months. It's a ridiculous amount.

Beware, they can be difficult if you have to file a claim. They may also increase your rates significantly, and you may have to continuously ask for supervisors to get any sort of help.

They canceled my policy without any reason other than my residence being in California. I am disappointed with the company and I will not use their services again.

They raised my insurance because of other drivers where I live.

They increased my policy amount twice without any prior notice or explanation. It went from $399 to $522! This is for one driver and one vehicle.

We had a leak in the bathroom. It took an entire month for them to pay for the damages. They kept sending out four or five people to appraise, about one per week. Such unprofessional service is crazy!

They misled me at every turn. The representative said that my rates would go down the following October, but when the time came, they told me they don't change rates in the middle of the year. Then when we reached the end of the year, they told me that my rate went up by 40%. They promised me a bundle discount of 700 dollars between the two policies. Then they said since my house was a prefabricated home, they insured me through one of their affiliates and told me my policies did not qualify for the discount.

Liberty Mutual based my large increase on demographics, not on my personal driving record or history with them. This is not fair to me or anyone else.

They are very rude. They don't value customers who have been with them for a long period of time, and their rates are extremely high. They speak to customers disrespectfully and make you feel unvalued and unappreciated. This is why after 10 plus years I'm leaving. I'm truly disgusted and disappointed. I will never recommend them to anyone.

They classified me as a loyal customer for a couple of years, but then, out of the blue, they raised my insurance by 25 dollars a month. I have had no accidents or anything. Also, I downloaded the app for the discount, but it says I do not qualify for that discount. Their commercials always claimed their prices would never increase. This turned out to be false advertising, and they subsequently removed those commercials. They justified the price increase by citing inflation, but I don't believe we should have to pay for what other people do. I'm not convinced by their inflation argument.

A rental car is provided when needed.
