Consider Directing Your Auto Policy Elsewhere
My experience was less than satisfactory. I was automatically switched from SafeAuto to DirectAuto. Unfortunately, their customer service was not helpful at all. Despite having two 6-month policies and zero driving or traffic incidents, my policy's cost kept increasing. This was for a vehicle that's only used for appointments and occasional store visits. I called to find out the reason for the increase but never received a clear answer. As a result, I discontinued my policy and took my business elsewhere. When I was first shifted from SafeAuto to DirectAuto, there was an approximate $80 increase. The renewal this time was even more expensive, and again, customer service couldn't provide a satisfactory explanation.

Bait and Switch Cost!
I'm not sure. I felt baited by the low initial cost, which is why I switched from Geico in the first place. They seemed to raise their prices even though I hadn't had any tickets or accidents. Months have gone by since I switched to Direct Auto, and I am now paying them what I used to pay Geico.

My Personal Experience with Direct
Absolutely horrid. They promised me credits after two renewal periods, but we found errors and never received those credits. Then, they raised our insurance by another $75 per month without any notice. They also renewed our policy without a single phone call or email asking if we needed anything to change or to review anything.

They acquired my previous insurance company, and I was unfortunately transferred to them. I pay for rental coverage every month, in addition to paying a significant amount for my overall coverage. Poor Company
I felt that this company was taking advantage of me. I was able to switch to USAA, as a veteran, and receive policy discounts as well as bundle with rental insurance. Initially, customer service told me that my high rates were due to my location. However, the final customer service representative informed me that I had to pay the full balance to terminate my contract. I found this to be unfair and I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.
