My Thoughts
I appreciate Liberty, but I struggle to reach a real person to answer my questions and explain the insurance details I don't understand. I've completed the AARP Driving Course online and, unfortunately, my husband has passed away. I'm hoping Liberty will offer me a favorable renewal rate for 2025. I have good credit, no tickets or accidents. I'm only seeking the basic Florida required coverage for my car, and perhaps even a senior citizen discount. Thank you.

I've never had an issue. I'm always looking to lower my monthly payments because I'm on a fixed income. That's why I've been considering Liberty Mutual; they calculate premiums for 12 months, not 6. This way, I know what my cost is for the year and I don't have to worry about it changing every six months.

Customer Service Experience
The experience of reaching out was the worst ever. It took me almost an hour to actually speak to a person. The chat on the app was absolutely ridiculously unhelpful. However, when I did finally reach a person to talk to, she was wonderful. She was patient and took very good care of me. Her name was Nanoya. She was clear and understandable, and she did her best for my current needs. She also calmed me down as I was so frustrated after 40 minutes of trying to reach someone. Again, Nanoya was amazing.

Liberty Advertises Flexibility, but
Liberty Mutual advertises flexibility, but I found other companies to be better. For instance, Liberty Mutual insisted on a 1% threshold for wind damage, whereas Allstate offered me a fixed deductible that was less than half as high. Additionally, my Allstate car/home premium is about half as much as what Liberty was charging. I had a pleasant agent with Liberty, but I also like my new Allstate agent, and I'm saving over $600 a month. My house recently appraised for $550,000. Despite my objections, Liberty required a $1,350,000 replacement value, while Allstate allowed $835,000. I had a wind loss of about $10,000. Even after having the policy for 20 years, Liberty paid nothing due to the 1% threshold ($13,500). Under my new policy, Allstate would have paid $5000. With double the cost, unreasonable home valuation, excessive wind loss deductible, and no payment on the only loss I ever had, I finally decided to switch. Consumer Reports also gave Liberty a low rating.

My experience has been horrible and I'm now looking for cheaper insurance. I was told at one point that the reason my insurance went up was because of Covid. I fail to understand what that has to do with car insurance. Another time, I was told that my car wasn't kept in the garage, which is untrue. I've been very disappointed with the entire experience, especially considering your advertisements that claim 'you get what you pay for'. Despite never having to use my insurance, my rates keep going up. I'm on a limited income and these constant insurance raises are hard to handle.
