Reasonable rates.

Great prices and affordable.

It's all about coverage vs. cost. Just like their parent company says, "only pay for what you need." I've had my policy for only 14 months, and in that time, my premium has only gone up 6% from my initial quote. Not too bad.

It's hard to say much since I haven't had a claim in years! Car insurance is way too high when you haven't had a claim in over 15 years!

I'm comfortable with the insurance policy.

Make sure they lock in the rate they quote you. Mine was quoted at $775.00, and the next day it was $1,350.00 when I called to buy insurance. If I had not already canceled my old policy, I would not have purchased it, as it was a total false claim to quote $775.00. Their online quote was $285.00, which is why I called an agent!

I haven't had to use it yet and hope I don't have to, but I'm always shopping for cheaper options.

Liberty Insurance Auto Insurance is much more expensive than most others.

Overall, I am satisfied with Liberty Mutual's customer service. I am extremely satisfied that the pricing was lower than others. However, I am not 100% satisfied with the payment information given over the phone, which was incorrect and caused an additional amount to be added to my original balance. This was not my fault, but completely the fault of the customer service representative who gave me incorrect information. This cost me time, money, embarrassment, and unfairness due to her negligence and incorrect information, after assuring me more than once, despite my doubts, that my payment was indeed processed and would not be returned for insufficient funds.

My agent at LIBERTY MUTUAL was very good to work with! The only issue I had was the pricing compared to other companies was not quite as strong as I’d hoped it would be, but the level of service made me stay with them for quite a few years. My agent in the Dallas Fort Worth area was amazing! They were very responsive and always available when I needed any kind of assistance at all. I truly consider them a friend.

Liberty Mutual has handled all claims that we have made quickly and fairly. However, Liberty Mutual is pulling most of their policies out of California. They have dropped our personal liability policy and our auto policies. My son was not able to get an auto policy with Liberty Mutual when he purchased a car last year.

I'd tell them they increase rates whenever they want to, regardless of how safe a driver you are.

So far, so good. I haven’t found another quote to beat them. So I’m going to say they are the best deal out there at the moment.

Their customer service is excellent. They resolve claims quickly. However, their roadside service leaves much to be desired. Unfortunately, I found this out too late. They only provide assistance for mechanical breakdowns, which does not include flat tires. After filing one claim with them after three years (or possibly more), my rate increased significantly.

The customer service is good and they respond well to calls or needs. However, the rates have significantly increased, causing us to shop around to see what equal coverage would be with other carriers. If the rates were lower and hadn't increased so much without many claims, we wouldn't need to shop around.

Get insurance where you can decide how much coverage you want. I have two cars: an 11-year-old car and a 2023 model. I wanted minimum coverage for the 11-year-old car and full coverage for the 2023. But Liberty did not let me decide for my 11-year-old car. They had their rules set for their benefit.

It's too expensive, and policies should be reviewed annually to find lower rates that benefit the customer!

I was very disappointed in Liberty Mutual last year. They repeatedly added my son to my policy, which raised my rates. I went through the proper paperwork to have him removed and was always told it wouldn’t happen again. It happened five times. The last time, I was told that to remove him, they would need to rewrite my policy, which would raise my rates as I had been grandfathered into my existing rate. This is why I canceled.

Do not insure with Liberty. They constantly change your rates even though you don’t change the coverage. If you have a claim, they don’t want to pay you. They tell you to get whatever tools you need and fix the product yourself. I’m 70 years old and have multiple sclerosis. My claim adjuster told me to go get some tools and fix the air conditioner myself. When I told him how old I was and that I had multiple sclerosis, he said I better hurry up and get it done because it was summertime and very hot. I had an eight-month-old roof that had hail damage and needed to be completely replaced, as well as guttering and an air conditioner, among other items. They wanted to give me $3,800. It took me five months and hundreds of hours of texting and phone calls. I finally had to call the Oklahoma insurance commission and get them involved, as well as the district attorney’s office. I did end up with a little more money, about $5,000, but I had to get a relative to come and put the roof on because the amount of money didn’t even cover all the materials I needed. Before I got the insurance commission involved, my adjuster told me they were through with me, and when I would call, my phone number would route to an answering machine that said to text this number. I would text, and nobody would call me back. It was a nightmare and so stressful. I wasn’t even sure I was going to make it through it, but I did, and now I’m shopping for new insurance.

Too expensive for retired people.

While Liberty saved me a lot initially, after a year of being with them, the homeowners rate was great. Auto, on the other hand, was more expensive than what I just changed to. Apples to apples. Shop.

Liberty Mutual used to be a good company. But since the pandemic, that has changed dramatically. There are no more agents or local outlets to visit. Websites are the only way to interact, and they won't do what is actually needed. Prices are increased every year needlessly, no matter what. I'm pretty tired of them and gave up being a customer after 43 years with them.

I have been a customer for over 5 years. In that time, my premiums have increased by 50% with no claims, accidents, tickets, or other negative events. When I inquired about the increase, they said they did so "because they could." I'm currently seeking a more reputable provider.

I was way overcharged for the minimum, and it was about to be raised again. $135.00 a month for a 20-year-old vehicle with no accidents or tickets is ridiculous.

Very poor communication. Everything is done online. No agent to sit down and talk with. Everyone you do talk to gives you different information. In order to get a discount, you have to sign up for them to track your mileage for 90 days, and they can change your premiums. Would not suggest them to anyone.

My policy renewal is in May. I took off my one vehicle in August and put the same vehicle back on in November. Oliva told me inflation caused them to raise my policy from $381 in July up to $410 in November. Same vehicle, nothing changed. Liberty Mutual/Safeco.

Try someone else. The quote went from $203 for 6 months to $913. I changed from a 2007 Solstice to a 2012 Jeep Liberty, so they must not like Jeeps.

Don't have any accidents, no matter how minor. They cave under the slightest threat from ambulance chasers, settle without questions, and then increase your rates.

When my husband passed away last December, I called Liberty Mutual to inform them. The agent was curt and told me I would save $58.

I asked for my old policy to be canceled effective yesterday, 10/20/25, due to a new Liberty Mutual policy now in force. Changes were made and reflected in the new auto policy to account for reduced mileage due to less driving as a result of recent retirement. I am awaiting a response regarding the cancellation of the old policy and the credit due to me. I notified Liberty Mutual this week via email on their website.

Shop around as Liberty Mutual is expensive, even after being a customer for several years.

Look elsewhere; they give you high deductibles and you still pay twice as much.

In the beginning, Liberty Mutual was a good company, but in the last few years, when I had my first claim, they have been very difficult to deal with and not supportive during disasters that you have not caused.

The premium was raised to just under $300 a month for a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica. I'm not happy at this moment.

You cannot reach a representative from any number listed for Liberty Mutual Auto Insurance. This company increases the premium every few months! I started with a $41 premium and it is now $59. I cannot afford this on a limited income and cannot reach anyone to cancel it. It's the worst experience ever. Do not recommend at all, ever!

Many years of coverage, 28-year-old car, no tickets, 1 claim for back impact, 90-year-old driver, 900-1200 miles per year, and they shopped me to another insurer who added $700 to my "new" policy. That was Liberty Mutual.

I have been with Liberty Mutual for over 12 years, but the prices just keep going up! I tried to work with customer service to lower the cost, but the representative didn’t provide any help, so it's time to move on.

They overcharge and add people to your policy if they name a person at the address you live, even if they stayed there before.

I think the premiums are a little high. I have paper billing and want to keep paper billing, but invoices are sent seemingly late to get payment back by the due date. I have requested a different due date, etc., without resolving this dilemma.
