I'm not pleased with the Direct Auto app. It doesn't provide many options for opting in or out of direct payments.

I found Direct AUTO insurance to be very deceptive. I paid what I was quoted for the first month, only to have my rate increased by $150 the second month.

The rates are too high. No, I wouldn't recommend them.

I could never reach the agent from whom I bought the policy. He also never informed me to send proof of prior insurance. As a result, they removed the discount and charged me the full amount. I didn't find this out until a month before expiration. Even though I sent them proof, it didn't matter. My policy increased by $93.

They doubled my premium due to some document issues. Even after fixing them, they still expected me to pay double my premium.

I felt that this company was taking advantage of me. I was able to switch to USAA, as a veteran, and receive policy discounts as well as bundle with rental insurance. Initially, customer service told me that my high rates were due to my location. However, the final customer service representative informed me that I had to pay the full balance to terminate my contract. I found this to be unfair and I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.

I do not recommend Direct to anyone looking for honest car insurance. They may mislead you until it's time to file a simple claim, then you will discover the truth about them.

This company's customer service is not good.

If you feel like being taken advantage of in a less than ideal situation, call Direct General. They'll exploit you.

They were extremely disappointing. I would advise against choosing them.

They are bad at communication. They tried adding things to my policy without my knowledge. The price of my monthly payment went up four times within the first month. The initial quote was $350 for two cars on state minimum, and by the next month, it was raised to $559.

This was the worst company I've ever dealt with. I paid my monthly bill two weeks in advance and then had to cancel because I moved to a neighboring state and was no longer covered. They didn't refund my full payment even though I cancelled with weeks left on the policy and a prepaid month ahead. I will never use them again!

I feel that they do not assist their customers with their policies. I thought I had full coverage and I pay dearly, but I wasn't fully covered. So, their agency is not looking out for the customer.

They charge way too much. I was paying Direct $260 per month. I found a top provider for $143 per month. That's a big difference.
