It costs more than it should.

I am frustrated with not being able to talk to a person. It's also annoying to fill out all my information, only to have to do it again and again. I don't appreciate being bombarded with calls just because I'm considering insurance. It feels like false advertising about premium rates. I'm ready to just give up.

They are very nice people who like to help others.

I'm unhappy and feeling cheated. They denied a claim for no coverage on the date of loss, yet I was covered and confirmed this with their own customer service.

We had an accident, and no claim adjuster ever showed up or took our situation seriously. After literally a month of dealing with inconsistency and no contact with our original adjuster, our claim was closed with no discretion, and we were only paid $972 on a $3,100 appraisal for the accident. They did nothing to fight the fact that we were not at fault and simply allowed the other company the right to claim innocence when clearly the semi driver clipped our Tahoe in a turning lane exchange.

There is no flexibility in payment plans, and your policy will keep getting more expensive little by little, even if you are a driver with no problems whatsoever.

I paid $220 down, and my first payment was going to be due 2 weeks later. I called back and was finally able to get someone to combine my policies if I paid another $220 down payment, and my monthly payments would go up $80 more than I was paying for the two separate policies added together. I canceled my policies that day, and they kept the original down payment from the day before. So, 1 day of liability insurance cost me $220. I went with someone different, and my policy for both said vehicles costs less than half of what I was paying with The General.

You're farmed off to another insurance company. The rates are high and not even close to what you were quoted.

They're crooks. I was paying $150.00, then in the new year, it became $184.00. By February, they raised it to $252.00. I have a clean driving record with no accidents or tickets in 35 years. They put a claim or something on LexisNexis Risk Solutions Inc., so I can't get another insurance company. I was quoted $142.00 by Progressive.

They take over a month for the claims adjusters to review the estimate that the body shop gives them. This is to determine if they will fix or total out your car. Also, their coverage is not as good as other insurance companies.

Honestly, it's terrible. Their app doesn't work. I have emailed them and called several times to get it fixed and to try and cancel a policy, but I received absolutely no reply.

You don't get a deductible unless you add other insurance on the policy. That's not good!

My insurance coverage is excessively high and I just received a notification that it is increasing from $93.22 to $107.56 without any apparent good reason. I am in search of insurance that is less than $50. I don't earn a lot of money and cannot afford these high payments.

Like all insurance companies, it seems like a rip-off. It doesn't make sense to pay thousands of dollars for insurance and get nothing in return if you don't use the insurance. Not even a discount. Getting in touch with a live representative is almost impossible, and when you do, they seem uninformed. I was charged $300 for a policy that provided no coverage. It felt like they were getting paid for doing absolutely nothing.

I loved The General. I had them for 3 years. However, I found better rates elsewhere and I'm now paying only half of what The General was offering, so I had to switch. If they had lower rates, I would have stayed with them.
