The Shortcomings of Direct Insurance
They were overall terrible. All they want is your money without really covering your car or accidents. My ex-wife intentionally ran into me, leading to her being charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Despite having the same insurance company, Direct would not pay to have my car fixed. They were extremely disappointing. I would advise against choosing them.

Worst Experience with This Company
This was the worst company I've ever dealt with. I paid my monthly bill two weeks in advance and then had to cancel because I moved to a neighboring state and was no longer covered. They didn't refund my full payment even though I cancelled with weeks left on the policy and a prepaid month ahead. I will never use them again!

Total Rip-off
I was very disappointed. I went online and requested a quote for full coverage and was given a quote that I felt was reasonable. I paid the requested down payment and was told that my policy was in place. However, I later received a mail stating that my full coverage had been changed to liability without any prior discussion or consultation about what I might want to do. They just changed it. When I contacted them and asked why it was changed, I was told it was because my 2020 Kia Sportage didn’t have the auto theft upgrade. I told them no one ever asked me about it, but if that was necessary, I had no problem getting it done. I made an appointment and within two days, it was done. I called to notify them and was told I would have to pay again to put full coverage back on, even though remember, that's what I paid for in the first place. It made no sense why I would have to pay to put the collision and comprehensive back on. It was a total rip-off.

They are dishonest because they encourage you to download their Routly app, then raise your rate by 80 dollars more. Then, they direct you to Dynamic Drive customer service because they can't help you.

It was a terrible experience. They quoted me $251 a month for full coverage. They had me install this app, and my children play on my phone during car trips. Now, they expect me to pay $366 this month. I am planning to switch to Progressive at the end of the month. They offer full coverage for $145 without any intrusive app or device to monitor my driving or phone activity. It seems like this company forgets that we have children who play on our phones in the car! I can't wait to leave this company.

I wouldn't recommend purchasing from this company. The monthly renewal was fine initially, but the payment unexpectedly increased from $200 to $400 a month, despite having no accidents. The representative's response was, 'Yeah, companies are taking advantage of the price hikes,' as if that's a normal practice. This is terrible customer service. There are no benefits for being an older, accident-free, good driver. It's just horrible!
