Click it or ticket campaign

Are you buckled up?

This week the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) kicked off the Click It Or Ticket campaign. The annual safety campaign is designed to urge all drivers and passengers to always buckle their safety belts while they ride in vehicles on America’s roadways. The campaign is scheduled to run until mid June.

“The Click It or Ticket safety campaign continues to be an effective tool to help change the attitudes of many occupants who do not use their seat belts,” said Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police, First Vice President Jim Kruger. “So let me remind everyone that police will be mobilizing day and night to crack down on anyone who violates the seat belt law. If you choose not to wear your seat belt, you will receive a ticket.”

It appears the NHTSA's campaign has been very effective. As you can see in the infographic below, the most recent national average for individuals who wear their seat belts has risen to 88.5%. But there is still more to be done in order to keep everyone safe on the roads, so share this infographic and make sure whomever you ride with is buckled up at all times.
