I have had no issues or claims. I have not yet seen my October renewal. However, I thought the price was a little high last year.

Mercury GO is not ideal because it requires you to use an app on your phone instead of your personal vehicle. This is particularly inconvenient when the vehicle you've insured with Mercury stays parked at home while you're driving a company vehicle 90% of the time.

Mercury has been my auto insurer for over 20 years. They recently changed their underwriting rules, and not for the better. Their claims process is less supportive now, mainly being online.

They have always been good until my policy's price skyrocketed for no apparent reason. I have been with them for over 6 years and every 6 months, the price has increased without any justification. Now, it's so high that I can't afford it anymore.

Continuous rate hikes with no claims, tickets, accidents, DUIs, nothing. The concept of a valued customer is non-existent. If there is price gouging, the insurance industry as a whole is guilty. Forced coverage by DMVs in all states for registration is exactly what insurance company lobbyists created.

I had them for years and they dropped my homeowners insurance, even though I never had a claim in 20 years. The prices for my auto insurance keep going up.

I scraped a sign at church and had to file an insurance claim for the first time in my 43 years. I called Mercury and asked about the implications of filing a claim, and they assured me everything would be fine. However, my six-month premium increased to $2000 afterwards. This has made it impossible for me to shop around for insurance because now I'm considered to have a poor driving record. I received a small check for this claim and was reassured that everything was going to be fine, but now I'm stuck with this for five years. If they had been honest with me, I never would have filed a claim and would have handled it on my own.

I wouldn't recommend them. Because of my age, I had to reduce my car insurance to the bare minimum. I am 77 years old, have been driving for 56 years, have had no accidents, no DUIs, and drive less than 30 miles a day, etc.

They continually raise the vehicle mileages every year, even though we do not drive anywhere close to those mileages on most of the vehicles. They never ask for mileage verification before raising the rates each year. Then, they make it very difficult to adjust the mileages once the policy is renewed. They are too policy-driven and not customer-driven. We are actively looking for another company that is more customer-friendly and cost-effective. However, I am finding that such a company may not exist. Very frustrating.

They were good until I had one accident in 55 years of driving, then they just canceled my policy. No explanation was given. I had a perfect driving record until the accident. I'm not happy about the lack of response from the claims department.

They raised my rates by $500 even though my truck is 7 years old. Very poor service.

I was disappointed. They promised a rate of $104 per month - except the first month was to be slightly higher due to admin costs for policy set-up. The actual rate was $114 per month. But after 3 months, it was raised to $117 per month, then $127 and kept going up. At the annual renewal, it was up to $179 per month. I contacted the agent about the constant rate increases only to be told she had no control over rates. I can't comment on the claim service because I never filed a claim.

We filed a roof claim and had two different roofing contractors check and take pictures showing hail damage. We waited for over a month for the original adjuster to approve or reject the claim, and he felt it should be rejected. They sent a third-party inspector and then we discovered our adjuster had left the company. We got another adjuster and after another three weeks, she flatly rejected our claim.

Every time I have contacted customer service for any reason, from resetting my online password to adding a vehicle to the policy, they have been very rude. I'm paying them $400 a month, which is 100% profit for the company since I've never filed a claim in the 3 years I've been a customer. Yet, I get treated like I'm bothering them any time I've needed their assistance with something.

I had full coverage, but then there was a $400 hike per year. I switched to State Law which was $200 lower. I sent a check for $146.00 for renewal, but they claimed it arrived 2 days late. Was it due to snail mail? I think they're lying. The new policy is $600 more per year. Now, I have no insurance. I've had this poor service since I was 16. I might just go without insurance because I no longer care.

The app is not helpful. Anytime you want to find something or need help, you have to call. The website and app offer the bare minimum with limited features. They do not offer GAP insurance. I found way better coverage for the same price at Progressive.

I'm very upset with Mercury. I was a consistent customer, making payments on time every six months for years. However, when I was one day late on a payment, I received no grace period. Mercury cancelled my policy and I will never return to them.

This is one of the few auto insurance companies that offers annual policies and has maintained the same rates for 2 1/2 years. However, I haven't received a satisfactory explanation for why the collision premium doubled on my 2024 renewal. I prefer dealing directly with the company rather than through Jerry, my agent. All the other companies I've used in the last 12 years seem to increase their rates by 20 - 30% every 6 months. Since I retired and moved back to Carroll County, VA, I've noticed an almost 40% increase since last January, which I find unacceptable.

It appears that most people working there are confused and don't know what they're doing.
