Great company to deal with. Very helpful and always someone to talk to as needed.

I've never had any problems with Geico yet, but as a senior citizen, I do wish they would offer more discounts for those of us who are on a set budget. I feel their bundle package (auto/home) could be a little more reasonable price-wise.

Due to an accident and the fact that he was not listed as a driver on the car, and it was a government GEICO insurance, they dropped my insurance. So now I'm looking for a new policy for my cars.

I would tell my friend to keep an eye on the premium because you don’t want to be surprised when your premium goes up for no reason. Even if you have not been in a car accident, if you’re not checking, you won’t know. It is super unfair.

It's very expensive car insurance for a 63-year-old with a good driving record, no accidents, no tickets, and a safe driving experience. It's just too expensive.

The cost of insurance is way too high. I moved to Florida with 2 drivers and 1 car, and I'm paying $2,000 a year. In Pennsylvania, I had 4 drivers and 2 cars for $1,100 a year.

Even though I just have liability, the cost for my vehicle is way too high. Customer service needs more education.

I had a bad experience with GEICO. In 17 years of being insured, I never filed a claim, never had an accident, and never received a ticket. Both my wife and I are excellent drivers. Two months ago, my credit card was cloned, so it was canceled and reissued. In the meantime, that month's payment didn't go through, and while waiting for my new card, GEICO canceled my policy. Once I received my new credit card, I contacted the company, but they told me my 17-year-old account was closed and that I needed a new policy. They issued the same policy but charged me an additional $250 to reissue it, or $500 more per year. I contacted them, and the answer was, "Sorry, it's a new policy, and that is our policy; there's nothing we can do," and the supervisor gave the same response. After 17 years without any accidents and never missing a payment, I was penalized without any consideration.

I've been insured with them for years, but my rate continues to increase despite having no tickets or at-fault accidents. I can't find anything cheaper either. I used to sell insurance and received cheaper rates when I was younger and had more chances of accidents or tickets than now.

It is next to impossible to contact an agent by phone. I recently wanted to compare policies. I have an auto and a renter's policy through them but received much lower quotes from other companies. I wanted to give Geico an opportunity to meet or beat these quotes. The first number I called was a number on my policy. I was taken through a loop trying to sell me monitoring for a device they were giving away. The recording I received from the next number I called, taken from a Google search, informed me that I had a very long wait. I was given the option to wait 30+ minutes or receive a call back. I chose the latter. I did not receive a call that day or any day thereafter. My policy with them renewed automatically. I'm still trying to contact them.

I have never had to file a claim, so I can't comment on that aspect. However, I'm not happy that the cost increases with every new six-month term.

Always compare rates every 4 years. Verify discounts.

Great, until you actually have to file a claim, then your premiums are increased regularly. I have been with Geico for 10 years, and after replacing my windshield once, followed by an accident that wasn't my fault, my insurance rate effectively doubled. What started out at $84/month for full coverage has become $167+. Ridiculous, especially since I have an excellent driving record. Then their partner, Travelers, dropped my renter's policy, despite me having a storage unit that needed coverage, after I became homeless due to not being able to find affordable and safe housing (I have MCS). I'm changing providers, effective tomorrow, and have saved $489+ on a 6-month policy. So much for saving 15% or more with Geico... they actually charge more than 50% more than my new provider with the exact same coverage.

My husband and I shared a policy. He got into multiple accidents, and I got into none. When I tried to switch insurance companies, the accidents he was involved in showed up under my name. Geico refused to correct it, and now I am paying higher insurance because of it.

Fast responsive call center for claims, but the claim associate took forever to get claim amounts back in full. She was always driving when you called to chat about your policy and issues. It took 1.5 years to complete and get a great body shop to repair my vehicle. The shop still left the hood ground unhooked and hurried the claim to get my money. Paint and body work are not satisfactory after a closer look. Geico is disappointing.

Stay away from Geico. They do not lower rates for good drivers, drivers using dashcams, accident-free, ticket-free. They constantly raise rates, claiming that the state raised the insurance rates, which is misleading. They seem more interested in giving their shareholders bigger dividends and are not there for the consumer.

They raise rates without notification, and when you call them, it's just, "Well, that's the way it is."

I called and was put on hold for 70 minutes while I had to listen to a recording of "With GEICO there is no waiting" played over and over. When I finally spoke to an agent, she told me she was raising my rate when no change was being made. She was confused. Before I had a chance to correct her, she ended our phone meeting. So I've been overpaying by a lot for months. I was in the hospital in late April and came home with a chronic fatigue infection, which has forced me to sleep instead of taking care of business.

Too much money for a person with no accidents.

Their customer service reps are friendly but not particularly helpful. My registration got suspended because they had my VIN wrong, even though when I called they assured me they had it corrected in their system. I didn't find out until I got pulled over by a cop for not having valid registration.

Beware of the constant price hikes despite having no accidents or tickets for 40 years.

They charged me $160.00 for 6 months for a custom car and driving 13,000 miles a year. When I finally got a representative who would listen to me, she lowered my bill to $101.00. When I tried to reclaim some of that money, they said I couldn’t have it nor could I have free insurance for the trade. All the while, my car and mileage were the same as every year, 4,000 miles a year and under. It feels like a racket.

GEICO said my mother owed an old bill before insuring us. I paid the bill after it was placed on my credit report. Then I had to pay it again just to get insurance, and I could never speak to anyone with any authority over this issue. Now they dropped me, and I am still owed money, but they are trying to get more out of me now. Stay away!

They increase your premium even if someone rear-ends your car!

I was with Geico for 10 years. I was late paying my policy by 1 day because of an unexpected life challenge. Geico charged me $500 more for my 6-month policy. I now have my policy with Progressive.

I have had GEICO for my car insurance for 15 years. My policy recently went up almost $50 a month! And when I needed to actually use my insurance, when I got rear-ended by an uninsured driver, I had to do all of the work from phone calls to paperwork. It was like a full-time job.

I've been having a lot of issues with their app trying to register for their DriveEasy program to receive discounts. I called to report the issues, and you can never speak with a human being at Geico. It's always a chat box, and after 2 hours, I finally got through and then got disconnected.

They don't pay out what they should if a claim is made. They forced us to get a brand new roof when it was slightly damaged by a hurricane, and they would not pay us anything because they said our roof was almost 25 years old. It cost us $29,000 to replace the roof; otherwise, they told us they would no longer cover us.

They raise your rate when you are a little bit late on paying your bill.
