Some agents were very aggressive over the phone. Still, I did encounter some agents who were nice, friendly, and knowledgeable. I left Liberty Mutual because of the rise in my premium, which I don't blame them for. They must be dealing with inflation and the fact that many people get involved in accidents. However, I barely drive and have never been in an accident, so I didn't want to bear the cost.

I once had a question about my coverage and the representative actually laughed at me. Despite that, I stayed with Liberty for over 10 years without any problems - but I never had to file any claims. My policy went up over $900 during my next renewal and I called to ask about getting it matched to what another company offered and they were unable to. I switched over to the other company because they offered me the same coverage for what I had been paying before at Liberty. The price hike (especially when I have never had to file a claim) was way too much to stick around for.

My experience was excellent until I had a claim. After a traffic violation, they cancelled my policy with short notice. When I contacted them, they wouldn't accept the last payment for the policy's natural end date, which was approximately 30 days away. Later the same day, while I was shopping online for auto insurance, one of the potential insurers asked questions about my previous policy. When I went to look it up, they had removed my account. It was as if I had never been their customer from my end user perspective. One of their big marketing campaigns before the big bird emu and 'disgustingly dorky Doug' was 'why get insurance that cancels as soon as you use it'? Thus, they not only lack graciousness at ending relationships, but they're also hypocrites.

After 20 years they let me walk away
About 10 years ago, a fraudulent claim was made against me. Despite my insistence that it was fraud, the company still paid the claim. I had been with them for over 20 years, with no claims or charges in the last 5 years. However, they sent a notice that my rates would increase by another 33%. After finding a much better deal elsewhere, 50% less to be exact, I contacted them, but they showed no interest in reconsidering the issue. Consequently, I have moved on.
