About two weeks ago, I was overcharged by an agent. On January 7th, the same company gave me a quote that was $200 less per month. I then signed up with a different company that offered a policy for about $350 less per month than my policy with The General. Therefore, I cancelled my policy with The General immediately on January 6th. I didn't want to deal with an agent who was not honest at all.

The quote is too high. I'm being held accountable for accidents that were not my fault and other factors that have already fallen off my license. I'm not a fan of The General, but I can't find any better deals. I don't understand where they get their information, but they're blaming me for three accidents when I was only at fault for one. That's incorrect. I've only had one at-fault accident. The other tickets have fallen off my license, so your policy needs to change. It's unfair to consider incidents that are no longer on my license. I'm an excellent driver and shouldn't be penalized for things that happened right after I got my license. I've had my license for 4 years now. Insurance companies should only be allowed to go back 3 years because the points only stay on your license for 3 years. After that, it's none of their business. I strongly believe I'm right about this. If you disagree, then your policy needs to change to be fair to everyone. If you can't see it on the points, then you have no right to see it. You shouldn't be going back five and six years. Change your policy because it's unfair. I've never had a DUI, I've never gotten a speeding ticket, and you're holding things against me that are not my fault. I've only ever had one at-fault accident. There needs to be a way for those other accidents to fall off my record because I'm not at fault.

I gave them a single star for the same reason as last time - communication. Despite sending them the requested information several times, they never adjusted my rate back to my original premium as they promised. They also failed to respond to my emails and messages.

I was quoted a price and I have consistently paid more than the quote. I was asked to email some documents, which I did, but they claimed they didn't receive them. It was only after the third attempt that they acknowledged receipt, but the price only went down by $10, whereas it should have been $30. Now, they're asking for proof of prior insurance. I had sent that along with the first batch of documents, but they didn't mention it when discussing the documents. They only brought it up after receiving the documents.

If there was a way to give no stars, I would. I have never had so much trouble. I feel scammed by The General. They are unprofessional and dishonest.

I made arrangements to pay my policy a few days after the due date when I received my check. However, they notified Florida that it wasn't paid and my boyfriend's license was suspended. Now, we have to pay a fee.

The customer service was very poor. The underwriting added a driver that I did not approve of, and they wouldn't remove them from the insurance even after I moved.

I've had no personal contact since the inception of my policy. I've been paying way too much for my coverage, $221.25 monthly. Now, I've managed to save more than $100.00 monthly! Insurance is an intangible factor in life. You can't touch it, you can't smell it, so why does it hurt so much? You could say I just took a large pain pill.

I had a scrape in a parking lot, no police were involved, but I was still dinged 3 points even though I was not at fault.

The rates are too high for all the coverage I have. Even though my insurance hasn't been cancelled for a long time with them, they keep sending papers to the Department of Transportation, claiming that I have no coverage when I actually do. This causes the Department of Transportation to send me letters, asking me to send in my car tags.

There's no grace period on payment. They charge a late fee if you're even one minute late on the due date, even when it's not your fault. To change the due date, the policy has to be redone. If you're on disability and get paid on the first, you're always going to be late and thus pay an extra $15 to $25 late fee. To me, this is a very unreasonable and unfair practice that shows they really don't care about their customers, they just want the money.

The customer service is horrible. You have to wait on the phone for an hour and a half and be transferred five different times just to make a change to your policy. If I could give zero stars, I would.

They are not fair with their pricing. I'm 80 years old, have never been in an accident, nor have I ever received a ticket. I drive less than 3000 miles in a year, and they charge me $191 per month. It's a ripoff. I feel like I'm just giving away money. I will never use them again. I could have saved so much money without this insurance.

I have been a loyal customer, but after a minor accident two years ago, my monthly rate increased by $90. I am now looking for a better insurance option.
