Use Caution with Liberty Mutual
Everything was great until they cancelled my policy in the middle of its term because I'm in Texas rejuvenating my business, despite being a resident of Arizona. Now, I have significantly less coverage with another insurance company, and I'm paying the same amount that I was paying Liberty for a policy that I had with them for several years. I'm very disappointed in them.

Lack of Complete Satisfaction with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company
They offer a really good rate in the beginning, but then your rates increase substantially each year. This happens even though you don't have any tickets, accidents, or claims, and haven't had any of those in over 30-40 years. Plus, you drive less than 2500 miles per year. Given my outstanding clean driving record and the small number of miles I drive per year, I feel that my rates have increased too much since I first purchased my policy with them in 2020-2021.

I would not recommend this insurance. They charge excessively and their coverage is inadequate. I have been a customer for over 20 years and the only time I encountered a problem (when water pipes broke due to extreme cold), they covered less than a quarter of my expenses. I was left with water damage, six damaged walls, and holes that I couldn't afford to repair. My brother experienced similar damage to his house, but his insurance covered his entire expense plus an additional $4,000 for water and wall damage. Unlike him, I did not receive adequate coverage for my expenses or the necessary repairs.

I had a horrible experience. I noticed my payment jumped from $90 to $160 and called to ask why, as nothing had changed with my driving - no speeding tickets or accidents, etc. They said it was due to the new year and the economy that my price had risen a whole $70! Then they re-quoted me and it was even higher. Customer service doesn't have much knowledge of what they're doing and they don't really care if they lose you as a client. They didn't make me feel important at all.

I was involved in an accident where the other driver ran a red light. My car was declared a total loss and I sustained injuries. The other driver was insured by Liberty Mutual. After I filed a lawsuit against the driver and Liberty Mutual, my monthly insurance premium increased from $131 to $210. It doesn't make sense that my monthly price increased because Liberty Mutual paid out the value of my car and due to the lawsuit against the driver and his insurance.

I would advise against choosing Liberty Mutual due to their high prices. I was paying $125 a month. However, after shopping around, I found another provider where I am now only paying $65 a month. I calculated that I overpaid by $60 a month for 12 months, which amounts to $720 a year. I was with them for 6 years, so in total, I overpaid by $4,320. Therefore, I strongly recommend shopping around unless you have $4,320 to spare.
