I've never had an issue. I'm always looking to lower my monthly payments because I'm on a fixed income. That's why I've been considering Liberty Mutual; they calculate premiums for 12 months, not 6. This way, I know what my cost is for the year and I don't have to worry about it changing every six months.

It's almost impossible to navigate through their automated system in order to talk to someone when you have any questions. It's very time consuming and frustrating!

The experience of reaching out was the worst ever. It took me almost an hour to actually speak to a person. The chat on the app was absolutely ridiculously unhelpful. However, when I did finally reach a person to talk to, she was wonderful. She was patient and took very good care of me. Her name was Nanoya. She was clear and understandable, and she did her best for my current needs. She also calmed me down as I was so frustrated after 40 minutes of trying to reach someone. Again, Nanoya was amazing.

They are expensive. We are low mileage drivers with three cars, and only my wife and I are driving.

Initially, the prices were great. They promised that with each accident-free and ticket-free year, my insurance rates would decrease. However, with every renewal, they've gone up. When I questioned this, they simply said that insurance rates had increased.

Liberty Mutual personnel are user-friendly and patient whenever I talk to them. However, I dislike the practice of sending letters stating that they use a third party to monitor the number of miles I drive to determine the rate increase. Who is this anonymous third party that secretly monitors the number of miles I drive? It seems devious.

For instance, Liberty Mutual insisted on a 1% threshold for wind damage, whereas Allstate offered me a fixed deductible that was less than half as high. Additionally, my Allstate car/home premium is about half as much as what Liberty was charging. I had a pleasant agent with Liberty, but I also like my new Allstate agent, and I'm saving over $600 a month. My house recently appraised for $550,000. Despite my objections, Liberty required a $1,350,000 replacement value, while Allstate allowed $835,000. I had a wind loss of about $10,000. Even after having the policy for 20 years, Liberty paid nothing due to the 1% threshold ($13,500). Under my new policy, Allstate would have paid $5000. With double the cost, unreasonable home valuation, excessive wind loss deductible, and no payment on the only loss I ever had, I finally decided to switch. Consumer Reports also gave Liberty a low rating.

It took a long time to reach a real person on the phone, and I received different information over the course of four different phone calls when I tried to get a binder for a new car. This prompted me to change my car insurance. Progressive's rates were significantly better, and they answered with real people much quicker when I called.

I filed a claim for a robbery and was given inaccurate critical information on the amount of time I had to file a claim. The claim was reassigned to four different adjusters. Approximately $10k in property was stolen. I had $35k in replacement coverage and received only $1.7k.

I was accused of hitting a car, but no claim was filed and no damage was done. I initiated a new claim because I thought the accuser was going to. However, I did not hit his car and tried to figure out how I was accused. There was no dent, no claim on the accuser's part because nothing happened. Despite this, Liberty Mutual stated that I hit a car, which I did not, and raised my insurance, tarnishing my perfect driving record. I was never informed about my insurance increase and had I been, I would never have renewed it. Liberty Mutual took money out of my bank without authorization. I have filed a claim with the state. I am not satisfied with Liberty Mutual.

There's no appreciation for returning customers. The price is constantly increasing despite having no claims. If the rates go up in the next six months, which I believe they will, I'll switch.

They don't give you any discounts.

Steer clear of this company. They continue to raise rates regardless of how safe a driver you are.
